    Problem will back in not long time. Check flow on the DPF additional fuel injector. I think so flow is low or no flow.

    You did almost everything alright . I would have mentioned to check the oil ( fuel in the oil ) I understand you couldn't do a drive cycle this would have given you a clearer view in actual values . For those who thought about your neighbours I have only one thing to say . That's the price you pay for wanting a cleaner environment that turned out to be a big and expensive failure .

    Just go on the highway and keep your car at about 3000 rpm 4-5 gear to match the rpm.
    I usually go once in a week or 2 weeks on highway and go about 140kmp for about 15 minits and then i can really feel the car having more power and going very well, because you can clough up the car in the city going slow speeds and low rpm.

    Before doing the regeneration I would have done a physical inspection of the DPF pressure differential pipes as they crack and perish and collapse. This maybe the reason the readings post regeration were high for a few minutes.

    I had the same car, same engine but '06 made focus. I had never had a dpf problem till 200.000km and I sold the car, the engine performed like new.
    I have some recommendations to the owner;
    - always buy high quality diesel, like shell v-power
    - avoid going low revs on long times, use the engine on 1700-2500 rpms daily driving
    - from time to time, go on a highway and go up to between 3000-3500 rpm on third or fourth gear, drive like this for 10-15 minutes to clean up the exhaust and dpf system.

    I think the health and safety message about hot exhaust gases, adequate ventilation and all of that should probably warn you that you will be subject to the sound of a diesel sitting at 4k possibly causing depression. If conducted outside of a workshop environment the forced regen may also piss off your neighbours quite badly😆

    my mrs had this engine in a mazda , nothing but problems with dpf light coming on , £50 quid to top up dpf fluid then £40 quid for garage to reset the dpf fluid code . Worked fine for a month then dpf codes come back on we took it up motorway in 4th gear and gave it blast out . light went out and everythink fine for few weeks and then happen again. She had a Ford cmax 1.8tdci before and all that had was same problems and costing her money because stupid dpf codes kept coming up . In the end i told her to get rid of the car and buy a petrol engine . Her dads having the same problem with the dpf on his car and he said he NEVER BUY A DIESEL CAR again . I told her now keep away from diesels with dpf on . Nothing but problems and too much and too expensive on them . She had a ford focus 1.6 petrol now for a year and had no problems whats so ever . Every diesel car she had as had nothing but problems with dpf, egr clogging injectors .

    I did few static regen on ford by snap on tool and i can say is more gentle vs your tool,revs are only up to 3k and whole process take about 25-30min,you should also check oil level before and after,make sure fuel is at least 1/4,coolant level and alternator belt.Basic things to not allow any mistakes can cause engine failure.

    • @ukcitizen1158
      @ukcitizen1158 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      On Ford & Mazda, when the DPF is clogged and you have the Ash Accumulation codes, you have to do an Oil & Filter change prior to a Forced Regen.
      Big End Knock was due to excessive Diesel Saturation of the Engine Oil.
      You inadvertently caused the Knock to occur.

      In this game, you live and learn.....
      Technology and Special Functions are constantly updating and evolving, but, Technicians are failing to take Workshop classes and don't seem to have a tendency to keep abreast with manufacturers Bulletins, unless they are working in a Dealership or are passionate about what they do.
      These Bulletins are provided for a reason.
      They are essential!
      Technicians owe it to themselves and to the consumer to provide the consumer with a value for money, professional service, which then goes to show that said Technician is clued up and knows what he/she is taking about.
      Results speak for themselves.
      If you had access to Bulletins, you would have known about Diesel Saturation since 2007.

    With the differentiel pressures this high after a static regen, the p242f will be back within a week. Its shouldn't be higher than 40 to 50 mbar at 3000 rpm. Does this car have the extra injector before the dpf? Most fords with a p242f have a failed 5th injector in the exhaust.

    And as with ALL China diagnostic machines, read how to regen using the proper VCI to get an idea what the procedure will be. Autel, Launch etc. etc. make you think you have to turn off the ignition when you have to leave it on. When doing anything on a Ford and a 600 second counter appears, leave it running. 600 seconds is 10 minutes which is Ford's favourite timer length. With the readings after you finished this one might be back.

I would also have added a DPF cleaner into the fuel tank before doing a static regen. My idling pressure is 0.3 and has only ever reached 1.6 on a run. Hopefully it will continue to go down now

      @@s3bby513 I am aware of the requirements to qualify for trade plates.I am just saying that they absolutely do not provide blanket coverage to drive any vehicle, in any condition, on the roads. Their sole purpose is to negate the need to register and tax a roadworthy vehicle whilst it is being moved from place to place, test driven by a potential buyer, or following a repair.. Provided you have valid insurance, it is not necessary to use trade plates to drive to and from a pre-booked MOT test. Nothing can prevent you falling foul of the law if you are driving an unroadworthy vehicle.

      Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is what it says. Diesel engines have particulates which are harmful to the lungs. The filter is designed to capture these particulates and burn them off during a normal regen cycle. The regen cycle tends to happen when the car is driving at a constant, like fast road or motorway. Depending on the car, regen uses either a fifth injector. As corrected by Ian U, ad-blue is used to reduce other emissions! This why modern diesels are not suitable for town driving. If they are not given the time to regen, the DPF will get full causing the issues shown in the video.
      Here is a Wiki on the subject - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_particulate_filter
      Some petrol direct injection cars are starting to have particulate filters too - www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/volkswagen-equips-petrol-cars-particulate-filter-technology

I noticed that I usually run car for about 25km's or more when regeneration has triggered automatically. It's really easy to dismiss required stats for it to trigger.
