Excellent brother. Very nice instruction
Thank you, Rod. I always appreciate seeing you here in the comments, mate. Thank you for your support.

I enjoyed swatching this video! Informative. Thanks Kerry!
Thanks so much for watching, Mark. Glad you got something from it.
Have a great weekend,
Kez
As per usual I learnt some more. Thanks Kerry.
You really are an excellent teacher of wood turning.
These videos you are now doing of your general day to day turning are a great initiative.
On a different note Kez. Next time I’m in Brisbane would it be possible for me to spend a few minutes talking with you and seeing your current setup. I live in Sydney but I do travel to Brisbane to visit my daughter .
Thanks
Thanks a lot for tuning in, Greg. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't offer private tours at the moment. However, I have created a video showcasing my shop setup. If you're interested, I can share the link with you. Perhaps in the future, I'll get to a point where I can host classes and have a proper setup open to the public. That would be pretty cool.

Kerry, some brilliant advice there mate, im gonna have a go at the left hand switch, should make some bits easier👊
@@hoggyhogwood I have always turned like this and prefer it for the reasons of directing the shavings and debris away from me. Some turners will prefer other methods, as I’ve shown, but give different cuts a try when roughing out and see what works for you. 🤝
Thanks for the comment and feedback, mate. Have a lovely day.
Kezza
Thank you for the great instruction and the tips and tricks.
My pleasure, Johnny. Thanks for the feedback and support mate.
Kez
Another great video, really helpful.
Cheers Kerry.
Thank you, Alan. I'm not sure if you saw my post about these bowls. But they are now reading 11% moisture within a week. I will show another video soon, finishing one off. 👌
I never thought about holding the tool with my left hand. I tried it and it’s fantastic! Easier on the body too by balancing the use of muscles on both sides of the body. Thanks
@@user-nr3ti3xp9h I'm glad it helped👌 its nice to be able to change it up.

Kezza! Nice video mate. You’ve lotta work cut out for ya on this 700 bowl order, but you’re having fun with it and your gouge skills are being honed no end! Bonza mate! Keep on keeping on! Johnno
hi mate thanks for checking the video out. If I don’t master the bowl gauge by the end of this project there’s something wrong with me. Bloody cold at home at the moment and the winds have picked up. Hope you’re well mate. Talk to you directly cheers.
Kez
Thanks for the insight on how you prep those blanks into bowls. Too bad I can't send you some of our heat - we've been near 40C for most of July. Stay safe, mate!
@@qapla My pleasure, mate. Always try different cuts when roughing out. It’s a time when you can practice different styles without worrying about taking too much off a prized piece.
We only get one or two months of cold, but it never gets below zero here. Then we will be straight back into heat again, haha.
Cheers, mate. Hope you’re well.
Kezza
Thanks again. Great video.
Thank you for showing your support, Ken. Much appreciated.
Cheers,
Kez
Great video as always brother!
Thanks, brother. Appreciate it a lot🤝
Great video, as always. Thanks
@@bobbyshelton8781 thanks so much, Bobby.
Hopefully, it can help someone out there.
Cheers, mate.

Nice work, mate talk about cold, spent last week just West of Brisbane, wanted to put in a complaint, I had to put a jumper on one night. (coming from Central NSW )
@@aussiebushpensstuff sorry to hear about that mate, but the complaints team is on holiday 🤣
Hope you had a good trip up here , though. Thanks so much for watching. Talk to you directly.
Kez
I may need to try the left handed method, getting covered with wet shavings is just not that fun.
No, it’s not the most enjoyable experience. It also helps build up confidence as well; you will find yourself switching hands later on, and you won’t even notice yourself doing it.
Have a great day, mate.
Kez
Hi Kerry, I have been away from you channel for a bit due to some personal commitments. I am now back watching and enjoying your style of teaching and all the great works of art you produce. Keep up the great work!
@@walonguy111 thanks so much for your support, mate. Hope all has been well.
Really appreciate it, mate.

As soft as s a pound of mince...... Im gonna use that from now on, thanks fella 😁😂
Some feedback, from my sarcastic Irish mind; love the whiplashes, keep em goin son 😁 to my mind/ears, i love your use of slang...... us Irish are heavy on slang so i do appreciate it a lot. Use of slang and droping "ing" sounds shows your comfortable, dony try to talk "proper"......... keep it comfy lad, i feel that i connect with someone more when they talk naturally..... As opposed to talkin "proper"......... But maybe thats jus me. I like informal videos, like its me and the lads talkin sheight in the shed 😁
In a more "usefull" way........ I enjoyed the video because of its content, im a noob and i learn from you in every video..... So, thank ya fella 😁
Thanks so much for the feedback, mate. Really appreciate, mate. I will definitely keep them coming, and that's one thing I try and do is keep it casual. Thanks again for the feedback, mate.
Cheers,
Kezza
20degrees, that a hot summer day in the UK, shorts on. The fire doesn’t get lit until November or when it drops to14 degrees. I thought you Aussies were hard. 😅😅😅😅
Not used to crap weather! Where we live, it’s beautiful one day and even better the next. So when it gets chilly, we practically break out in hives 😂
I have smashed through the sides of two of my bowls on the second cut. How do I measure how deep to go?
G’day, mate. To answer your question, you can use a depth drill to set the depth you want to go. Just turn to that point. I also made a video on a depth checker that you can easily make at home. A Woodturners Must Have tool! Make it yourself!! STOP Going through the BOTTOM of BOWLS!

Can I ask why your trying not to put your tools on the lathe bed
Hey mate, I hope you enjoyed the video. I always put my tools back on my trolley to prevent them from rolling off, causing damage or injury, or cluttering my work area. This helps me build good habits and muscle memory so I can easily find my tools without needing to even look sometimes. Have a great day!

@@KerryCorney thanks mate,I always enjoy your videos and especially on production turning as know one else really talk about it on TH-cam and there a lot of tips in your videos that help me get quicker at the lathe. Cheers
