I bought my 2017 MKZ 3.0T AWD w/28k mi for $24.5k. Now I have about 64k mi on it. It's a blue one.. I drive 86 mi a day round trip. Some would say why have it you're just wearing it out. I love this car, you feel the acceleration in your stomach at times. It still has the original brakes. I did have to buy tires, and I think because of the AWD they tend to wear faster. It's great in the snow. I leave it in sport mode all the time. I like messing with the other brands at times, as far as take off. Funny story with the 600 hp Caddy CTS-V, he tried getting away from me, as we were on the highway for quite a while, he would accelerate, I would accelerate, just playing, not flat out racing, I know he went home that day saying what the hell was that thing.
I love my MKZ..I get compliments all the time. I love the speaker system..I replaced 2 of my door speakers because I busted them🤭..I always drive in S mode🤷🏽♀️. ❤️
Sport seems to be too aggressive for daily driving for me, but drive was not quite enough... So I modified drive to be a little more aggressive, but not as aggressive as sport. Seems to work pretty well now. Just a little more fine tuning before I release the files.

Got a 2017 MKZ 3.0 AWD Reserve...love it. It is getting the cylinder heads replaced under warranty so I’m glad I didn’t tune yet. But I want to do E30..I’m just scared of it harming the fuel lines etc
The E30 will not harm the fuel lines, pump, seals, ect. We have been mandated E10 for quite a while now so the manufacturers are making sure everything is ethanol compatible. The only thing you need to consider is that ethanol does not have the shelf life of gasoline, so if you plan on storing for the winter or something you need to get the ethanol out of it before you store it.
the traction control can really put someone in a bad situation. I leave it off unless i remember to turn back on in rain. I had to jump out into heavy traffic while making a turn and it kicked out of gear on me when I needed the power at that moment. it doesnt snow here in Jacksonville (except 1" in 1991) not needed. I have a 2015 lincoln MKs 52,000 miles 3.7 police interceptor motor. the torque surprises many! Challengers/Chargers in rear view mirror!

@@coyotecarguy2076 Did you see the recent photos taken just outside Ford’s Experimental Vehicles facility at Flat Rock? “Appears to be” and 2023 S650, AWD and likely powered by a Coyote with a Bullitt/Mach 1 tune. For those of us up in the frozen tundra that is interesting indeed. But it’s going to take something pretty special to make it worth giving up my AWD 2019 3.0TT MKZ. But, if Ford did put together a AWD Mustang for 2023 that had enough of the creature comforts I’ve gotten attached to, I’d definitely check it out!
I figured they were related, but recently realized just how similar this engine is to the 2.7 eco boost. I can buy most parts listed for the 2.7 and put them in my 3.0 Lincoln. You can easily tune this thing to get 15% more power out of it. Do your research, but start searching with the Fusion Sport for parts and see what else you can find.

That would be interesting. I have mainly focused on the domestics in terms of comparisons. It has already taken out the Gen2 Coyote Mustangs and SS Camaros. Should be able to take down a 392 Charger.

I have a 3.0 awd 2017. I was playing around with the q60 (was thinking about getting but bought the mkz) but the q60 was having problems keeping up with me finally I think he just gave up when I was around 145 he was a little far back

Got a 2017 2.0 AWD I believe it's 245 HP what can I do to get more HP and torque.. Also mine is triple black.. black grill, 22s, mkz brake caliper covers, & black n red Maserati trident emblems.. I had a Maserati quattroporte, also have the emblem 🔱 tatted on my neck, had to get emblems for the Lincoln... Loving it just need some more power..thanks
I have actually had tunes available for the 2.0 for some time now. I work with a company called CD# Performance for those. They specialize in aftermarket parts for the Fusion/MKZ platform. He sells my tunes for me. Go to their website. If you need a programmer, they have those as well. Just look for the "Tuning by James" tunes to go with it! Also, make sure you are selecting the 2017+. There were some engine and calibrations changes in 17.
Maybe you meant 3.0T. They didn’t offer a 3.7T. The FWD is tuned down to 350 and for good reason. The torque steer can be pretty aggressive and throw you all over the road.
I bought my 2017 Black Label last week. I flew to Chicago and drove it 9hrs home. That drive was a true joy. The car is loaded except for the panoramic roof and the sound system is awesome. After 5hrs the car told me it was time to rest...WHAT? I am in love with this car. And only 35k miles.

Livernois numbers were almost identical to yours as well. So the real rating is more like 400hp/450tq, and not the listed 400hp/400tq. Thank you for posting this
Personally I prefer the buttons. Gives a very tactile feel. I can "feel" my way around the controls and make changes without taking my eyes off of the road.
Keep in mind the HP rating from the factory is at the flywheel. These numbers are at the wheels. There can be a 20% or more loss at the wheels. Check out my Facebook page for the writeup of the tuning process.
I have the same car, same color and same package except it's not a black label but has the Drivers package. I'm not sure if that comes with the black label. That torque vectoring in the drivers package makes those horses handle better. Awesome 20 speaker stereo too. What's the fuel economy in the city with the e30 tune? Gas prices is killing me.
Yes, mine has the drivers package (it was optional on Black Label) as well with the torque vectoring... and that really makes a huge difference when you are catching that light after coming off of the highway! Hit the throttle mid corner and it pulls the car through the turn. Really is helpful! As for fuel economy, it was getting 31mpg on 93 when I was behaving myself (kind of). On E40 I am between 22-25 in the "Death Race" that is south Florida traffic.

@@johnlam924 In most cases, yes. One of the common misconceptions is that you need to sacrifice economy, emissions, or something else in order to get power. One of my main goals is to work as much efficiency as I can out of the engine. Gone are the days of sacrifice.
I cannot speak for anyone else's tunes, just mine. You have to do the math. Right now I actually have it running on a "flex" tune where it will learn the ethanol content. Seems to be working pretty well so far.
Looking to get a 2018 continental 3.0 twin turbo 400hp but im really not liking the 6 speed transmission dose anybody know if it's possible to swap it out with the 10 speed from a mustang?
Considering that it gets 31MPG on 93 octane, it is more "Eco" friendly than a good deal of cars on the road today... especially those making 450 wheel.
Since there's no aftermarket axles for this Lincoln it's not recommended to put more power in it than when this one is making if you do you're probably going to start breaking a lot of stuff

Adam Martin . . E30 can be anywhere from 96 octane to around 100 octane it depends if the 30% ethanol was mixed with true 93 octane or even 91 octane gas. . so the total octane of E30 can vary
Lmk I just got a 3.7 14' and love it I'm trying to turn if I got to add after market anything can someone point me in the direction. Ive been sleep but I am woke I want to get the Hennessy edition SUV but if I could get close to 6 in the 14 then hell ya but if I cant hit more than 4 on my 14' now I won't tune and just try to get the 17'18' or Hennessy edition

Similar story. I found a 2017 MKZ drivers package, originally $58k, for $24.5k with 25k miles on it. The only thing is the drivers package has the carbon fiber trim and makes it look cheap.
It has a special block made only for the Lincolns and it's stock 400hp in the AWD versions.. the rear wheel drive version is only 350hp.. and to tune it and only get 50 more hp is a waste.. you can do a REAL tune with NO HARDWARE added and get 500hp with E85..
Zsavage1 .. if you look at the before and after graph he made an additional 116 whp with a tune on E30 torque jumped from 396 to 512 ft/lbs. . until he gets high strength axles it makes no sense to go any further
4 cylinder ecoboost engines are complete trash. 6 cylinder is not bad. & to add one more thing, the 6F55 is not a piece of shit. One of the more reliable transmissions in Ford's recent lineup. The 8 speed and 10 speed have been complete garbage.

Does the Livernois tune make any difference in the D and S modes? Do they both drive the same, or is the Drive mode still more sedate than Sport?

I have a 2017 MKZ with the 3.O T AWD which has 400 HP just curious what went into the custom tuning, I'm sure mine should make more HP.

Keep in mind the HP rating from the factory is at the flywheel. These numbers are at the wheels. There can be a 20% or more loss at the wheels. Check out my Facebook page for the writeup of the tuning process.
Mine is the same configuration, i just added a livernois tune. Very, very noticable, highly recommended
I have the same car, same color and same package except it's not a black label but has the Drivers package. I'm not sure if that comes with the black label. That torque vectoring in the drivers package makes those horses handle better. Awesome 20 speaker stereo too.
What's the fuel economy in the city with the e30 tune? Gas prices is killing me.

Yes, mine has the drivers package (it was optional on Black Label) as well with the torque vectoring... and that really makes a huge difference when you are catching that light after coming off of the highway! Hit the throttle mid corner and it pulls the car through the turn. Really is helpful! As for fuel economy, it was getting 31mpg on 93 when I was behaving myself (kind of). On E40 I am between 22-25 in the "Death Race" that is south Florida traffic.
@@tuningbyjamesllc3468 so getting it tuned will give you more performance and milage? So far stock, I'm only getting 17 to 18 mpg in the city as advertised using 94 octane. We don't have 93 in Canada.
@@johnlam924 In most cases, yes. One of the common misconceptions is that you need to sacrifice economy, emissions, or something else in order to get power. One of my main goals is to work as much efficiency as I can out of the engine. Gone are the days of sacrifice.

I cannot speak for anyone else's tunes, just mine. You have to do the math. Right now I actually have it running on a "flex" tune where it will learn the ethanol content. Seems to be working pretty well so far.

Looking to get a 2018 continental 3.0 twin turbo 400hp but im really not liking the 6 speed transmission dose anybody know if it's possible to swap it out with the 10 speed from a mustang?
I dont think that the ecu can be adjusted to handle a 10 speed check with the tuner he would let you know for sure

It's not an ecoboost engine. It wasn't developed to eco friendly or economical. It's simply a 3.0 liter turbo.
Considering that it gets 31MPG on 93 octane, it is more "Eco" friendly than a good deal of cars on the road today... especially those making 450 wheel.

It was just a tuning issue I don't believe it was related to the traction control james did work it out with the tune

Since there's no aftermarket axles for this Lincoln it's not recommended to put more power in it than when this one is making if you do you're probably going to start breaking a lot of stuff

Adam Martin . . E30 can be anywhere from 96 octane to around 100 octane it depends if the 30% ethanol was mixed with true 93 octane or even 91 octane gas. .
so the total octane of E30 can vary

The 3.0 makes the most. The other engines are a 3.7 and a 2.0. The 3.0 is the most powerful.

Ive been sleep but I am woke I want to get the Hennessy edition SUV but if I could get close to 6 in the 14 then hell ya but if I cant hit more than 4 on my 14' now I won't tune and just try to get the 17'18' or Hennessy edition

Similar story. I found a 2017 MKZ drivers package, originally $58k, for $24.5k with 25k miles on it. The only thing is the drivers package has the carbon fiber trim and makes it look cheap.

It has a special block made only for the Lincolns and it's stock 400hp in the AWD versions.. the rear wheel drive version is only 350hp.. and to tune it and only get 50 more hp is a waste.. you can do a REAL tune with NO HARDWARE added and get 500hp with E85..
Zsavage1 .. if you look at the before and after graph he made an additional 116 whp with a tune on E30 torque jumped from 396 to 512 ft/lbs. . until he gets high strength axles it makes no sense to go any further
How long did the engine last?
Ecoboost engines love tunes and last really long with them only thing I'd worry about are those 6 speed trans they are the biggest peace of shit
4 cylinder ecoboost engines are complete trash. 6 cylinder is not bad. & to add one more thing, the 6F55 is not a piece of shit. One of the more reliable transmissions in Ford's recent lineup. The 8 speed and 10 speed have been complete garbage.
@PlazmaWizard idk if it's the same trans in my 19 explorer sport it must be or atleast similar but this trans loves to have issues and I'm not the only one that ik with trans problems
