Amazing!!! This man is under rated here on TH-cam which I find sad. I have learned lots of stuffs from him and he’s such a good teacher. Thank You so much chef Alan.
I definitely will go to Global Sugar Art and buy all this shoes kit. and do you have that video on how to make Mexican paste I definitely would like to make it from scratch and chef thanks a lot for sharing your videos
Hello chef Alan, nice to have the tutorial. I wonder whether I can make those mini shoes two weeks before or not. If it is possible, how should I store to keep them good until I assemble it onto the cupcakes. I will need 40 pairs mini shoes for my daughter birthday cupcakes. thanks in advance.
Hello Chef Tetraeault! I have a dilemma I hope you can help me with, I have looked all over for an answer to my question, but can't seem to find a video, or written instructions. I am wanting to make a cake and use the disco dust to cover the sides. My cake will be 9.5 x 5.5 x 7, and I would like to know what is the best way to get the dust to settle onto the sides of the cake without it slipping, if I tilt the cake to do this? Obviously I am an amature in the cake design, this will be my 1st attempt with the dusting. It would be easier had it been coconut, or some type of nut that I was adding, but with this dust I have no idea? Would love to hear from you, please!!! Lisa Broussard
When you want to add cookie or cake crumbs or chocolate curls to the side of a cake, you hold the cake in one hand and tilt it towards a pan fill with your topping. Then use your other hand to gently press the topping into the sides of the cake and keep repeating that process until the whole cake is covered. HOWEVER, you really do not want to embed that much disco dust in the sides of a cake. It is considered non-toxic but really does not taste good and has a horrible mouth feel. I would suggest a light dusting by dipping a dry brush into the disco dust then flicking it on to the side of the cake.
The shoes are designed to look the same so there is no left and right in the toe section. However, you can place a bow or flower on the left and right side of the strap or toe cover to make them look like a left and right.
