I'm so glad you are creating a website. What good does it do to see all these wonderful varieties of Dragon Fruit if we do not know where to get them? Can you recommend where to look on line? for dependable reasonably priced cuttings?
Hi Richard! You have been my inspiration! Thank you for all your passion, experience and attention to detail. I've been watching your videos for a long time and I have finally made my trellis and have a few dragon fruit plants growing. What are a few dragon fruit plants that are my must haves according to your opinion? How about naming a few that produce fruit without pollination and a few that do. Really appreciate any advice! I want to collect several varieties!

Are there two distinct varieties, Sour Patch Watermelon, and Sour Patch Kids? I see some DF growers from Hawaii got cuttings from you, and they call the variety Sour Patch Kids. Is it a name mix-up?
Sir can u please give me some more details on red flesh dragon fruit plant I want to buy the plant please I am having some problem to differentiate between the white flesh dragon fruit
I would also like some clarification. Richard does at one point call it sour patch kids in the video. The guy I got my cutting from said he origionally got it from Richard so I'm guessing it's Sour Patch Watermelon?
That dragonfruit looks really nice? Love your videos btw. I’m growing some American beauty right now. I’m really excited to taste but that watermelon one looks like it would be fun to grow.
Hi Richard...my rooted dragon fruit cuttings are r thinning after I had kept them under sunlight.. now I moved them under shade.. will they be fine or will they die? What should I do
Great videos bro...you can be a great teacher....I heard from one of the videos that ...during off season you can try spraying water from near the pot to top..thus allowing the water to fall on them for some days or so...which mimics rain...and that helps to induce flowering during off season...may be you can try that method on a plant and share the results with us....Regards from India...
Mybe its a American beauty/pink panther hybrid because of the watermelon flavor and lighter color...probably an American beauty pollinated with pink panther pollen?

Hey, Richard , I’ve been following you since I started to plant dragon fruit like two months ago, so I’m very new. I have one situation really need your help. One branch is started to rot at the bottom, it becomes yellowish and you can see the inside is watery and soft. But the branch itself is like 1 meter long and have 4/5 very healthy branches on top. What should I do? I hate to cut them into pieces to plant start from beginning. Would you please advise? Thanks so much.
No te preocupes más sólo retira esa parte podrida raspa bien hasta que no quede nada de esa pudrición limpia y desinfecta. Y así las veces que se de eso lo haces. Ok
Amazing video 👌🏾 a thought had crossed my mind. The naming, is there no possible trademark trouble? In the cannabis industry, the company Gorilla Glue had a case against the creators of the cannabis strain "Gorilla Glue #4". I believe they sued them because of the name? 🤷🏽♂️ Could that be a problem if your phenotypes(varieties) of pitaya get very popular?
It must mean that your dragon fruit isn't mature enough to produce fruits yet. You can help stimulate it by using a blooming fertilizer. I use Floranova Bloom.
No use of seeds Nirmal, will take 4-5 years to fruit. Best to start from stem cuttings. We already have the Purple variety available in India and its everyone's favourite!
There are soo many dragon fruit varieties out there that its so easy to mix things up and even mislabeled it. I got it as American Beauty from another grower but it wasn't the AB when I tried the fruit and it tasted completely different. I would suggest any variety that is self pollinating and self fertile. Here's a list of a few starters. American Beauty Vietnamese White Sugar Dragon White Sapphire

I contacted the grower but he doesn't remember that he even gave me an AB and even got rid of that plant because he wanted space. As I tried the fruit I noticed it wasn't the same flavor profile as AB. Its Self-fertile but needs help with hand-pollinating. To not confuse myself in my own garden, I ended up renaming it to what it most resembles and taste like to me. That's how Sour Patch Watermelon came about.

@ the 4:25 mark of this video, he said it is very similar to Sour Patch Kids
I found an Ecuador Palora at a local Asian market, so I’m gonna try to grow it. Wish me luck, I only have 1 dragon fruit plant at the moment.
I also live in South Carolina, so it won’t be easy keeping these plants alive.

Does dragon fruit stalk have to be three ways, like a triangle? I think I may have some flat stalks growing?
No te preocupes que salgan planos eso es normal en la planta. A mí me agradan esos. Y también los puedes plantar t se ven bonitos como planta madre.
I’d like to buy a sour patch watermelon cutting please let me know how I can get some
Is sour patch watermelon also self-pollinating?
It is self-fertile but will need hand-pollination with its own pollen. Sometimes i've seen it self-pollinate but its a 50/50 chance.
Hi Richard, why my Dragon fruit have flowers, then after the all the buds turn yellow? Fall off

From what you saw of the flower of the Sour Patch DF did it look like maybe it could be self fruitful?
Yes, it looks like it can be self-pollinating but varies from flower to flower.

It was in my early stages and found this grower when I was looking for American Beauty.

So is this a sister to AB? Or a mix of AB and something else? 😎😎😎
