R9 had dribbling and technique? He was just a poacher who waited inside the penalty area to score tap ins after his teammates helped him open up the defence. Guy couldn’t generate anything on his own.

I think he is the only player who actually scored 8 goals on a World Cup after a heavy 2 years rehabilitation from an injury. For comparison Klose needed 4 tournaments while Messi and Cristiano are not even close to both of them. I mean, I don't know another football player to be called "The phenomenon".

@comali2212 Brazil has a population that is more than 3 times that of the other (past) superpower Germany. Together with their culture of skill-based creative improvised football and add to it endless supply of talent due to big population, year-round tropical climate, and the national passion for the game, it is easy to see why they have and keep producing great players. Lately though (since 2002), the advent of "systems" football has pooped the party for Brazil. This is their longest and most barren WC streak (only 1 semi-final between 2002-2026). But I think Brazil can be at the top again if they adopt a bit more discipline. They have always had the fantastically talented players, if they just add this discipline, they should do it again. They are always among the contenders and still the main team to fear.
