The 47bhp may seem underpowered compared to todays standards and make no sense out of the UK and EU however, 47bhp is the upper limit for motorcycles if you are riding on an A2 license so this falls right in sweet spot for riders on an A2 license

That is interesting. Anyone going to tell the Europeans about the Big Hoss and the fact that a standard Motorcycle license is all you legally need to ride it in the states?
Makes no sense out of the UK or EU--well maybe. I'm not so sure. Here in California, the land of perpetually congested, slow, and stalled freeways, is also the place of beautiful mountain, foothill, and wine country back roads. My Royal Enfield INT 650 is right at home here.
47 hp at the crankshaft is not too bad for what is an air cooled bike (sure it has an oil cooler as well but basically it's air cooled). If you want more power there are big bore kits to take the capacity to 750 or 800+ cubic centimetres and high lift cams are also readily available not to mention more alternative silencers and complete exhaust systems than you could poke a stick at. I love my GT but it's not perfect for me i.e. I'd welcome a 'what gear am I in now' indicator, self cancelling indicators, lower seat height and a lot less weight. Currently I own a Honda cb190r, which I consider an expensive machine for around 2600 dollars(in my country I make 500 dollars a month which is more than you can earn with a university degree) and this little machine pulled me out depression and anxiety so much! @@suraj250684 Pretty reliable, easy to work on and mod if you want. When I had mine, I changed the light, added leather grips, bags, and smaller pipes. You can even get kits to make it up to an 850. Put to use that 3 year warranty for the odometer, they still are shoddy with electrical work
@@suraj250684 It was a great bike in terms of shifting but it had its issues for me, mainly its height and weight. I'm about 6 ft tall and it was a pain to walk at any given point. It's quite a bit taller than the Continental and weighing 450 LBs wet, it's top heavy. This also gave me a bit of a wobble at highway speeds, anything over about 70 mph (and I maxed it out at 100 mph a few times). It just didn't like it. I think the Continental would fair better being lower to the ground, but the Interceptor just doesn't have the power to push its less aerodynamic, high standing body at those speeds. Also, on my trade in - the guys were convinced the bike was slow on the starter, that's just kind of how it is. (they also all come with a trickle charger hook up, at least the dealer I went to sold them all that way) That clutch though, AMAZING. I have a Z650 now, and man, I miss how easy I could shift. Yeah, I have a wet slipper, but it's still not as fine tuned.
My dad literally had tears in his eyes when he test rode it, we have been having royal enfield as a tradition in the family. He loves his 1987 one but he is suprised that Royal enfield has made such a nice bike and if you dont complain too much this bike is really really sexy n fun.
If you don't complaint enough then anything is worth its price. RE makes the shittiest bikes in India and is primarily being sold based on what you expressed, emotions. It gets way more positive attention everywhere I go in comparison to other bikes I've owned. I've modded it a lot, which is half the fun. When I first purchased, I was wondering if the novelty would wear off. Not on your life! Thanks for the great video!
The thing about an Enfield is that that they're incredibly fun to ride. Because there's no hi-tech BS there, just a pure simple motorcycle Edit: I meant hi tech bull shit, not ABS as that seems to have confused ppl.
You don't take a royal Enfield to a racetrack I own a old 2004 bullet based on the original British design with the gear levers on the wrong side I love to take it over a hill or through the countryside enjoying the air rather than whizzing past all those things.
At 1:19 you can hear the first part of RE tagline " Made like a gun" then followed by sound of gunshots in the background in a sense completes the tagline "Made like a gun, goes like a bullet" . Next level motorcycle review sir , loved it.
The 'Royal Enfield' is an actual gun that the British military once used. Edit: It's called the Lee Enfield as correctly pointed out by the comment below.

RE are changing the game. I'll be getting a Hunter 350 when it's released here in the UK and I think it could bring in a tonne of young riders (as long as people are willing to get a UK motorcycle licence for it).
Issue is that it struggles to stay at 70, if you're travelling any distance (especially if young people like me are getting bikes as we can't afford to have a car as well on average) they need to do a 400-500cc with 30ish hp. That's the sweet spot, low enough that insurers won't kill you and enough you can stay at a reasonable speed

I've watched thousands of hours of TH-cam over the years, and nothing come close to the quality of this. You've sold me on this bike, but perhaps more importantly, your channel. Thank you!
The best advert Royal Enfield never made. Your film quality is phenomenonal. My dark secret is that I loved my Enfield Bullet, far more roadholding than power, felt like a classic, lovely engine note, and learning a whole new way to ride because of the stupidly heavy flywheel which made changing up and using flywheel inertia a far better way to accelerate than using the twist grip! The finest way to connect with the British countryside on a bright, chilly Sunday morning if you want to experience more than a tunnel of high speed adrenaline with blurry peripherals. There's a time for speed, and a time for seeing, smelling and feeling the countryside, and that is more fun on a slower bike.
Ugh, this video is going to lead to an actual purchase. I’ve made the shift back to track only riding, due to awful drivers everywhere and haven’t had the itch to hit the street once in the last few months. Till just now... 😡 I’ll send you guys the bill.
Another fantastic review. I really think Royal Enfield hits an incredible price point on their machines. I love my Triumph Street Triple 765, but sometimes wonder if I should have gotten a RE Cafe racer AND a Himalayan AND tricked them both out for the same price. Speaking of the Himalayan Ryan... I know that's right up your ADV alley

Gotta say, you guys are doing an amazing job with the production quality, cinematography and scene selection. This was just sublime. Well worth the subscription, even as a bike noob. You’re whetting my appetite for two wheels!
What a stellar production. I think the main thing to remember with Enfields is the price to quality. Its extremely hard to beat and fills a gap in the market, particularly for riders on an A2 license in the UK. I've owned a classic 500 and even though its hilariously slow, its well made, solid and has charm by the bucket load. Routinely came back to tbe bike to find people taking photos of it. Loved the video, just subscribed.
47HP is propably suited towards the EU-Markets, where you've got a "A2" license, wich limits you to bikes with 48HP ... unless you have the "A" license, wich allows you to ride all bikes
Australia has Learners Permits & probationary licences limited to 250cc OR LAMS ( which is based on power to weight ratio from 251cc to 656cc of less than 150 kilowatts per tonne). Full licences are unlimited. So bigger guys can legally ride physicaly bigger bikes on thier " L or P plates". Actual intelligence from a government department!! I must admit that a Royal Enfield is now on my radar when I finally retire my 1981 XJ750 - After all, after 40 years its getting a bit unreliable and I no longer enjoy working on it every second weekend. All of the newer bikes I have test ridden had no "soul" ( more "appliances" than motorbikes ) or just plain scared the cr#p out of me (much closer to 60 than 16 ), so finding out RE have actually made a reliable bike has me looking on with interest.

I actually have massive respect for royal enfield for their color selections. Even in Nepal when I see a royal enfield that is other than white or black it always manages to grab my attention and turn my head even though Ive seen Royal Enfields thousands of times. The choices they offer is mwah.
So in 1970 I bought a '64 Interceptor 750. Great fun to ride if you didn't mind ding a tune up every 400 miles, having to use two hands to operate the cutch, and carburetor jets that needed replacement every thousand feet of altitude change. After that it was all Japanese and German for me. All road bikes until two years ago when I bought the BMW 310GS DualSport. It convinced me that Indian build quality was for real. Two weeks ago I purchased the INT 650 Mark2. I could not be happier. Build quality is superior, ride is exquisite, styling is gorgeous, and after 56 years of riding I feel like a kid again. Thanks RE!!
Congratulations, FortNine Staff, you have done it again! I have really come to appreciate these reviews because of the time and detail that goes into them. So thank you for another masterpiece. I do wish that Ryan would actually respond to his viewers. But hey, I guess I'll just have to forgive this eccentricity and make due with superior content! As for the bike, well - My dealer just became an Enfield dealer, so I have seen the bikes and checked the work. These bikes are solid, man. They appear to be well put together, and amazingly, I even fit on some of them! Value aside, however, these just won't do it for me. Just not enough bike for my needs. But I do appreciate them for what they are and for the value they deliver. It will be interesting to see if I start seeing these bikes running around the Bay Area. I honestly hope so.
This is only the second time I’ve felt the urge to comment after reviewing a video on you tube....and I’ve viewed a lot. That whole production/edit was just sublime ! Congratulations on creating some great work (not unlike Royal Enfield). I’ll now be off searching for more content from you. Thanks.

@@seekerhunts the heart is fickle when it comes to bikes. Wants a stable with all kinds of these wonderful toys ! 😂😂😂
(they also all come with a trickle charger hook up, at least the dealer I went to sold them all that way)
That clutch though, AMAZING. I have a Z650 now, and man, I miss how easy I could shift. Yeah, I have a wet slipper, but it's still not as fine tuned.

2018 Himalayan and an 2019 F750GS BMW??
Hardly comparable given one costs twice as much as the other, or more. Just buy 2 Himalayans
Just passed my mfs ecourse. Taking my 3 day riding course next week. The bike I've wanted for a while, "and will have in 3 weeks" continental gt. Never knew any of that stuff till now, only knew I loved the look, price, and a seemingly great starter bike. Thanks for the info, loved the content. Amazing
In a somewhat similar manner, this channel has come on leaps and bounds from its almost apologetic, gawkish beginnings. Probably the best review video of this bike....already! Great editing, and content and delivery.
Fortnine has the best motorcycle videos! The production is excellent. I’m just sad that I finished watching because now I have to wait a while for another Fortnine video.
Nah, watch it several more times.
Oregon Outback you act like I don’t watch their videos over and over already
@@gogurt_st How completely silly of me. What was I thinking? Apologies.
You are so right @Guillermo
This film deserves the name of the director to be shown to the world!! Superb quality at all levels. Congrats! Cheers from Portugal 🇵🇹✌️
47HP is propably suited towards the EU-Markets, where you've got a "A2" license, wich limits you to bikes with 48HP ... unless you have the "A" license, wich allows you to ride all bikes
in india we have one license to drive a motorcycle from 125 cc to 1200cc
@@0nlypets_world 😂 i was riding my RE Electra without license and i know it was wrong.
Wait, EU license classify motorcycles by horse powers? Not displacement?
@@沈啍 well both... A1 - Bikes up to 125ccm, A2 - Up to 48Hp (an a certain kW/Kg limit), A - all Bikes
All of the newer bikes I have test ridden had no "soul" ( more "appliances" than motorbikes ) or just plain scared the cr#p out of me (much closer to 60 than 16 ), so finding out RE have actually made a reliable bike has me looking on with interest.
the writing, the filming, the editing, the soundtrack, the voiceover, the visual effects, now this is a love letter to motorcycles
I have watched this video at least 15 times. This is a masterpiece. Absolute treat.
wow! a well-produced piece! from the host, the writing, the cinematography, color, editing to music selection, audio recording and post. this rivals or even beats network produced segments! great job to you and your team fortnine!
I have a bullet in my house, I see 100s of RE bikes in daily life, I never felt this much close to RE. What an editing
I've been watching the videos these guys have been putting out for a long time now and it still blows me away every. Time. So good. So blessed to be able to watch their art
I've watched this video I'm not sure how many times now and I still can't get over the excellent work of your videographer. It looks like a lot of this is shot on 8 mm film. Which really lends to the vintage feel of the video
Same, I've watched it at least 15 times lol
Thank you for showing it exactly how it is!!!! Always impressed by your extensive and highly detailed research, attention to all the minute details and excellent understanding for shooting and editing video!
And also, thank you Aneesh! You rock!!!
When Ryan said "That's the future" and the picture shifted to mega HD... Right in the feels.
We all can agree than fortnine is a Freakin movie channel on TH-cam.
I have a gt650 I keep coming to thus video again and again after months it just feels so good. This is the best motorcycle review I have ever seen. Thank you so much Ryan
The only motorcycle channel, where I can watch any video twice, because they are made excellently!
The narration, the visuals, the soundtrack and the subject. Every bit of this video was an absolute treat to savour. I pray you keep up the good work, F9!
Thanks RE!!
Was planning to buy this yesterday, and today there is a review by fortnine 😍
It's obviously a sign from God, buy them all!
Thanks.
This was one of the best written, produced, and edited videos I have ever seen. Apart from being interested in the motorcycle, this was an enthralling video to watch.
