  • What’s up everyone,
As I am working on some new content I decided to share my Uni foil Community Contest Submission with everyone in the mean time. When I was told about this Unifoil contest I was really looking forward to working on some new clips and trying some new tricks up my sleeve. Unfortunately my body had a different objective and I haven’t been in the water in a little over 3 weeks. I was going to throw in the towel on the idea to put out an edit but instead I picked through some of my favorite clips from this summer and put something together. To whomever needs to hear it from another injured person. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. I started to feel a bit of discomfort in my hips and back and decided to ignore it. Later on in the day I could barely walk from my kitchen to the living room. Because of my ignorance I have been just hearing from the group chat I am on @newjerseyfoilclub on how fun it has been. ( No worries fellas. I am not taking it personally haha). But all in all injury sucks and mine could have been prevented if I would have just called it a day when it started to feel weird. Since then I have been concentrating on stretching, balance training and strength training. Really trying to build a strong foundation and get back on track so I can work on future edits/ entries for my TH-cam channel and obviously get back on foil. Anyway enough of the bummer train…. Sorry about that.
As far as the edit this was one of the most fun projects to work on with what I do in foiling. Looking forward to making more experimental edits like this and thank you @unifoil for creating an opportunity to be seen via their contest, lighting a needed fire under my ass and letting me get creative.
Going forward The Lift Journal is going to start to take a little bit of a direction change. Although only foiling for a year and change I went down the rabbit hole and learned a lot really quick. I am going to start answering some questions that some of you ask in the comments and almost make it an entry itself. Example someone recently asked me about foil board design and how width effects it. My background in surf design has also allowed me to have a different way of looking at prone foil boards than others and really just seeing what works to some and maybe doesn't to others. As you read before I am injured but am going to also share some things that I have been doing to try to rebuild my body through basic movement and also using other sports to shake the cobwebs off.
    Hope you Enjoy
