yeah same with suspension (car will visually lower), brakes (visually change), tires compounds (visually change), and intercoolers (visually change). the flame size with antilag and upgraded turbos will change based as well as the sound. the only thing I wish they would add is visual changes for superchargers. for example, the ford gt, you can see the engine bay through the rear glass. but if you upgrade the supercharger it doesn't visually change. small gripe, but much better than forza
GT7 looks and feels like it's at least 5 years ahead despite Forza Motorsport being a newer game

Been playing GT since the first game when it released so I consider myself a massive GT fan. I have not bought any MTX on the game ever and will never do that either. GT7 isn’t perfect but it’s still an incredible game and I always look forward to new stuff in the game.

Forza does this thing with paint where every car has easily visible orange peel. Some cars have orange peel and some don't. Hell some have orange peel on a few panels and others don't. T10 just threw it on every car and made the paint reflect like a mirror regardless of paint type.

LM55 VGT, the cable connecting the steering wheel to the car in the cockpit moves with the g forces of the car.

Been there since GTSport I think. Theres a lot of details you wouldn't expect to be in a game but then theres GT7 with it's almost perfect replay mode, models and lightning.

Ive actually sat in a S15 and let me tell you that GT7 is so damn close to perfection in their model. There are details that normal people wouldnt even notice in 1000 years like the logo on the side indicators

Actually that's incorrect, of they couldn't get the license the car wouldn't be in the game. They just didn't or couldn't get an actual car to collect the data. Most of their cars are outsourced, even the tracks are outsourced. GT developer does this all themselves which is why they take a while and why their cars exhibit almost the same level of quality across the board.
@evilformerlys4704 i think you misunderstood my comment slightly. I wasn't saying that they didn't get a licence to use the car. I'm merely comparing how bad the model is. It's so bad, it looks like games that make cars look similar but not exact to real cars in order to get around licencing.
As for how they obtain their data, I'm not completely sure, but there are millions of photos and videos on the internet to obtain this data or at least compare their work with to make aure its accurate. They just seemingly got lazy. I've seen kids make more accurate models for AC on PC that are self taught.

"Built from the ground up" has nothing to do with assets. Assets aren't the game, they're just models. "Built from the ground up" means that the game was re-coded from scratch, not that everything in the game was rebuilt. That's _catastrophically_ stupid and inefficient game development; every smart developer re-uses as many assets as they possibly can.

Exactly! People bashed GT7 because of microtransactions but the cars or tracks are not behind a paid DLC, like day one car pass or VIP pass and so go on.
Another point is the "always online" thing. Here in Brazil, some Xbox fanboys websites kept talking about this, saying that Forza never had this problem...but when the new FM got released, nobody pointed at it and said "WTF!!??". I have a Series X and a PS5 and like both. I'm a big fan of GT and FM. But I won't defend a half baked game like the new FM.

Yeh man I was hyped to get FM8, I enjoyed them since 5 & 6 on my xbone and apparently they were the shit ones 🤷🏻♂️. But this new one is awful, it's a disgrace they launched it in this state, it's a utter insult to consumers that they'd serve up this shit and think we'd be happy with it.

I like both the Forza Motorsports series and the Gran Turismo series. I consistently won't touch the latest entries in either series because of the "always online" DRM.
@@SteveBrandon I'm 43 yaers old and I have to say that I don't like this "always online" thing too. These service type games, beside of the fact that you need internet to play solo, always put some content in seasons, week events and so go on. I think that half of the cars from Forza Horizon 5 are locked behind this type of stuff. If you lost the week, you lost the car. They do everything to keep the players coming back in a bad way (at least for me).
Like I said, I don't like this type of business but I like to play FH5, The Crew Motorfest and GT7. I kinda dumped the Motorsport, mostly beacause the career is empty, leveling cars are boring as hell and lock the progress.
To resume the whole thing: I don't like always online, but if the game is good, I play it. But I won't become a "hostage" of season content and I won't pay for a single DLC (except in FH5 that I bought the map expansion because I can play offline)
The car models are incredible on gt7 I just don't like the gameplay personally but I agree it didn't deserve the hate it got Motorsport is really not upto par for this generation but I do prefer the gameplay of Motorsport I think the handling Is more fun for me just ashame the rest of the game is pretty poor

FM has some old 360 modeled cars
FM has missing details on cars
FM materials don't look like the real thing.
FM has grayed out plastic interiors on a lot of cars.
FM has worse car sounds now. It was superior in the past, but not now.
FM parts that should be a glossy pitch black, like the exterior pillars or front and rear garnishes....well they're like a dark gray and have a wierd granite texture to them
FM just adds a bunch of trees all around the track to hide backgrounds, adds trees in places that don't have trees, instead of having an accurate tree line around the track like GT7 has. It's just used in FM to make kids think the game offers more details.
FM adds a bunch of unrealistic effects in the rain to again, distract people from all of the inaccurate details the game has. And the rain also barely moves off the windshield at 200 MPH. It's like the car is moving 20 MPH instead.
FM also like to make everything unrealistically Shiney in the rain as a distraction or wow factor. It's just a bunch of foolery.

Now I say this, and I may have played every GT since release, the first one being in 1997, but I've played every FM since release. The first one since 2005. Since 2005, I always stood on Forzas side, especially since I mainly play Xbox. Ever since I got the first Xbox, each PS has only been used for exclusives. But this new FM is boring as fuck. Basic as fuck too. Boring ass basic menus. The same Repetitive races that aren't fun to do over and over. Being limited on race types to do for career. And the huge fact that every time I load the game up and see my real life car on the main menu, I'm disgusted because it looks nothing like it. The paint colors are so off on so many cars. The car just looks ridiculous that it turns me off. Cockpit is the way I race, and I hate it in this FM. Just plastic and not real looking. GT7 captures a far more realistic look. Maybe play them both. If you're sane, have good eyes, know what you're looking at, then you'd see the same all of us long time forza players see, and see it is ugly as hell compared to GT7.
This FM has no benefit for having a 4K HDR QLED TV. One of the reasons I like these tV's is for the deeper blacks. Everything is light in this instead

The cars in Forza have a damage model, which is why their car models are lower poly than GT7. Both games are great and both have their own cons. So if you have ps play gt if you have xbox play forza, every one wins.

It's kinda crazy to think before Forza added (to horizon) the ray tracing thing where the car can reflect it's own parts on itself, I never really cared about it, because I had never noticed.
but now it's so clear to me that, in gt7, although it's absolutely insanely more detailed and better in every single aspect, the lack of this ray tracing thing bothers me now, not being able to see the reflection of the rear wing on the car for example...

It must take a staggering amount of hours and effort to create even a single car in GT7, and new ones occasionally drop in updates completely free.
The MTX whinging has never made any sense, either. Just by playing the Cafe Menus, Circuit Experiences, Licences, Missions etc while being fast enough to get Gold/1st has you drowning in Credits and top end cars as prizes. I have more gifted cars than I’ve even got round to trying, yet.
And they add PSVR2 support in a free update which transformed the game into something else for me.
PD are busting balls daily. I’ve never needed to buy credits, but I happily did after the PSVR2 update, and again after the Spec II update, as both made me come back and get into it all over again, and I personally wanted to show some love, even though I or anyone else doesn’t need to.

I can't agree with you on the paywall analogy with regards to Assetto Corsa, the game is run by a team much smaller than Polyphony and without a Juggernaut like Sony funding them so revenue has to be made somewhere after paying for expensive licenses fees and time modelling the vehicles used.
The same cannot be said for Forza which is just fucking greed.

Microtransactions aren't the biggest problem of GT7. They forgot to make the GAME ITSELF. There is simply no career mode. The cafe is just pathetic and takes about 7 hours to complete.
As for a hardcore GT fan, this piece of shit is just spit in the face. They somehow managed to make it worse than GT6. GT5 was the last good game in the franchise.

Whether you're a single developer, an indie studio, or even a AAA studio, the models don't matter too much, unless there are misleading claims in the marketing. Please don't assume that if your cars aren't on the same level as those from professional game development studios, people will think they are of poor quality. It's important to remember that those studios have entire teams and budgets dedicated to creating highly detailed cars in controlled environments.

Let me tell you something funny: Wreckfest has some DLCs & there's a mockup Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T called Razor & a mockup Toyota A70 Supra called Speedemon.
Those are mockups and they're banger cars that has a lot of cosmetic parts taken out, yet they look way closer to their IRL counterpart compare to the ones from Forza.

While i agree with Forzas models being terrible I still strongly disagree with the stance "microtrasactions aren't as bad". Original car pricing (on launch day) was geared towards them, there was no way you could buy most expensive vehicles through regular career mode gameplay or you had to resort to an obscene amount of grind. MTX always bring something unpleasant regarding gameplay and/or its loop because there has to be an incentive to spend. In GT7 it used to be both cars priced way beyond what you could earn and races being very low paying. Only massive backlash from fans started changing things for the better. And bringing AC/ACC since neither of them have a proper career mode or their main gameplay isn't hinged on a single player progression system like GT used to have, in other way these games are not competition. In the same vein Ace Combat isn't a competition to MS Flight Sim even though both feature planes and flying. Also don't forget that GT is Sony funded, they can throw all those modelling manhours away for free in an update because they can afford the cost. Kunos (AC dev) is a small team and they had to continuously fund the sustained work on AC and it's DLCs somehow so in my book they get a pass. Forza is still inexcusable.
And yeah, hate towards GT7 was well deserved IMO. Apart from the in-game economy issues, if you bought the game day one to have a classic GT mode in a modern skin (like me) and didn't care for multiplayer/sport mode then you we're sorely disappointed. Between licenses being very easy (and useless beyond I think national A license), races being a rolling start "chase the rabbit" affair, AI having no spacial awareness and generally career being woefully lacking (compared to months worth of gameplay in GT4) criticism levied was justified and changed the game for the better. and yes, old timer fans did criticise all these things as well (case in point: GTPlanet forums, there's no more "old-timey" way of discussing stuff within a fandom than forums). It especially stung me as a long time series fan that once again an anniversary coincides with a game release and no "fan service" or no nostalgia food or any sort of look back on the series has been done. I understand you're a fan, I am too, played every mainstream GT game, but being a fan doesn't mean you can't criticise the things you like and care about, it doesn't mean Polyphony is absolved from the state of the game on release. It was pretty but barebones. And the career mode was not what the fans wanted.
Don't take it as a personal attack, i still enjoyed the video. I'm just not agreeing to all talking points of it regarding GT7 and PD.
Normally I'm not really interested in Playstation exclusives, but if there's one game I want to play, it's Gran Turismo 7. You have no idea how badly I want to play this game. I feel like I could buy a PS5 just to play this game alone
the fact Turn 10 thought it was a good idea to reuse models from 2005 was a good idea is baffling to me like the model looks SOOOO bad compared to GT7 yet the game is a year NEWER then GT7 it is Hilarious. This is what I've been trying to convey to people. Many think I dislike Forza, but in reality, I believe they may not have experienced the Forza 3 and 4 era when the games were created with genuine passion. Nowadays, it seems like they're primarily designed for profit rather than from the heart. Nothing but a quick cash grab!

I’ve never had the opportunity to play gran turismo but holy crap the state of forza is making it very tempting, the models, tracks and the graphics all look Leagues better then forza motorsport even the tiny details like the name branding on the lights is a nice touch

FM is the “no we have car models at home” version of car models.
The problem with the microtransactions is the fact if you want to get, say, the McLaren F1, it would cost you £75 in real money!!!!! For ONE CAR!!!!! That's DISGUSTING!!!!
And there's ALOT of cars that cost that amount in gt7....and there's plenty of people that dint have the time to grind 20 mil for one car....it's just ridiculous, they shouldn't be that much...or. If they are, there should be enough of a race roster to be able to get you those kinds of credits without having to rinse and repeat the same 4 or 5 races ..it's ridiculous.....me personally, I don't have a problem with the whole buying credits thing...MY problem, is the price of the cars in the game...for instance, theres quite a few 3 mil cars...well that would cost you 30 quid for just one!!! Because you can't buy a mil in credits...they either need TO SERIOUSLY improve the race roster, and quick, or they need to re-adjust the prizes for the races, because theres only a VERY small amount that are actually worth doing....OR, make the cars more realistic prices.....
Supposedly the games car prices are meant to reflect real world prices, yet there's soooooo many that are WAY more expensive in game than in reality....not to mention seeing wide body kits that are just wheel arches costing 150k!!!! It's ridiculous!!! All the performance parts are ridiculous prices too...they need to sort it out....
And by the way, I've been a GT gamer from the first one...back from the PS days...

The worst part about any GT game will always be the car selection. Where is the new Mustang? Corvette E-Ray? New WRX? New Prius? Ioniq 5 N? Elantra N? Veloster N even? GT will put a million Skylines and GT-Rs but not cars that people actually drive. You only need one, MAYBE two trims for each car. Why does GT have both the Focus ST and RS? Why not have a Civic Si and Type R if they want to pull that? Where is the Fiesta ST? The car selection makes no sense.

In good news, Polyphony have basically future proofed most of their cars with just how meticulous they went into detail. They'll probably be porting these cars to new Gran Turismos for years to come and we won't even notice because they already look true to life.
I will say that GT7's economy does suck. I can only really play on weekends and vacation so my time is limited. I cannot ever justify dropping $20M in game credits on a car like the Shelby Daytona Coupe (been tempted) as there are so many other more useful cars. In GT Sport, this might have been a $10 microtransaction...maybe $20 but to buy it in GT7, you will need to spend $200! Both would be suspect purchases but 10x is a level of absurdity that few could ever justify.
Just put the time in bro, and eventually you can buy all of the cars with in-game currency. I already bought every Legend car and I just need about 70 more in regular dealership. I have the in game money to buy them all, but I dont just want to purchase them all at once, I really want to purchase each and have some time to enjoy driving them for a bit. It could be done bro
I've done the glitches and even with those I never felt comfortable plopping 20 million credits on an in-game car. I basically have everything else though. The glitch I did the most way with the Tomahawk on Tokyo and... that was like 2 million per hour? 10 hours of life for a car was too much for me 😂
@@highpriest90 Fair play if you have that kind of time. I own 191 cars (I own all the used cars), have driven over 18,000 miles and 84:42 hours according to the game and spent over 120 million credits. I also enjoy making liveries so my time is not spent grinding and I've never used any glitches.
And yeah the roulette thing is dumb too.
But this is another win for GT7, 20mil drop on in game car simulates real life buyer's remorse... You can't get more real. So much time/effort invested is it worth it 🤔
What made me uninstall Forza FOREVER after de latest release was the horrible rubbish carsounds. GT7 is also terrible in soundengine. But yeah it looks better than Forza. But it's absolutley lacking in every aspect when it comes too speed and tuning and customization.
As an S15 owner myself, I find this video really interesting. GT7 is amazing and feels like seeing the real car in person, it blows my mind. Forza's model is like one of those indie crappy games from Steam that uses unbranded copies of the car, which is nice for them but an insult for a multi billion dollar company like Microsoft.

If the raytracing in it is the result of all of their resources, they must have had a smaller budget than an indie mobile game. Even GT7 has a better implementation of raytracing.

The main problem with the microtransactions in GT7 is that actually grinding was really bad at the launch of the game. They responded by making it easier to actually earn money in game. It’s not a problem now like it used to be, but at launch it was super frustrating.
I don't hate forza but my first video game as a kid was Gran Turismo i always been a fan of em Gran Turismo idk i always loved there car models because there detailed like cray forza idk they have the same model s15 n other cars Gran Turismo has a lot better graphics and physics in my opinion

The main problem with gt7 is the career and some dumb gameplay decisions they made , it's built on a very solid platform and its graphics and driving should be an example to the industry

I totally know that GT7'S models, quality, and shading is far better than FM, But the s15 in FM is the same model they used back in FH3, along with most models Forza has ported ever since early Xbox one days.
Once Forza actually remakes the models instead of porting, and work on the shading, shadows and lighting quality, then it might stand toe to toe with GT

As someone who’s been a forza fanboy since the very order ever game, I can’t believe how bad the newest one is in terms of just car quality… recycling the same models for 10+ years is mind blowing. I’ve never played GT but I can tell you now they have some of the cleanest models out there. There’s a reason we are porting them to Assetto and using them as bases for everything. Especially the S Chassis.

The struggle is real. I'm 41, been with the series since it first appeared in demo discs. I'll admit since prices are egregious at 20 million, but the people who complain about micro transactions overlook that everything in the game is free. No dlc car packs to purchase, every update just gives you everything. The people complaining about micro transactions probably never grinded the same race over and over again to afford the viper. But when you got it, that feeling was second only to Christmas morning as a kid!!!
Pretty sure the FM4 models looked better than this.
