as someone who bought the new UB52’s to replace the original UB5’s, i can attest to the huge improvement in treble with these speakers. also, the UB52’s are similar to the B5/6.2’s in their ability to soundstage all over your room. their soundstage is almost like having multiple speakers in different corners of your room, it’s very spooky!
Thanks for the review! With regards to the bass, did you find it tight and or speedy? And with a port in the front did you ever hear it sounding bloated or chuffing at all? I just placed an order for them and hoping I didn’t rush purchasing them. By the way, hilarious story about the port and the cannon😂
I hope these sound better after break in because they are harsh and hurt my ears at the moment and I don’t play loud music. My amp is a Nad d3045 which plays on the warm side. In fact so far they’re brighter than my RP600m. I’ll give them another week and see if there is an improvement.
@@Leo-yn5fx Thanks for the reply. There definitely is a break in period. I just left them on at hardly any volume. I would change the CD daily. Speakers are great now. I did this for over a week. Can’t recall how many days but the speakers are excellent.

Tannoy builds coax speakers, too. Mainly in recording studio monitors, but not only. They're great.
As does KEF.
Indeed Tannoy pioneered the duel concentric driver in 1947.
Do you think Aiyima A07 can power these well for low volumes? Or would it sound bad?
I have no experience with the A07. The power specs look good but I have no idea how well it delivers that power.

it takes a while to break in andrew jones speakers regardless of what he said. My unifi references sounded harsh too at first. Took me 3 weeks.

Anyone get a little port chuffing with these at high volume on certain bassy tracks? For example, the bass line in left right by pap chanel?
what is your speaker recommendation for near field low volume listening in a desktop setup ? thanks
Good review !~,, thanks ! (bought a pair !) :)
Nice review , It's pronounced Yamo ( Not Jamo )
are these better than the emotivas b1+?
I got these new for €340. Pricing mistake by Amazon, I think. Hoooo wee!
That's just highway robbery! Lol! Enjoy them!
I use these on my desk I paid $550 no regrets!
Do you think these would work fine midfield say ~8 feet away in a 10X12 room?
Honestly I don't know, I always use them like 3 feets away from my desk to my chair at low volume and the imagining is great.
I used them mostly sitting about 8' from each speaker. You'll be fine. The coax mid/tweeter makes their performance rather distance invariant.
@@aceofspades6667 I have em. They make me melt. You won't be dissapointed.
I got extremely lucky.... Got them for 199 :=). Just one day on Amazon, new, not used. Couldn't be happier.
Isn't it easier to get good spatial presentation from speakers than headphones ??
Yes, especially at the lower ends of pricing. Speakers are a more natural way to listen.
@@wavetheorysound I was lucky enough to get a pair of these used, like new 420 total.
Welcome to the big leagues!
Have had my eye on these for some time. Hmmm.
Enjoyed
+1 for Cincinnati POPs
These speakers are EXTREMELY bright.
amp pairing?
@@lukeizze I use them with MARANTZ PM8006. For me perfect match
