I love the video. You did not rush thru it, as other videos have done; and it allows me to double check my work with pausing the video; but also no other distractions like some videos do. Thank you. PS would love to see you do more beading videos.

Waxing the thread coats the thread and almost lubricates it. It helps reduce wear on the thread as it is repeatedly brought through the beads. It helps to keep the thread undamaged and strong, it reduces the chance of fraying. That is the true reason for using wax on threads.

Yakoke hoke for posting this video! I enjoyed learning how to make them at the Seattle/Tacoma Cultural Meeting 2 years ago. It's been nice to make these earrings as gifts for my families and others since learning - everyone's really appreciated them.
Hope to see more chahta beadwork tutorials in the future - particularly for those projects that ya'll don't have time to teach folks at the cultural meetings - like the seed bead collar for our regalia. haha myself and others in the Choctaw Beading and Sewing Inspiration group on FB have been trying to figure out how to make those for quite some time. Those in there that know how to do it say it's just like the bugle bead version the collar but I think having a tutorial showing how to do it would help a lot!

I do these earrings, but I don't do it directly on the hook. I make them on a 4 mm closed jump ring, then attach the 4 mm closed jump ring to the earring hook.
