Many laugh when I say that Kluivert was right up there in the same conversation with Ronaldo as a striker, but I still stand by what I say. Ronaldo was brilliant, but despite how great he was with his feet, he could not be compared to Kluivert in the air. Look at the power and athleticism in that header. Kluivert reminded me of a horse, he was so strong. Was definitely my favourite striker of the day, and I was also a Ronaldo and Romario fan.

@@davlor86 Yeah, I know. But 94 was the first time I saw the 'seleção' win the WC. I was 11 that time, and as I remember, each man in the field was giving his maximum to bring the cup back home, (despite not being a so technical and strong squad as those from 98 or 2002) and it ended on a dramatical penalty shootout against the then so strong Italy. That's how my memories works and makes me prefer the 94 brazilian team over any other I've ever seen.

I don't think I was every more happy then when Kluivert made that header. I thought we were going to the finals. I was even more happy than when Bergkamp scored his beauty against Argentina. That was pure shock.
It was followed up by the most disappointment I had watching a game when losing with penalties, again. I was really down for a week or so, really thought we d make another push and be going to the finals.
Brazil had such a great team btw: Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Denilson, Carlos, Leonardo.

Rivaldo gave the assist BTW. You can recognize it by the typical Rivaldo less crossing after the pass is given. Denilson subted in at 70 minutes. I remember the goal of Ronaldo was right after half time. Traumas are very memorable. Hahah. Still can't believe De Boer took a step forward and created a back door for the most lethal striker in hostory.

Belgium 🇧🇪 is still miles ahead though, since they started playing better than Brazil about 4 years ago.
Belgium is way overrated and is a media hyped team. Almost Always loses when playing against a big nation.

I rememver Van Hooijdonk had a clear header in the extra time to score a second dutch goal, but he was clearly fouled and yet we didn't receive a penalty.
I talked to an Asian man years later who told me this game was rigged. No idea if that's true but that was clearly a foul.
