Great to see this little birds (Lewin's Rails) and I liked the big bird (Great Egret)so close by to show you the difference in size. I have never seen this little bird before. Thank you for taking us along Karen and Nimal. Hope you are both well.
@@storiesoftheaustralianbush3818 Thanks for the tip! We were just up in FNQ but didn’t manage to get out on the reef. I’ve never heard of Masthead Island but will definitely put that on the list for next time 😊👍 ~ K
It seems like a you had a nice kayak-tour, Karen🙂And Nimal sure had a lovely time with the rails. Best of all: they were still there when you came back. I gather this was a nice 1-day excursion for you?
oooh sorry for the late reply... I missed seeing your message! Yes just a day trip 😀 It's only about an hour & a half from home & an easy drive. The kayaking there was wonderful. So pretty!! The Rails were so cute!! We rarely see them so it was quite a pleasant surprise!
Thanks! 😀 Ironically the next video is going to mention our cameras as we just got a new one. Up until recently, we've both been using Micro 4/3. I've been using a Panasonic G9/PL 100-400 & Nimal uses an Olympus OM-DE1iii/Olympus 100-400. We don't generally talk about our cameras as we only had the same ones & I guess they're old now. Still good though! But fun to now have a new toy to play with!! 😀 ~ Karen
hehe what a cute little sneaky bird and loved seeing your smiles too :)
hehe! Thanks! 😁 These little birds are indeed very sneaky! And they're very quick too! Thanks so much for watching ~ Karen

They are really quite rare to see so Nimal was very excited! Thanks so much for watching & hope you are both well too!! 😀
You must visit the barrier reef. I highly recommend Masthead Island . The Rails are so tame compared to mainland rails and a joy to observe. ❤
