Gumpaste can home-made or purchased. It contains a gum additive called Tylose or CMC powder that makes the paste elastic. If you look on our website under Tutorials/ Recipes, you will find the recipe for homemade gumpaste.
What size celbud are your using for the 90mm jem cutter?

Hi Chef Alan, I must say I do like all your videos. How do I know the exact size of buds to use for the rose. I have recently tried out my first rose but noticed my bud was slightly larger than what I supposed to have used. Thanks!

Question do we have to wrap wire with green tape?
I just bought wire and already cover with green colour
So still I have to use tape ??
I was not sure so I used in the end cling film food wrapper before insert in cake 🎂

If you are making your own cones out of gumpaste, the wire will need to have floral tape on it in order to glue into the gumpaste. Plain wire may come right out once dried.

Yes you can. Most decorators insert the wires in to a plastic straw prior to pushing them in to cake.

I like straw idea but if one wire leave I want to put in cake and straw is little big and then leave wire will wobble 😄
So that is the worry for me
If you know how to cover with straw not to wobble then I will really appreciate your help

+joy osomiha There are too many ways to arrange flowers to be able to reply in this forum. I suggest you Google gumpaste flower arranging or look at a cake you like and arrange them in the same manner.

Wiring of flower arrangements is a more complex subject. It would require a few separate TH-cams just on that subject.

Do we need a special kind of wire??
The bud should be about the length of one petal. Most people make their buds too short and their finished roses look flat and lifeless. I always suggest to students to look at a real rose and you will see that the inside is much larger than expected. Let nature be your guide!
