Received this as a kit via the summer reading program. I worked on them today. I love them, so pretty. Your video was very well done, the only thing not real clear was how much of the thread to use per earring, but having had some beading experience in the past I was able to make it work. The big blue bead provided has a hole too big, it was allowing the seed beads to go up inside the hole, so I switched out the big bead for one in my bead collection and used a small silver accent bead, it worked wonderfully. Your useage of the bigger beads made understanding what was going on sooo much easier. Thank you!

Thank you for the clear, easy instructions! The use of pony beads to show what is happening is brilliant. This has saved me a lot of restringing just learning how to attach it to the fishhooks!! Mvto! 🦅💜

I took many beading classes when I first started years ago. The instructor, for most bead stitches, used the large pony beads to show use how to work the stitch so it was very clear what she was doing. Before we started on the project, she had us also make a short sample of the stitch also using the larger bead. We kept this in front of us as we worked. I still have those samples. You are the only other person I've ever seen use this same instructional step. One difference...instead of thread she used the narrow ribbon used for gift wrapping - the type that can be made to curl. Inexpensive & easy to work with.

I love that she mentioned the right mindset and mood as well! 👍
In my culture, when we're beading and creating items (especially to gift to others) we are taught to ONLY work on it when happy, good moods, clear minds, thinking about positive things. This is because what we put into our beading (or other art project) absorbs our emotional energies and when we give these items to another individual, we only want to be passing along the good and positive energies (or "vibes" as some say). My Nookoo (granny) has a rule in endaad (her home) - absolutely gaawiin (NO) manidoominensike (beading) if giin ezhi (you are) nishkatentam (angry)!!! Lol 🤭 But it worked for her, and it seems to work for my dad, my brother, myself and my daughter as well. 😊
I've come to learn to never question the words or sage advice of my dootem (clan) and my ogitiziiman (elders)!! 🤗 They're wise beyond my years for a a reason. 😁💪🧡

    Boozhoo, 👋
Miigwech for this helpful video! Minonaagoon, the earrings - niminwenimak! 😊 My favorite pastime is manidoominensike. It's like therapy that I don't have to pay for! Lol
It's so nice to see a strong and talented Lady 💪 representing the Turtle Mountain Chippewa 🧡
I'm also a descendant of the the Turtle Mountain Chippewa and have some Sioux heritage. 🤗 I currently live in Ontario, Canada, but half of my paternal family is from (and still remains) primarily in Red Bear Tribal Nation (my 8th cousin is the current Grand Okimakan Premier), and a few of nindinawemaganak in the Red Lake area of Montana (I also directly descend from Little Shell and Rocky Boy, so family members were/still are part of/what remains of both their Reservations).
Love your work and your videos! 😍 Again, ginanakomin! 🐃🧡🐻🐾
