FM has made 20 cars by the time GT has made 1. I prefer a bigger carlist than having to zoom in to appericiate some details that are baerely visible during a race
@@GTAracingUKtrust me its noticable during gameplay, and forza motorsport is not making 20 cars when pd made one, they make at a faster rate, but the quality is just not there, quality over quantity every time. And we know gt will get there with quantity at some point, just remember not many years ago gt only had like 200 detailed cars now its 500
GT7 in VR is especially impressive when you own or know how given car looks like in reality and then you go into VR and every bit is just where it is supposed to be. In cockpit view I even catch myself on trying to touch knobs, switches etc. Because they feel so real.
GT7's latest crop of scanned models are legitmately end game in their detailing. Set for multiple generations of reuse, and all they need is more console/platform horsepower to utilize the higher LOD models we see, like in the VR showroom. Looking at ACE's models, they're inconsequentially near-as good as GT7's, but we can see those tiniest of details are more 1:1 from Polphyony. Really, the only points of criticitsm for GT7's car visuals are the lighting: if they could reduce the bloom and slightly increase overall dynamic range, they'd be visually faultless given current hardware constraints. Where GT will likely remain untouchable is their lighting. It's scary how good they are at that stuff. Ironically, that same sh*t's been Forza's single biggest weakness since the dawn of time.
GTSport and GT7 dynamic range actually renders natively to 10,000 nits and downmapped to your display capability, this is mentioned in PD's engine presentation. The bloom is likely a result of undisplay-able specular highlights being downmapped to consumer display level. There is nothing that does 10,000 nits unless you borrow Christopher Nolan's editing monitor maybe.
Kunos has 20-ish devs, last time I checked. Polyphony Digital got hundreds of experts working for them. Considering how 20-ish devs got this close to PD's feats, I think that's very commendable alone. At least that's my two cents.
@@verticalflyingb737 Essential a decent sized indie team going up against a AAA studio, the fact that these models look closer to GT7 than forza motorsport is remarkable
What about gameplay though ? Or are you mongrels only interested in the shiny bits ? No wonder GT is so thrash in that regard, when their fanbase only cares about the most shallow elements.
No one will be beat GT7, Kaz is hyper OCD and makes the cars a legitimate 1:1 for all details, hence the extremely long times for in game implementation of new cars. However, AC EVO still looks really damn good even with a few polygonal artifacts here and there. I’m sure they’ll blow forza out of the water to be honest.
Gt has always taken ages to do anything, most of the cars are precise game cars just reskinned .they released the same game on 3,4,5 and six and people still payed up lol physics are poor ,it's an arcade game .I happily sacrifice graffix for drivability and assetto is much better to drive, and with mods sol ect allot of the cars look better than gt7,oh ,that's because gt7 doesn't have them lol
@@skyn2643 his comment was rather ignorant, I mean the cars are not reskinned, anyone that knows anything about design knows that this is not possible and to magically have new detail. But the franchise has been built on a steady "improvement" base as well at the same time (that being, they are practically working on the "same" game content all this time and each version shows how much more work they have done on it)... Anyway. Yeah he had a rather ignorant comment. But, you almost fell to his level. Telling someone they are dismissed because of how they spell a word is low. Especially when you could of pointed several things in his argument to talk about. lol
gameplay models in GT7 have more details than promotional models of other games, that tells you how advanced PD is compared to other racing game studios.....I can see lot of jaggies in AC lol
you know, i would understand if polyphony pays you to excessively glaze them for this long, but i know they’re not as pathetic as microsoft trying to control people’s opinions on FM, so i highly doubt they would pay an NPC like you to pointlessly dickride them.
Well don't forget the fact that PD has backing of playstation and hundred of workers and contractors. Kunos is a relatively small studio with not that of a big publisher. The fact that it's even getting close is really impressive.
@samueljones3668 no gran turismo 7 physic is actually good if you look closely every component function it's just that gran turismo 7 has variety of vehicle and each of them have difrent chacteristic
Finally, for the low budget Kunos has next to Polyphony, plus everything the PC platform offers, this will be awesome. The recommended requirements look accessible as well despite of the fidelity, assuming the screenshots are in-game.
Kunos isn't low budget anymore, they made crazy bank off of AC, esp considering how little they put into it. Obv yes they have less resources than polyphony but i dont think its fair to call them low budget in any context
One criticism about the comparison between the headlights of the Porsche: that particular model from that era of the 911 actually had those metal rings around the headlights, and they are only present in the ACE model of the car but not in the GT7 model. And if you look at the cars from that era, they didn't have flush transitions between the different parts but uses to have pretty visible gaps, and even nowadays cars don't have perfectly flush transitions. So regarding this particular aspect the models in ACE are actually more accurate.
I'm waiting to see how he reviews the paintwork in the AC. You can see the paintgrain I these shots, something he slagged forza for, yet that's how real paintwork looks. Its going to be interesting how he deals with that.
polyphony digital are arthisian when it comes to detail car models but ac is still nice maybe 2nd place when it comes to detail very close to polyphony digital
I am looking forward to what Polyphony Digital is cooking for Gran Turismo 8 that will utilize the power of the PS5 unless GT8 is developed for PS5 Pro or for PS6.
Sometimes, I think people in the comments just don't want a game to look better. Lol. That's thinking backward. It just seems like some are saying it's not going to look better because they don't want it to. I always want a new game to look better than their predecessors, or even a completely different game like FM or GT. I wanted FM to blow GT outbof the water with visuals, but here I am.. disappointed. Hard to tell, but the cars look pretty close in my opinion with these shots. Id be happy with this if we get tracks looking just as nice with some good lighting as well. And as ridiculous as I may sound with grass, please keep it thick. FM looks too flat. It just makes the game look like it has more depth when the grass is dense. It definitely changed since pre release trailers.
My point of view is especially in VR with GT7. When you're driving, you can see the odometer rolling and when you pick up your car several days later, it picks up the odometer where you really left off. It's so good. When you turn on the headlights you see the dashboard indicators light up. Another of the craziest things about GT7 VR is that when you're driving at night and a driver is behind you, his headlights illuminates your interior, even dazzling you if you stare too long into the interior mirror... it's just crazy! And the road deteriorates as the rain falls, the mud, the effects of aquaplaning and loss of grip when the track is slightly curved causing water to flow down the inside of the bend, the wind that causes the rain to change directions (and your drags) - in short, this game is insane if you take the time to really test it in VR, forgetting your sarcasm and PC/PS5 preconceptions. Not mentioning the amazing VR Replay from the track as spectator. all this good vibes are in my video here: th-cam.com/video/jb5_BXME-hg/w-d-xo.html
@@msum23 but modded isn’t official is it? I’m sure if GT7 was on PC with mods it’ll look better too. If GT7 doesn’t look good to you then your eyes need sorting out. Also Evo is just pre rendered screenshots which were specifically hand picked to look great. I’m sure in gameplay it’ll have downgraded graphics.
This is good competition!! We are the beneficiaries. Edit: Gran Turismo 7 does look better, as far as model details, but Assetto looks like they are VERY close with this one. Mixed with their physics, and ffb feel... PD could have serious competition, although PD tends to keep to themselves and do what they do.
@scarfejs_ We still have the ability to create our own races with whatever setting we want, online or offline. You just have to get a few buddies together, though.
It's funny though, I think the creators behind ACEvo looked at the FM8 promotional material/screenshots/etc and then the final game and said... "You know what, lets make the actual FM8 that they did the promotional material for." Because some of those screenshots with the rain and wet grass look very close to what FM8 showed us back then.
I see this as an absolute win, on both sides. Hear me out ACE taking over from GT7 is like a son taking over Dad's business and crushing it. From ACE POV, great job. From GT7 POV, it's bitter sweet knowing someone outdid the technical best in the industry. If ACE does actually beat GT7 when it's out, imagine GT8 when it inevitably releases on PC. It's a good time to be a sim enjoyer
tbf these are almost two different genre of games gt7 being a good simcade with sandbox like mechanics, developed to meet standards of console gaming with big support to controllers ac was a full on simulator with no real support to controllers (only a few years ago added good support with mods) just a raw - "take any car and drive anywhere you want and thats it" so realistically it cant take the crown of gt7 because its competitors are games like forza, test drive, project cars, etc sandbox simcades and ac competitors are iracing, rfactor, le mans ultimate, automobilista, few others
Absolutely, this will force GT8 to be better, and it's something the industry needs. We can't have any more half-arsed builds like FM23 was. I think it's time GT came to PC, in my opinion.
@@sxdattxb Gran Turismo is not a simcade. The only reason this is said is because Gran Turismo is a simulator designed for the average person to enjoy, with the low entry barrier of being a console game. GT7 is a driving simulator, not a racing simulator. Similarly, ACE is also a driving simulator. They are both in the same category, despite the false simcade claims. For instance, why can GT match real-life lap times, car movements, etc., if it's not a sim? To say it's not a simulator is, in my opinion, misguided. th-cam.com/users/shortswJO9F4-3Ezo
@@AutomotiveVP to make it clear - i believe that gt7 is the best game at its league for sure - far ahead of anything on the market. but all these compromises that it takes to set a lower bar of entry for an average gamer - is just a "nope, thank you" for me as for a sim racer who puts simulation quality above everything else. i dont care about visuals, i dont care about polygon count on models when the models are optimized, i dont care about any mechanics, bells and whistles. im just a guy that is getting old and grumpy, i drove irl for 11 years daily, i drove just a few but enough cars on track - to be able to convince and immerse myself in gt7 physics. just cant make it. cant believe in it. in russia we even have the basic, but widely popular quote\catchphrase from theatre - "I dont believe it!" (Stanislavsky K. S. you can google it, its hard to explain (because you can translate "the meaning from russian to another language") but pretty basic tbh). ffb feels empty and slow (partly because console latency), tire grip feels too plasticky (lacking the feel of tyre biting in the asphalt), suspension feels like it somehow have latency (it shows on tracks with big height changes), weird feel of weight shifting, wrong threshold between oversteer and understeer, i can go on. i really hope it will become better in gt8, or some spinoff with more real intent, because its for sure doable, just a few digits in handling.meta files... but realistically speaking - i wouldnt put this game into simulator category, because it will be on the last place there for me (right now last place there if we only count big games is ams2), just because for me its not about how good the game is - but whats it called. if its called simulator - it should fully simulate all those aspects above. atleast try to fully simulate those (like ams2 do). but if we consider its a simcade - it will be for sure top1 game, kinda even transcending thru this category.
@@AutomotiveVP gotta also tell that i find compromises that ACC made to become a multiplatform title with full controller support - are also moved that game for me closer to the simcades, as well as other bad things with it (mostly because of UE4 engine - bad performance, plasticky graphics, very poor vr performance is a big con for me, on the physics side- its wrong thresholds for oversteer to understeer, weird tyre grip at some moments, absolutely wrong braking logic, weird setups that are sometimes counterintuitive, weird suspension at some moments, collisions between cars) but its still in the category of simulators for me just because of overall competitiveness scheme, somewhere wrong, but in depth tyre, chassis flex, weight transfer, and some other things in its physics. probably best sound out of all racing games ever (but needs to be tweaked by hand because some things are not that loud irl). tracks are looking arguably the best in the industry too. car interior looking lively, really good and indepth ui in-race, fast matchmaking, good rating system, better sportsmanship overall (obv not as good as in iracing). BUT! ACC only stated on its cover that it is a videogame, not a simulator. And it is a little bit scaled down simulation in some parts, but highly updated more advanced simulation in other parts that are mostly not that much about handling feel. Thing is - AC1 engine is very much capable of being the most hardcore in depth realistic simulator, but its first version in 2014 - lacked a fine tuning of some stuff, so they kinda left it like that, because it was forgiving and still simple enough for a new players while also having already the best FFB (that is unbeated by this day). But they gave us basically almost open source of the physics engine, and its engine itself, so people created outstanding high level of simulation car mods, that are usually behind the paywall. theres tons of good mods that are free with really damn high quality of simulation, especially with updated suspension (cosmic) and tyre model physics. also the maps - theres not hunderds, but thousands of them. you can basically make a map of your local area in a few days and start racing there. but the worst part is that people can also make unrealistic cars, unrealistic maps or conversions from other games. it makes ac look goofy imo, but thats the price we pay for having such an open source simple sandbox. and what is simple in being true to reality - wins
I bet both Will feature mindblowing models, ac evo is the first to come close to gt7 car models by looks of things, but ac is not hold up by hardware like gt7 is, but what both pd med kunos have in common is passion behind their games nu to get the car details right. Witch something turn 10 could learn from with forza motorsport
optics just looks flat and wrong on gt other parts look good tho, except materials under the textures. but this cant be done on ps5 tho with its power so nvm
For a simulator is pretty impressive honestly, its Lemans Ultimate level of detail, I am one, excited of how they would approach on the sound design as they might use FMOD tech from ACC.
Both look great, I will thew my money on ACE, hope it will support mods like AC ( AC game as a starting point, look at how it was 14 years ago and look how it looks now with mods in VR with a game engine from antiquity on cars or track made by people) You can't just directly compare GT7 or AC/ACE. They are totally different on their philosophy.
Well I am not holding my breath because of some jacked up pictures of the EVO game. I will make my opinion when the game is released and reviewed on You Tube.
I saw Assetto Corsa Evo trailer yesterday and immediately though of this channel hahah I had a good impression but also think it's not going to be at the same level of detail as GT7. The exterior details look somewhat between FM and GT7. The paint work has that look like if the car had a PPF film applied on it. But I hope it can help filling that void for us PC gamers while we don't get a GT7 port...
tbh i dont even care that much about quality of the smaller details i wish for a better optimization for ACE gt is a good arcade game, but AC was always the best driving simulator
Very true, gt7 is still missing features such as rain and actual custom weather on every track. If ACE actually lives up to AC + mods it's gonna be better than gt7. I bought a ps5 just for gt7 so I ain't a hater either.
I don’t think the modeling is better, just the lighting a reflection on EVO. Also the warm lighting tone seems more natural) while GT7 has a colder lighting that feels artificial .
@@olavofernandes7286 Yep. Same reason why the F1 games have been arcade since F1 challenge 99/02. Aim at people who just want to sit down and pick up a controller and play. Handling characteristics need to please them. That's why iracing and rfactor 2, king of simulation. PC only, means physics are real as.
Assetto corsa evo will be a very good and promising game visually and in gameplay. Better than TDUSC promised us. I can always tell when a game will be nice and when it wouldn't be. I just have these feelings that never failed me when it comes to predicting how good a game will be. I can'r wait to play it on my pc
You keep bringing up TDUSC on videos that have nothing to do with it. Did they promise us anything? Surely they didn't go all out like Turn10 did with their lies. I look at things differently. It's open world. A 1:1 map of a real place. It's very dense with buildings, parking garages, and very dense vegetation. It'll probably be harder to run than an empty open world like Forza Horizon with those big open spaces. But it is a small team. Not some triple A team. For what it is, it looks great. The director also said (if we trust his words) that it was a really early build demo. He also went on and said this: “We know that houses made an impression on TDU players,” Creative Director and franchise veteran Alain Jarniou wrote. “While this feature is not in the game when TDUSC launches, it is part of a long list of features we have already researched for future content in the medium and long term."
The taillighs on the Mercedes look way better in GT, the light refracts on the plastic material, its a thing Assetto Mods got but seems like ACEvo not, tho the paint looks more realistic in AC than in GT
personally speaking, i think gt7 just about edges out ac evo. ac evo models when you look closely still looks a bit rough on edges but same for some car models in gt7. anyways, it is nice to see racing games competing on the best models. though i have to say, i’ve seen AC mods that took it a step further than gran turismo, you could even call the attention to detail unnecessary since it does cost you performance.
The tism at polyphony digital is going to be hard to dethrone. I admire Assetto Corsas attempts at realism. After all imitation is the most sincere form of appreciation. Now if only the Forza devs can put their egos aside for a moment they might actually return to the days when they had solid products. Good to see ya again mate. You get the GTR yet?
1) Actually the GT7 interior was much worse. Are we looking at the same screenshots? That gearstick was bad by comparison and the buttons etc, leather was lower detail and more. 2) GT7 has what I call "magic lighting"... I don't know how they do it. As a designer myself I can spend hours looking at a single screen from GT7 and ponder on how the hell their lighting is calculated. Its amazing! 3) Another thing that really baffles me is how they build their car model headlights (and rear lights)... Even more magic. Again, absolutely amazing! 4) Lastly, geometry detail. Idk what these ACE shots are, but these GT7 shots are not in race. Chances are ACE max detail is not different in showroom (it wasn't in AC or ACC, so who knows) A very important detail, when you sit there and look at the cars to this detail, but not sure how much it even matters in every single other case. So to recap, the geometry really isn't surprising me at all in GT7, its just more polygons, for a specific mode. Nothing special. And will affect zero outside of that mode. But lighting, and some textures, sure are so on point in GT7. Car paint on the other hand. I am not sold that GT7 is better just yet. We need more shots, and most preferably shots from on track from both games. I really need to see more detail on ACE to be able to place it next to GT7, we have little to go by. At this point there are certain car models from mods in AC that are as good already. Soooo, yeah very little to go by. Also one aspect that GT7 that it doesn't do realistically is the blur. It feels like a camera filter than actual human eyes looking at the world. Which in a way can help with making it feel more real, as if you are looking through a cam, and this is a great trick too. Track detail I am not even bothering to talk about, track detail is already better in ACC, much less ACE. So yeah, we have little to go by, but still fun to make comparisons. But, at the end of the day, these are details that are so small, honestly nobody is going to care if the cars are slightly better in GT7 or ACE. What matters is content. And of course physics and game play too, but we can expect ACE (fingers crossed they don't fk it up) to be better in that department it has managed to be better already twice. Content though... Hmmm, this can be a concern. We are talking about an indie studio by comparison, and then on the other hand we have Polyphony which has made a few hundreds of millions on this franchise. Its a tall order. ps, you don't know why people call GT7 a simcade? The reason is because its physics model is much less detailed than other sims. I personally don't think its a simcade, I believe its a sim, full stop. It simply is not on the same level as other sims. Its actually in some areas, rather far even.
I’m happy to debate comments like this. As I mentioned in the video, lighting will affect this, and I'm waiting for the game to come out before I can give a true comparison. When you talk about the texture on the interiors of the car, I believe what affects GT in this video is the foliated rendering while in VR. It’s not focusing on the gearstick for some reason, but that may be because of the eye tracking as I was looking around. Regarding the track details in ACC, only the Nurburgring seems on par with GT7, although they have some spray paint in the wrong areas on ACC but more updated track, minor details. Also, this was taken in-game, not in Scapes for GT7. The only Scape shot was the back end of the Alfa Romeo, but that was my first screenshot. I then decided it was too hard to match the angle using Scapes. Additionally, the promo pictures never matched up in ACC, so we will have to wait for the game to come out before we can even attempt a truthful comparison. I guess all games do promo pictures; even GT had some better-looking shots in its promo to some degree. When you talk about the physics department and say AC has already done it twice, I disagree. The original one is terrible without mods, well, not terrible, but your cars are like soapboxes, and it felt really cheap. For instance, I could slide GT cars around a lot of corners doing a sharp turn, and it would just swing the car around without any weight transfer. I understand they go into a lot more detail with settings, and most people will say that's why it's better, but I always think that’s like saying Forza Horizon has more car settings in the garage, so it's more realistic. You could argue about tire pressure, but when it comes down to driving, they all feel good, but GT7 has a lot of variety and do really well. GT7 feels like the cars you’re driving. Not just that, the dynamic weather, the way the cars handle in the rain, the ABS, the traction, etc., have always felt better in GT7. But this is my conclusion with the physics: I think AC overdoes the physics, and GT somewhat underdoes the physics maybe, also GT7 can match the real-life lap times in the same cars with the same movement almost to the pinpoint time set in real life. For instance, the Mercedes GT3 AMG can go full throttle on one of the corners in real life on the ring, and you can do the same in GT7 at the same speed. In AC, the AMG comes off the track. So, I think it's really hard to have a debate about the physics, to be honest. Even the way GT7 cars react to the bumps, Good example th-cam.com/users/shortsjMDT8Ss5_ec Not just that GT7 claims to be a driving simulator not a racing simulator, most people get it wrong, it's the fact that Gran Turismo is a simulator designed for the average person to enjoy due to it's entry point been on console. IMO BTW. I appreciate the time you put into this comment. I enjoy a good debate, especially a friendly one. You can't deny how much better the paintwork is in GT7. I'm sure they have a lab dedicated solely to the paint aspect of the game, ensuring that all the real-world paint colors match real life. I'm not sure why you would say GT7's paints are not as good. The metallic specs are like glitter in real life, not big flakes like in ACE or Forza Motorsport. Nevertheless, it will be good to run these games side by side upon release. I think they are going to be neck and neck. (I HOPE)
@@AutomotiveVP there are so many things i can pick apart from this comment, again in the heart of debating and not in a toxic nature. But I am at the beach right now and man it is annoying to type on a phone. I can touch on a few things whilst Im here, like the Driving Simulator excuse. It is an excuse. Car physics are car physics, there is nothing different about these physics. Racing with them is the extension of driving. This is a GT7 fanbase excuse. What determines the difference between racing car or not is the setup. And GT7 has racing cars. So this is an invalid take. By the same extension because the original AC has stock cars too its not a racing sim. That is a thought process that will just start spiraling out. GT7 does not feel like real cars, and the primary reason is understeer. This is an issue and direction the franchise has had since gt3. Any real car can be jerked MUCH more in real life. This is a constant gripe I've had with the franchise for ages. I struggle to agree with anyone that says it drives realistically. Every car I have driven in real life I have been able to steer much faster and induce oversteer to a degree not possible in GT7. And oversteer is always better than understeer when racing. And fact of the matter is, in GT7 EVERY event is a race, you start on a grid, get on a track against others, and race for positions. More proof its an invalid excuse. Its not just a driving experience. Truck Simulator is a driving experiences. Going on grass is almost non existent, as is in many cases hitting walls. They just bounce you back. The tyre model is nowhere near as complex as other sims. Again, it is a sim, for sure, simply not as deep in the physics. As for AC, on controller or racing wheel? On controller it is worse, I agree, on racing wheel.... ummm... no. Again, the very thing gt7 players seem to not be able to get to grips with. Oversteering and then trying to bring the car back will snap it if you don't do it right. Unless if i read it wrong. Again Im quickly responding, if I can i will return later for a better look at the comment.
I'm hyped for Evo. Most importantly it should run well, secondly the physics shouldn't be weird and third the graphics should be stable and consistent. Project CARS 3 isn't a looker but the graphics was consistent. I'm just looking for that. Forza isn't consistent. Sometimes it looks good and other times it looks like high res emulated PS2 footage.
I hope AC Evo does get an idea of what it wants to make. GT has always been an accessible game with nothing overly serious in setting that puts focus on your car life journey. The original AC was supposed to match this vibe with a motorsports career perspective but AC Evo should make the AC career experience stand out more. This game going multiplat also spells trouble for FM. 👀 Oh and something needs to be addressed about how AC has just become a platform for mods nowadays that people tie the experience they curate to it. Imagine the disappointment AC on console and ACC has on people who just wanted NoHesi, drift lobbies, free roam maps, those mods do not represent AC but the public has already converted their thinking to that.
@@AutomotiveVP yeah, but even with mods, i think ppl would still choose assetto corsa On ac with mods u can have Better graphics than Gt7, and of course much more Cars! For not talk about the physics... Dont get me wrong i love Gt7 too Its my 2nd favorite car game After AC
I'd be happy to get both games. AC is pretty good for details, but still, GT7 is like seeing the car in the dealership or museum. I really wished to touch them but the guide says no touching 😂
AC Evo will not look or play as good as GT7, but i’m okay with that, it’s really hard to beat GT7. Once there will be mods, its gonna be very close though.
I was about to give this vid a like for the honest and in depth comparison of visual fidelity, but the guy completely lost me on physics remarks. AC’s physics a cheap copy of GT? Wth?
@@olavofernandes7286 Sure but a hot take to say the least. Also a little bit of a logical error since AC has been around for so long. At that time Polyphony had just launched GT6. It wasn’t even the same ballpark in terms of physics.
I guarantee that Kunos had more passion with their racing sim, just like Polyphony. AC Evo is close in terms of car & track detail, but GT7 still takes the crown. Since AC Evo is Next-gen only while GT7 is cross-gen, I hope AC Evo won’t get “Forza’ed” from the “gRoUnD uP”. 😅 Can’t wait to see further news for AC Evo soon!
GT7 is a masterpiece in VR mode. I just wish for the better AI and i'm super happy. Assetto looks amazing too and i will definitely getting it for my PC. Got the latest FM8 and it's one of the biggest disappointments in racing game history.
The techs that they use to make GTs is way too advanced. Classic Japanese way to work. It will still relevant for years without graphic mods or whatever.
I agree, a lot of people always bring up Unreal Engine as the winner, and it is a quality engine, it's what I'm learning in. However, they often forget that the ones not open to the public are also just as good, if not better
I tell this to everyone: even any single game on PC, I've been into VR since the very start in 2015, and nothing on PC is as good as GT7's VR. People might say otherwise, but they're just chatting shit. GT7 is smooth and flawless; it's mind-blowing that it's on a console.
The reason GT7 looks so good comes from them leaving out so damn much 😅 Drive through dirt and gravel, watch your car still have a 5 stage car wash and detail 🤣 Zero and I mean zero dirt and gunk build up on race cars. Just by driving on 1 lap behind someone in a real race car, your windshield develops dirt, gunk from rubber, and smudges and scratches from debris. Physics will always trump graphics when determining a game as sim or sim-cade. GT7 is a sim-cade. It's almost as if they used that last 10% of memory and development that would make it a sim on visuals. While the visuals are great, they get light wrong in many areas. For starters the giant blobs of specular highlights are incredibly wrong and just extra. In real life specular highlights are small and even when driving into the sun directly out eyes stop down just like a camera lens creating starburst of around f/8 or higher. Guess which game chose to actually emulate that? Forza. Each game picks and chooses what part of reality to emulate. The sun in GT7 is just wrong. It looks as if they chose to instead of using a sun model, they chose to use a studio style light instead. Which is why mostly everything looks so dramatic. Reality ain't dramatic ok. You can tell they chose to limit rain, particle effects, vehicle damage, and vehicle destruction (flipping). Lastly every car in GT7 looks like it has a 5 or 7 stage clear coat job, and it has a damn 3 to 5 stage detail and color correction 😅 like every car going to a damn car show or museum. Does any car on GT7 get dirty? No. No exhaust build up on the back of cars, no dirt lines on windshields from wipers, no dirt or gunk on front or rear windshields. No dirt or dust on wheels, tires, body surfaces, etc. No brake dust at all. No haze from sunlight. All trees are static. There's more. So it comes down to what you appreciate visually in a game. GT7 does car models and studio lighting is incredible, but they just ignore everything else visually when it comes to immersion aside from small details like rain droplets reacting to g-forces. If you like everything pretty I can see why ppl gravitate to GT7 visuals. But if you like things dirty, with some grit, there's definitely other options that don't over exaggerate their graphics like film colorists. Has Gran Turismo ever modeled side mirrors breaking or coming off? No.
Assetto Corsa's graphics have never been their most ambitious aspect. As a full simulation, Assetto Corsa 1 is worlds ahead of GT7. While GT7 is a flawless looking SimCade, Assetto Corsa is a very good looking, almost flawless simulation. I am writing as someone who has more than 1500 hours in both games.
@@AutomotiveVP I'm pretty optimistic about it tbh, their VR implementation in the original AC is really good and that one used their own engine. ACC uses Unreal Engine 4, same as WRC. ACE is going to use their own custom graphics engine again so it's likely to be a better experience in VR than ACC.
Neither does the AC evo apparently. Steam page states that you need RX 5600 for recommended settings. Which is a what, like 6 years old mid range gpu that you could get for about $100? Big if true.
I think car paint looks better on AC Evo than GT7 here, although that might just be your terrible screenshots. GT7 paint is way too smooth, AC Evo shows the tiny waves that you see on actual cars and the metallic paint looks absolutely stunning especially that Giulia and 964.
@@olavofernandes7286 I'm talking about the "wavy" thing on car paint, I don't remember what's that called. The close up screenshot of the 190E shows this.
we all know that PRO players are dont care about graphics because they will lower there graphic for more FPS. its ALL about car handling/physics that pop up Assetto Corsa francise.
Can't wait to not be able to run this game above 30fps in VR on minimum settings because Assetto Corsa Competizione is not optimized for VR at all, and this game will probably follow suit.
acc was made on an unreal engine 4 - the worst engine for vr and for simulations. acc was made for console gamers. its not a full sim like first AC. ACEvo is made on their own engine just like first AC. So it will have the best VR in industry, as devs also stated that they got help from russians devs from DCS - the best VR implementators in sim industry.
@@sxdattxb what no DCS VR sucks ass, it takes a 3080ti to *sometimes* get 72 fps with enough graphical fidelity to be able to read cockpit displays and HUDs on a Quest 2/Pro, if the stars align. It's not as bad as ACC, but it takes hella tweaking, and is always on the back foot compared to flatscreen DCS. I say this coming from someone who'd been playing DCS for 2 years, and the last year has been exclusively VR. Also, we can't forget the (recent) time that an oculus update broke DCS for everyone using Oculus Link/Airlink for 2+ months. Everyone on quest had to migrate to 3rd party software like Virtual Desktop to play the game in vr for months. The whole time, DCS was blaming Oculus, and Oculus was blaming DCS.
@@play3rthr339 im talking about implementation, not that it will have dcs performance ac1 have really good vr performance with high fidelity, but also need some tweaking. imo its the best vr you can get in sim racing too. ams2 looks very plasticky and boring with its mexico ppfilters ac evo devs said it will have vr - day one, and they are working hard on vr.
@@play3rthr339 so i think after all that experience dcs devs had after all these years working on it - they could help a little to make ac evo vr even better also kunos devs are not aiming to make power hungry models, maps and effects so it should be very optimized. and then when you will need more fidelity and effects you could put some more mods on it
I will admit that AC (albeit modded) has very good VR, probably the best vr i've seen in sim racing. But DCS VR is far from a product that should be applauded as the best VR in the industry. Of what i've played (which isn't much) that goes to H3VR, but that's made with Unity, which is built to be very good at VR. DCS VR is not nearly as bad as Payday 2 VR tbf, but that's the lowest bar I can think of, aside from ACC itself.
PD and GT7 will always beat other titles when it comes to graphics. PD just fall behind with the actual racing, race rules, penalty system etc. If ACE is the better racer, I'm sure folks will allow them a beat of leeway with the graphics. In the video you mention ACE having a career mode. To be honest GT7 doesn't have a proper career mode.

nah man, you are completely right, but still consoles are existing for kids to feel the wibes an shi. any console gamer with brain is moving to PC after some time
@sxdattxb I have no clue what this other person is saying. Lol. But I've been a console player since a kid. Well, I had a PC where I played a bunch of Nascar games and some flight games back then, but moved to console. It was always just a more simple way of playing. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's for kids. Especially when you have a system like Playstation that still has games only available to that console. I have an issue with my eyes that is not vision related, but something more complicated that no eye doctor cam figure out, so for me, sitting in front of a monitor was the worst option. Even my Trak Racer sim rig setup in front of a TV bothers me when I play. But with all that said, I know I can still use a TV as a monitor and play on a couch. When Xbox Series X ends and we go to the next generation, I'm probably going to build a high end PC. Getting tired of being limited by my consoles. I will still keep getting Playstation though. But everything else I play, I can still play on PC...just better. I've played MSFS 2020 since release, but I'm more interested in playing it in VR and my Series X doesn't have that option. I've always wanted to play DCS and in VR and other racing games that have VR. GT7 in VR spoiled me, and I don't like racing without VR pretty much. Lol. You might wonder why a screen on my face doesn't bother me when I mentioned I can't sit in front of a monitor...it's weird. The pressure on my forehead from the headset helps the issue with my eyes. Again, no eye doctor knows what I'm talking about. Lol 🤷♂️ But I'm going on 40 this year. I definitely wouldn't call consoles for kids. Some of us just prefer the ease of consoles. I don't like how some games may be going to Playstation now though. Gives me more reason to switch to PC. No need for 2 consoles.
@@joescivic well i agree that initial user experience on consoles is pretty good. its easy to setup, just a few cables and press of a button. consoles have exclusives, but this generation those are extremely garbage and they also are getting ported to pc after some time all previous generations it was night and day. really good games, pretty nice experience. but currently its not even stagnating, its straight up profits maximization, where its at best just a sterile plot and direction, but mostly just straight up lgbtq propaganda and other "new western values". im also old enough to wait for a game to be ported to pc, so i fully skipped this generation of consoles and wouldnt regret. i also will patiently wait for gta6 to release on pc, because having your own first experience on a high refresh rate, high resolution and high settings with all the technologies- is way better experience overall than to have console to replay a game after it released on pc pc can be used like a console - you connect it to the tv, turn on dualsense, use trackpad on it to navigate windows and launch a game, boom you have better experience in game. you can upgrade pc, "buy" games for free on known sites (to play it like a demo version before buying), overall just a better bang for a buck. and yes, vr on pc is the next step of gaming evolution, just like in the old books so yeah im not buying consoles until i see like 5 good exclusive games releasing in a row as far as i can see - theres none on the horizon

Damn looking at GT in vr up close it's almost like you can smell the car like the tires, interior seats and dashboard on the car.... it's amazing🤩
I thought I was the only one thinking the same 😂😂😂
GT7 in VR is especially impressive when you own or know how given car looks like in reality and then you go into VR and every bit is just where it is supposed to be.
Probably the leaked ps5 pro will be the juice hopefully

Wrong
@hompnomp8553 I think the author just got the Porsche model wrong. Check out the Porsche 911 Turbo (930) '81 from GT7, it has that metal ring on it
polyphony digital are arthisian when it comes to detail car models but ac is still nice maybe 2nd place when it comes to detail very close to polyphony digital
Damn man... the detail in both games is really crisp 👌😘
Not mentioning the amazing VR Replay from the track as spectator. all this good vibes are in my video here:

ACE taking over from GT7 is like a son taking over Dad's business and crushing it. From ACE POV, great job. From GT7 POV, it's bitter sweet knowing someone outdid the technical best in the industry. If ACE does actually beat GT7 when it's out, imagine GT8 when it inevitably releases on PC.
It's a good time to be a sim enjoyer
tbf these are almost two different genre of games
gt7 being a good simcade with sandbox like mechanics, developed to meet standards of console gaming with big support to controllers
ac was a full on simulator with no real support to controllers (only a few years ago added good support with mods) just a raw - "take any car and drive anywhere you want and thats it"
so realistically it cant take the crown of gt7 because its competitors are games like forza, test drive, project cars, etc sandbox simcades
and ac competitors are iracing, rfactor, le mans ultimate, automobilista, few others

This new ACE looks really good so far. I'm hoping it's a great game. Been thinking about getting acc
Get it now while it's on sale!
Lots discussed… I truly hope AC bring it and deliver a game we’re all wanting fingers well and truly crossed.
It seems very nice by the pic. I love the Assetto saga.
One of them is designed to be a PC sim racer as well.
The one with only a console base will lose to realistic driving simulation.
Nope

He also went on and said this:
“We know that houses made an impression on TDU players,” Creative Director and franchise veteran Alain Jarniou wrote.
These two game. Attention to detail I can't describe it because both perfect. But, Gran Turismo 7 amazing as well.
I play both on PS5. Are these in-game images on PC or PS5? If not, match apples to apples.
ACE is only the promo shots in showroom, 1 GT7 shot is in Scapes, the rest for GT7 is in-game.
even if it doesn't reach gt7 in terms of detail, its still really good.
A good boxing match beetwin those two🙏🏽
1) Actually the GT7 interior was much worse.
Chances are ACE max detail is not different in showroom (it wasn't in AC or ACC, so who knows)
A very important detail, when you sit there and look at the cars to this detail, but not sure how much it even matters in every single other case.
False

If we going by variety and simulation and mods, assetto has always been king, but now it's going to bury all other racing titles
GT7 💪💪💪💪
I love AC and I hope ACE will be even better than AC. I don't care about the GT7 since it's not even on PCs and I won't buy a console for 1 game.
Where's the brands hatch comparison?
I hope AC Evo does get an idea of what it wants to make. GT has always been an accessible game with nothing overly serious in setting that puts focus on your car life journey. The original AC was supposed to match this vibe with a motorsports career perspective but AC Evo should make the AC career experience stand out more. This game going multiplat also spells trouble for FM. 👀
Oh and something needs to be addressed about how AC has just become a platform for mods nowadays that people tie the experience they curate to it. Imagine the disappointment AC on console and ACC has on people who just wanted NoHesi, drift lobbies, free roam maps, those mods do not represent AC but the public has already converted their thinking to that.

It takes 8 months for PD to make 1 car model and they are essentially perfect , AC Evo should not be held to that standard
AC Evo will not look or play as good as GT7, but i’m okay with that, it’s really hard to beat GT7. Once there will be mods, its gonna be very close though.
I think if they had the same budget and talent as Polyphony digital, they can surpass it easily.
Nothing can compete with GT7 on PSVR2.
I was about to give this vid a like for the honest and in depth comparison of visual fidelity, but the guy completely lost me on physics remarks. AC’s physics a cheap copy of GT? Wth?
His opinion
@@olavofernandes7286 Sure but a hot take to say the least.
Also a little bit of a logical error since AC has been around for so long. At that time Polyphony had just launched GT6. It wasn’t even the same ballpark in terms of physics.
If Assetto Corsa EVO can get anywhere close to GT7, then that would be an achievement

@@AutomotiveVP LOUDER sir!!
GT7 in VR2 it has no rivals. that's all.
It's excellent
I tell this to everyone: even any single game on PC, I've been into VR since the very start in 2015, and nothing on PC is as good as GT7's VR. People might say otherwise, but they're just chatting shit. GT7 is smooth and flawless; it's mind-blowing that it's on a console.
The reason GT7 looks so good comes from them leaving out so damn much 😅 Drive through dirt and gravel, watch your car still have a 5 stage car wash and detail 🤣
Zero and I mean zero dirt and gunk build up on race cars.
I am writing as someone who has more than 1500 hours in both games.

acc was made on an unreal engine 4 - the worst engine for vr and for simulations. acc was made for console gamers. its not a full sim like first AC.
Will the love child of PC get thrown into the gutter like forza?
Or will it dethrone the 2 year old cross platform console game?
PD and GT7 will always beat other titles when it comes to graphics. PD just fall behind with the actual racing, race rules, penalty system etc. If ACE is the better racer, I'm sure folks will allow them a beat of leeway with the graphics.

nah man, you are completely right, but still consoles are existing for kids to feel the wibes an shi. any console gamer with brain is moving to PC after some time
@sxdattxb I have no clue what this other person is saying.
Lol 🤷♂️
But I'm going on 40 this year. I definitely wouldn't call consoles for kids. Some of us just prefer the ease of consoles. I don't like how some games may be going to Playstation now though. Gives me more reason to switch to PC. No need for 2 consoles.
@@joescivic well i agree that initial user experience on consoles is pretty good. its easy to setup, just a few cables and press of a button. consoles have exclusives, but this generation those are extremely garbage and they also are getting ported to pc after some time

but currently its not even stagnating, its straight up profits maximization, where its at best just a sterile plot and direction, but mostly just straight up lgbtq propaganda and other "new western values". im also old enough to wait for a game to be ported to pc, so i fully skipped this generation of consoles and wouldnt regret. i also will patiently wait for gta6 to release on pc, because having your own first experience on a high refresh rate, high resolution and high settings with all the technologies- is way better experience overall than to have console to replay a game after it released on pc
pc can be used like a console - you connect it to the tv, turn on dualsense, use trackpad on it to navigate windows and launch a game, boom you have better experience in game.
you can upgrade pc, "buy" games for free on known sites (to play it like a demo version before buying), overall just a better bang for a buck.
and yes, vr on pc is the next step of gaming evolution, just like in the old books
so yeah im not buying consoles until i see like 5 good exclusive games releasing in a row
as far as i can see - theres none on the horizon
@@joescivic im telling you, you are REALLY missing out on an assetto corsa vr experience. its just a better game in terms of driving itself, better physics, im telling this from more than 11 years of driving experience irl. just cant compare ac to gt7. gt7 might be the best of the simcades, but it have too many compromises because its a console game designed for a controller
assetto can also be very beautiful if you need it
you just download a mod, drag archive to ac manager, choose graphics mod and thats it. you can have hundreds of different visual experiences with it. it can be way more beautiful than gt7
yes gt7 is more than a driving game, but for me its just unnecessary bells and whistles
Bro ,gt7 will lose its crown to nfs mobile 😂😂 for real. I don't find new asseto Corsa any good. It's just a textures. The lighting system still feels ancient
Your trolling.gt7 is the best in terms of car models
ACEVO比GT7好!
GT7連ACEVO都跟不上
GT7太爛了! ACEVO讚!!
GT7 and ACEvo are both absolutely beautiful games!
