- Grafting Rare Cuts onto Vietnam Root Stock. This Vietnam plant already gave me over 30 fruits this year, I decided to cut it down and graft rare cuts on it. Grafting is fun, you should do it as well.

Great video, the best I've seen on grafting on living rootstock outside. Can't wait to try it.
AWESOME!!! A gave away a few baby sugarcane to a local gardener friend and she gave me a baby dragon fruit!!! I love eating/drinking dragon fruit juice but never grow one LoL I appreciate the helpful video...
That is awesome!
Nice job. Thanks for posting! Good luck from Texas!
That is a thick rootstock. Nice drill.

Great 👍 video. Thank you 🙏
Thank you too!
you are very good, this is great dude
You are the best
This method is very affective I just did mine and success
It's fun when you have a thick cambium
Very well explained instructions. Can I use a longer cutting to graft to the rootstock? Thanks.
You can but it’s always good to use about 3-6 inches cut graft so it can heal and seal faster and push out new growth.
thank you sir
Most welcome
Super helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Just subscribed good content

Best season for grafting temprature and humidity?
In my experience, dragon fruit can be grafted anytime as long you cover with plastic bag (5-7 days). But the best time to graft is Spring to Autumn if you’re starting out.
Do you have a follow up video on the progress?
Wow , thats amazing thick rootstock!
What's your method to get that thickness?
Overtime as it gets matured, it will thicken
Does draft make the dragon fruit flavor taste different ? Or why is it good for ?
Fruit flavor doesn’t change from grafting. Graft makes plant grows faster than rooted
The gap on that Bruni graft tho
Hey, they heal but do they grow any new shoot from the grafted cuts done this way? Do you have an update video?
Yes they do. I’ll update a video soon
When is a good time to grafted? It’s end of November now , can I still grafted?
Yes anytime
Thank you
what time will they yield fruit on that plant, since it is mature already
Throughout the summer (may- Sept)
I have tried Richard’s cleft graft successfully. What is the percentage of success u have on this. Have you ever tried cleft graft
Cleft graft is good but it’s ugly in my opinion. I preferred horizontal graft. 90% successfully
is it okay to leave that graft on that sunny area? won't that dry?
You can graft on a sunny day under the shade and keep your plants covered with foil if there’s no shade
@@tristardragonfruit thanks tristar!
I'm guessing it's ok if it's drilled a bit deeper?
Yes as long the cambium matches to the end of the hole
@@tristardragonfruit typically how long does it take to heal? And then how long you would see growth on the graft? In Richard videos, he mentioned you should keep ur graft in the shade. You graft it directly on to the plant outside. Is there extra step to do to insure the successful rate?
@@hungchu4653 after I put the tape on, I use a foil to cover the graft to prevent direct sunlight. It normally takes 5-10 days to heal.
I like the video could you show me more
What would you like to see more?
that is brutal you sir are a butcher
Can I get the link to the cutter on Amazon
Very cool but my ears were buzzing every time you said cambien. It's cambium lol. Now let me get my drill 😃
Thanks for watching
Je veux greffé le mélange rouge et blanc pour que je puisse fécondé merci
Whats the success rate of grafting it like this
95%
I grafted a Palora scion similar way onto a red rootstock its 33days its successful i can see its thick again but it hasnt put out new growth yet its in full sun..and the other 2Paloras scion are cleft grafted their like 28 & 30days old...So am just waiting for them to put out new growth
I’m going to attempt to graft dragon fruit to opuntia prickly pear cactus
Let me know how that goes
@@tristardragonfruit definitely! I’ll be back to share my results
Love to know how that turns out. I considered grafting to a peruvian apple cactus, but I thought of so many things that could go wrong even if the graft was successful I gave up on it.
Bro do you have LD5 variety of dragon fruit..?
LD5?
If you are living a tropical climate, how you get fruit to bear quickly .
Grafting speed up the growing period
Is it possible to buy some branches?
Message me on Instagram
Good but hopefully it is not at the expense of the happiness of the family.
Ok
great video, but that variety is a fake zamorano
I never grew zamarano…I tossed that out before going into the trellis
