Thx, have almost the same receiver, but, my sub has only line in left right, nothing of high level, just line in.. Sub is triangle tales 340.on your sub you have also line in.... So, that's all I have

I have them and got the best result running them with high pass filter set at 80 hz. And running a sub crossed over at around 95 hz. They don't need a lot of power but seem to respond better when treated in this way. I responsibly drive them with a 200 watt amplifier. And they love it.

Hi, since you’ve tested both the EZ Espirit Comete and the 40th Comete, I’d like to ask for your advice. I can get the EZ Comete for $620 (discounted price) and the 40th Comete for $1,430. Do you think the price difference is justified if the sound quality is much better? Also, would you agree that the titanium horn on the EZ Comete sounds harsher compared to the magnesium horn on the 40th Comete speakers? Would these speakers be good for various types of music? Sometimes I’m in the mood for rock, gothic rock, soft rock, chill-out, psytrance, etc...

I case your subwoofer has no high-level input: SVS has an adapter that transforms speaker level into line level output. I just ordered it to connect an external amplifier to my home cinema receiver without pre-outs. Thats not its primarily intended use, but it should work.

I've used the same Technics Compact Disc player SL-P770 since 1989 up until 2024. I'm now only first looking to replace it. I think 35 years is pretty good. I doubt I'll get another robust CD player as good these days. But maybe the Denon one might be a good choice?

I have an old Simaudio Moon integrated amplifier, 2-channel, which only has one set of speaker outputs - only an "A" channel. Currently I have a pair of bookshelf type speakers, 8-ohm, hooked up in parallel, to each of the left and right speaker outputs. To hook up my Definitive Technology DN 10 subwoofer, based on your very good video, I would use the sub's Hi-level inputs. However, since I do not have a "B" speaker option, do I need to run everything thru a speaker selector box? I have a Monoprice SSVC-4.1 4-channel selector box. Can I hook up everything directly to the integrated amp, or do I need to use the Monoprice selector box?

Great speaker, just wish they would fit air cored inductors for the bass, it would clear things up. How much do we have to spend for a £10 air cored bass inductor or two.

Your review FINALLY did something I’ve been waiting for. All these amps have sound signatures. The only difference is that Thomas owns up to this. In this case, this amp is voiced to have “tube-like” qualities. So the review should be, at least in large part, how well did the amp do in achieving its design goal. Well, you compare it to an actual tube amp which you did. As far as I know, you are the ONLY TH-camr to do this!!! Your review tells me Galion did a pretty good job of achieving the sound signature it set out to do. Getting 75-80% of a tube amp costing 3x the price is not bad at all! Full disclosure: I own this amp and am very happy with it. It is a great pairing with high resolution speakers that can be a bit on the bright and/or a little forward in the upper frequencies as the softness tones that down. This amp goes well with a good compression driver. Cannot speak on the bass performance as I am bi-amped and there is a high power/high damping factor Class D amp pushing my woofers. I haven’t tried a bunch of different preamps. All I can say is that using the MiniDSP in balanced mode works very well. I needed this kind of piece for the electronic crossover. Final point. Resolution can be a double edged sword. Resolution can let you see into your recordings, but you may not like what you see. We all have music we love that simply was not well recorded. And we want to enjoy those recordings without brutal reminders of their failings. The A75 has me on the musical side of resolving, but I am close to the line that separates analytical from musical. If you have high resolution speakers, you may not want more resolution. There can be the assumption in audio that more resolution is always better and that simply isn’t the case all the time. I’m not a recording engineer who needs to hear all the flaws, I’m a person who wants to spend hours enjoying my music. My system comes alive with good recordings, but mediocre ones are rendered in a way that tells me they are not great recordings, but I can still enjoy the music. That is where I want to be and I suspect I have lots of company on this. Best regards

If it looks like every other speaker, it shouldn’t cost as much as 10 speakers. Invest in good gear, good source and a good room. Save your money
