Done mine this week. Same car, same problem. Went into limp mode. Took it out and poured 'DPF off car cleaner' in to it and left for 8 hours, shaking it now and again. Blasted it through with a pressure washer to clear it out and fitted it back onto my car today. Worked great car is back to full power. 👍

Just had the same work done on my MK2.5 Focus (1.6 TDCI) this week. Its taken 116k miles for the DPF to get blocked but it was obvious that it wasn't working right. Had it all cleaned out, and a service done and the car feels fantastic again, like new!

Looks alright - you don't need to take off the fan - it creates a lot more work and you need to refit it before reinstalling the dpf - which is harder than taking it out anyway

Where does the service message Diesel particle filter soon clogged come from on a 1.6 HDI engine code 9HZ with a mileage of approx. 200,000 km. The differential pressure sensor reports a difference of 4 mbar. I think it's an electronic error that turned on the service lamp and not the DPF is defective. How can I reset the service light? or is this service message automatically produced at around 200,000 km? Thanks

I've got a dpf problem, engine management light on stuck in limp mode. I've already sprayed Mr. Muscle in several hoses to clean the egr valve and the turbo. Still in limp mode. My next move is to remove the hoses from the dpf presure sensor and spray Mr. Muscle into the hoses so it goes directly into the dpf filter for 2 hours then to take it for a good motorway run in 4th gear. That should clear it hopefully. I'll update

Best thing to do is to de-restrict the DPF filter all together.. (Cutting it open and removing all white honeycomb filter and re-welding the the hole you made) Ok after that you need a ECU remapping run on a dyno. Plus a after market air filter the car will rev and breath much better should pick up 25hp more plus 60/70 pound of torque But the end result will see the car run way better.

If the DPF is missing it's an instant MOT failure, most people just remove the core so it never gets blocked again. Either way you also have to remove the software from the ECU or else you get all sorts of fault warnings. In Ireland the just look for the DPF software and if it's missing they know the DPF had been tampered with and instant failure!!
