My first sea posting aged 17 as a UC was Torrens 3L mess Nov75 -June 78 then went to Supply. Good mates with Alan Von Senden, Mick Short, Sandy Nelson, Steve Bliss Fox brothers Shotgun Cannon and others was a great time I paid off in 95.

@@Semajsenrab72 fair call , I was on the carrier Melbourne 1980 to 82 , 2 delta stbd mess , did a trip with Torrens up top in 80 , we lost 2 sky hawk jets inside 14 days , that's how the old man knew where i was after Perth
Ah the Rivers. I never served on them but I do wonder what a sailor on the Sydney V or Adelaide III would think if they had to serve on one of these ships.
I know guys who were on Stuart, then Perth, Syd IV and now Syd v, the leaps and bounds in tech is amazing, no more 50 man mess decks on new ships like DDGH. They all still ride rough in a little weather
Worked on both of those ships. Great days back then 1973 to 1982 Williamstown
Brought back happy memories. I served in HMAS Torrens 80-82.
Me too 81-82. ABETC ‘Grizzly’ Adams.
So did I 👍🏼

Fast backdown approach on Sydney and Torrens in Standby station. Serious fun. I was in Derwent late 89/70; Torrens 72/73
Worked on all those ships great days at Williamstown dock yards 😊
