Fun Music demo at 24:38 of the video
Agnus and julie Stone ,I got flagged by Utube ! Volume set at 10-oclock on the Yammies Volume knob
Things I for got to say .
1st if you have any ? Please ask in the comment section . all audio gear used listed in my description box . 😃
Also once more ,I would reccomend amps that are from the cool side of netural. And somewhat Natural sounding but me Yamaha AS-1100 does have a lil bit of warmth in the midrange but overall the Yamaha is natural sounding 😆
And the Synergy was great with the Ub52s !
I do believe class AB amplifiers or integrated amps that have the total weight of atleast 25 plus pounds should drive these Elacs ub52s as far as watts
    I would reccomend a modest
70 -80 watts 😆@ 24:39 of the video I show the drive power of the Yamaha AS-1100 😆

Here goes the 8300xp power amp has a very clean uncolored presentation thats well balanced and its powerful but the overall sound chacter of 8300xp is somewhat the same as the elac speakers.
The top end of 8300xp is recessed some would call this top end dry theirs no upper extension but clarity is still excellent
Midrange is very relaxed inviting and a lil layed back with a hint of warmth
The low end bass is strong or stern with good grip and speed/control but not thick/full (lean but mean)
      Articulate BASS in other words
But the pairing just didn't match up as well as me other amps in same price Range (Yamaha AS-1100)

    Hi Tee-Jay 😀,
Thanks for another great video. Based upon your experience with these speakers, I would stay with a larger speakers (if size is not a problem) that have a higher efficiency. Larger drivers and higher impedance with a lower wattage amplifier for people just starting out on their hi-fi journey. Fluance has some great tower speakers at a lower price point that have gained really great reviews from several well known reviewers. I am still looking for a new pair of speakers to match with my Yamaha amplifier (80 watts per channel). I am currently using a vintage pair of Koss speakers. I think they sound good, but I would like to try something new. Thanks again, and best regards, Brian.

Hi. I bought the ub52 a few months ago, open box eBay for 300 bucks. I have a 200 wpc Yamaha Mx-1 dual mono amp.
The speakers sound very strong with this amp pairing. The bass is surprisingly full even though I have them placed in probably the worst spot in the house in the middle of the living dining room and they sound fully realized. It’s hard to believe a speaker could sound more natural and powerful in this form factor.
I have a dedicated listening room with vintage ess rock monitors as well. Much different listening experience from the elacs, but also a completely different speaker.

Hey Tee-Jay I have a question I thought maybe you could help me with. I recently just moved into a new place, and I myself am new to the audio world, well my new place has a media room, and what I am doing is making as such thus I am using it for my gaming room/music room/home theater so I'm going to be using a home theater receiver as my central hub for all things audio both music and watching movies, as well as playing console video games, the receiver and speakers that I have are hi-res, and I got a 7.2 receiver, but I want to save a little bit of money as I already have 2 Dayton sub 1200s, one of them is already in use as the sub to my gaming PC, and it uses the high level input/output for the audio on it, but I was wondering if I can do this while simultaneously using the mono input on it for my home theater receiver and have it still work, I obviously would not be watching a movie and playing om my gaming pc at the same time, but I was wondering if I can do this? the reason I ask is because the amp I am using for my computer speakers while it has two inputs on it, a .25 inch TRS input, and an RCA Input it will not work if a source is fed into both at the same time, so I was wondering if it would be the same with a subwoofer.

I have an idea about how you can take bargainphile to eleven. Consider copper bullet connectors and an alternative to tube connectors. I also would like to point out in the AB comparison on New Record day.. The ultra bad nut fasteners at the back of the binding terminals were still in those speakers. Without them the convenience of switching connections would not have been possible. That means the metal nut was both ok, and bad all at the same time.

J R I'm curious also if that would be a upgrade or not Because heres the double edged sword str8 up. 😆
(IF) the new sound is different
(colored/Flavor) then its really going depend on your speakers you have if the synergy is better or not , BUT
IF the sound is similar and the improvements are as in just performace better dynamics/Soundstage/Attack/Vocals/tonality/ then yeah may be an upgrade with new version

I'm running ub52 on both a Cambridge cxa61 (60 watt) and a NAD C316bee v2 (40 watts) at their 8ohm rating. I realize those watt figures are probably higher with the ELAC 6ohm rating since the amps are both 4ohm stable.
I am preferring the Cambridge over the NAD and am wondering if it is down to the power. I have a smallish room and do not need either amp past half way point on volume control to get it loud enough for me, however I am aware that peak dynamics and such in music may place demands on an amp far beyond what the set volume level would indicate. In other words, having them at 50% volume I'm aware that a peak In the music could still be drawing every bit of available power from that transformer and if it is lacking in anyway, I will lose some of that punch, kick, crescendo, whatever you want to call it. Energy. That's it. Will lose some of that energy. I've heard speakers run out of gas in the past but I'm new again to 2ch and wondering if my next step is to get a more powerful amp for the arsenal. At my listening levels, I don't think I'm missing out on much with the 60watt Cambridge or even the 40 watt NAD, however that final 5-10% on dynamic peaks could be the difference in sound when listening to 'difficult' parts in songs that are requiring extra energy on tap.
Thanks for doing the review it has me thinking again at emotiva, just so i have a high wattage power section to try out. The Yamaha is beautiful my friend. I'm just not there with the pockets yet. 😋

Hi, Thanks for your helpful videos. From all the speakers u have heard (under $700) which one do you like the most? (I know every ones taste is different)
I have (one week now) the Elac UB52 and like u mentioned it’s not my taste I like the sound to be a little more closer or boosted. I have it paired with Rotel A11 Tribute. In order to really enjoy the music I have to set volume at 50 and up. But then after half hour I can feel my ears. I have a small room 8x9. Should I buy a speaker that has a more boosted sound, so I can enjoy the music at lower volume(what speaker?) ? Or maybe the Rotel is not enough to drive the UB52?

Hey K , I understand completely during my video i talked about my dozen class AB amps the smaller ones 20lbs and less just didn't have what i call enough voltage to drive the elacs with that full flesh and body sound ,
Yes active subwoofers helped out with my smaller amps once i had the crossover point at 60hz but i still didn't get that midbass impact i liked alot !
Those Elacs like powaaa to be driven properly Imho they should have been rated at 83db efficancy .
At the end of my video I gave a quick sound demo of driving the elacs with proper power amp that was set at 9:30 on volume clock (low volume) the Bass was hitting just like your talking about Hard !
      My favotite speaker under $700.00US
is no Other than the Triangle BRO 3
I have 2 videos posted on the Bro3
The bro3 have exellence bass top end is a lil forward and articulate and a nice warm midrange and rated at 90db efficancy
My lil IOTA VX SA3 integrated drives the BRO 3 properly ! But Zero -Fidelity has a very good video review on the Bro3
But the Elacs do sound good with proper power they are growing on me !!
But a lil dry 😥 on top or imho re-cessed

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks. Btw I have it paired with a active sub but I can enjoy so much the midrange..
Interesting about the bro 3, because Cheap audioman knocked off this speaker.. :(, I don’t remember now why.
BTW - In general - listening at 50/55 volume, is it considered high?

@@AromaFrank I had the Bro 3 on loan lease agreement, wish i would have bought them, i most likely will buy them in the future.
The Bro3 scales up the ladder very well with better and better audio.
I put hundreds of hours on the Bro 3 with a wide range of amps !
But honestly its the speaker you like that matters, not me not C.A.M.
Remb the number 1 componete in your Hi-Fi system is YOU my friend !
But i do believe adorama will give you a trial period with Bro3 if you don't like them send them back the only thing with the bro3 is they do not sound good in a high reflective room ( or what i call a room that echos badly)
And they need some room to breath
I made sure to put that in the channels video review , the bro3 gave my lsim703s a run for the money that shocked me ! The 703s don't have the most refined treble amp pairing is huge with 703s but when right ohhhhhh my !! 😃

@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Thanks. So in a room like mine 9x8. Isn’t too small for the Bro 3 ? I’m putting it into a shelf surrounded with books! Also do u remember about it’s clarity in midrange and treble?
