  • What's up everyone and thanks for checking out my first RIDE REPORT by The Lift Journal. The Omen Flux is the most interesting looking board I have personally seen in the foil board world. The Omen Flux is honestly a shape that I would not normally be attracted to. But when I realized I need to go a little further up in volume because of my extra 10-15 pounds of wetsuits I knew that it was going to be hard to find something more buoyant but still easy to ride.
Wide chopped tail and parallel outline makes it just look like a small sinker wing board, but then I started to see more and more people riding similar outlines. Then the deep dive began and I got nerdy. People claim the omen as a wing board feels smaller once it's up. That the aggressive chines help with touchdowns and help with lift. For as large as the outline looks it’s still only 18 inches wide, which is kinda my sweet spot I think. So the biggest hesitation with purchasing is how will it work with Unifoil. Unifoil is kinda known to be placed further up in the tracks where with all this wide tail outline boards the foils are much further back. The other bonus is this board being made in the Apple tree factory which to many is the best construction out there. So with my fascination with all things foil and a nice little bonus check I made the purchase and got excited. With all of that I am pretty hyped on what has resulted after my 30 days on the Omen Flux. Tech specs listed below.

Chimes make gentle noises in the wind, chines are angles on hulls of boats and boards

When popping up do you put your rear foot on the back of the board chicken wing style?

So i think i go front foot first then back foot. But I think i need to start going back foot then front foot.

Could you do a short vid from a side view showing your pop up?

Awesome review. What's your weight? I'm shopping for a hybrid prone/wing board in the 45L-50L range for 83kg/185 lbs or so. I normally wing an Appletree Jazz 60L and my prone board is an Appletree Pro Foil V2, but I'm struggling a bit a 37L with with. I want a bit more foam. I wish the rear strap inserts weren't offset like this. I like the idea, but I ride switch a lot, so having a straight strap at the back is kinda important to me. @omenfoils

Hey Danny, Sorry for the delayed response. I am in the 140 range in a suit. I have no winging background but prone is more of my thing. With that said the flux is a mix of both. I personally love it as a prone board and have been told it lifts out of the water on wing super easy. They are nice because they are on the narrower side so more sensitive when attacking on turns.
