    "obviously you put oil in it, If you don't do that, well you're just an idiot" LMAO!! classic. Thanks for the video. Just bought a 2017 Continental Black Label with the 3.0L. Always change my own oil for the past 20 years. Crawled under this and saw the plastic plug and no oil filter . . . Googled some basic information, and BAM! there you are. Thanks for the details. Seems like the first Lincoln to have the paper filter on top like most German vehicles, odd, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

    Thank you for this video. I did mine today for the first time since owning it for two years. It was super easy. I took the bottom cover off but looking at your video again, it doesn't seem to have to come off. Easiest oil change of any car I've ever owned.

      I removed the bottom cover surrounding the plug under the car. I watched a vid on a hybrid model where he removed it. I just assumed it needed to be removed on the 6 cylinder as well. Nope! Filter is different too and way easier plug as well.

    Great video. I took one look under mine and couldn't find a drain plug or filter anywhere. Turns out its cause they redesigned a classic plug and hid the filter under the hood. Thanks for the video.

      I will be buying the 3.0 as having the filer on top, means I can drain oil with a pump thru the dipstick, no getting under the car, sweet!

    Good video as I've never done an oil change without a standard oil flter and standard plug and crush washer. One thing I would have done is make sure there was a smear of clean motor oil on the 3 o'rings to make sure they slide nicely into place, and that they will come off without sticking.

    I finally did it today. Easy except the oil shot out beyond my collection pan. I even opened the cap and removed the filter 1st. Made a mess.
    Do I need to torque it when replacing the drain plug? I just twisted it by hand and it snapped in place. Thanks for the video!

    Very straightforward and you finished with some wise words.
    "If you don't put oil in it well then you're just an idiot"!!!
    Thanks.

    Hey how do you like the car? I just got a 2018 3.0 awd mkz reserve.
    Have you done a transmission fluid change yet? I need to do one as car just turned 30,000 miles.

    • @tjohanson
      @tjohanson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love it. You mean PTU fluid? Transmission fluid should be left alone at 30,000.

      @@tjohanson pretty sure it says to change ATF at 30k miles. Something about the filter is inside and can't be cleaned or changed so supposed to change out every 30k. But there isn't much online about the mkz.
