About 3 weeks ago , I bought the 2023 version of this exact bike, down to the same color. I'm 5'8", and 63 years old. It really comes down to what kind of riding you want to do, and how much of it you are planning to do. For me, I think this bike will be very hard to beat. For you, the bike you traded for sounds like a much better choice. Enjoy!
@gordonbaker410 I own 2023 bike as well, but this color is discontinued not available in 2023 model.this color and the baker express were my fav color. I got cali green serial number 9th, 9th 2023 bike to come out of factory. Immediately changed spokes to alloys and verdestine tyre (650GT) and the most important upgrade was the whole new touring seat for interceptor.
@SankarshanGhosh More or less. I wear a thin soled riding boot, and a thicker boot sole makes some difference. But my feet are very nearly flat anyway. With my wife on back, I can easily flat foot. My inseam is 30", if that info is helpful.
I turned over 40,000 miles yesterday on mine. A broken speedometer cable is the only break down so far. From sea level to 10,232 ft to 115F in the desert it runs perfectly
Rode one this spring 1000 miles through the Scottish highlands. Was very easy to ride and was fun for the speeds and back roads we were riding. Enjoyable for sure.
+1 for the INT being a joy in the twisties. I have a 2020 and live in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm 68 and have arthritis in my thoracic spine, so all day rides are a non starter. I put the touring seat on also, a 16 tooth front sprocket, bar end mirrors and louder horns and oversized grips. I was away from riding for 27 years and moving to the mountains reignited the spark. FWIW, the spoked rims and tubes don't frighten me. In my former riding history, I only had one flat in 16 years and 50k miles with that setup. Just put new Bridgestone BT46's on and the ride quality went up significantly with respect to handling.
I've had an Interceptor for 9 months and about 2,400 miles. I'm still happy with it. It checks quite a few boxes for me: it looks great, sounds great, great gas mileage (about 55-60mpg) handles well, lots of aftermarket stuff. It'll cruise all day at 75mph no problem. Power and torque are plenty for most purposes. The six-speed gearbox is nice. The brakes work fine, the ergonomics are fine. It has a likeable personality. But it's not a bike I'd want to ride to Alaska on. Or probably even 200 miles. The reason being that the suspension and seat are both stiff and kind of cobby. Around town it's fine but it wouldn't be fun riding it all day long. That and the right mirror vibrates... and it's hard to impossible to read the digital gas gauge in bright sunlight. Those are my only complaints.
I had one for a year. Great bike, no issues. Loved it.....then I sat on a Triumph Scrambler. The next day, I bought the Scrambler. The Interceptor is a great bike. I'd strongly recommend one to anybody who wants a good all-around bike for backroads or commuting. Mine was a step up towards the Triumph, but I have nothing but kind words for the Interceptor.
The problem with triumph is that RE exposed how grossly overpriced the Bonneville is. I love the Bonneville and will most likely own one as a daily commuter one day but RE is killing it.
Agreed. Royal Enfield have found a very special niche in the market and I’m glad they’ve been so successful. The gap in power is their next big hurdle. Maybe this 450 water cooled platform is how they start to work on that. 🤔
All the problems are fixed in the 2023 model, i have one for 6 months, bought in January and already have done almost 8000 miles on it. The 2023 model is a joy.
I have a 2022 Himalayan, 2022 GT 650, and a 2023 Ducati Diavel V4. I use the Himalayan as my off roader, my GT 650 as my mountain twisty erron runner, and my Ducati Diavel V4 as my daily 100 mile round trip work commuter on the California interstates at 90 MPH+++. I Iove all three bikes!
When reviewing a 650INT, it only matters how it compares to a W800, a T100, or a V7. Overall I agree with your review. I am 5' 11" 190 lbs and the RE 650 INT fits me well. I have the same touring seat you have and can ride over 100 miles without stopping. I still have a 2022 W800 too, and have had a V7 and a T100 (two ), the 650 INT is a great bike for the money. The W800 has a little more room and a better ride.
11:10 my grandfather and father traveld around italy in the mid 50' with a Lambretta. They climbed the alps and crossed the sea to sicily. everything can go everywhere my friends!
Likewise, I have a '22 model, same color but a different style "touring" seat and horizontal bottle type mufflers. I ride it nearly every day and have over 9,000 miles on it. You are right, it is no touring bike and even with the new seat, I can't ride more than an hour or so without having to stop and walk around a bit. I used to curse my small size, but now I pity my large friends who can't fit into airplane seats or normal size bikes and even cars too. For me, my bike is perhaps a bit too big, but I've developed strength in my toes, otherwise it fits me perfectly. You are right too in that it has plenty of power and I can be at a dangerously fast speed before I realize it. Regardless of price, there is no other bike I'd rather have for the kind of riding I do. What luck, the perfect bike and so incredibly cheap. I'm just back earlier today from a 3,000 mile trip up to Graybull, WY to see the marvelous geology up there. For comfortable touring and covering long distances with long rides between points of interest, take a car and leave the bikes home.
it's actually air/oil cooled. Their is a comfort seat available & their are also some very good screens available for it. If you've got a Himalayan then I wouldn't be bothered to take the Interceptor off road as the Himalayan can handle most off road situations, even when the going get's a bit rough. Their will be numerous luggage options including the Hepco Becker C bow system from Motorcycle adventure products. Their soft luggage option is very good for most situations being either a day trip-weekend or week or two.
Put Hepco Becker kit on my wifes BMW F800R Had to repaint the frame within a couple of years The Box on top is good but if I was to buy it again I think we'd Hammerite spray the frame before even putting it on the bike next time.
Holy Hanna! $14,500.00 is a far cry from $6,000.00. Himalayan owner here also. I hope that husky is all it's cut out to be. Looking forward to your review.
It's being rare to find good reviews from this bike as yours, unfortunately it is not that common in Brazil bikes like the Royal Enfield. Thank you very much!
@@advmike and crashed it within 12 hours at a mini roundabout right turn with steep reverse camber on new tires….! Fortunately I had a crash bar put on it so no damage other than to me and my confidence 😅
India got the updated version of the interceptor and most of the issues are fixed. Just the foot pegs are at the same position. But less chrome and more matte black. And i love it.
RE450 water cooled coming out & a Himmy 650 & Classic650 & Super Meteor 650 be a great tourer.Also new Triumph 400 & there's a Srambler model 39.5hp 37Nm 13L tank 179kg so be good for gravel roads & light weight incase need to pick it up hopefully they're a big hit & also RE450 too.
I tried this bike recently and it has two things that my Rebel 500 is missing, a characterful engine with a great soundtrack and shiny bits. But I'm pretty sure I would miss the Honda if I were to replace it with anything else. I could get an Interceptor as a second bike but I'm pretty sure I would ride significantly more than the other. As you mentioned it, redundancy is not great when having multiple vehicles and limited funds and/or space. Anyway, I completely get your point. It's one thing to love a motorcycle but letting it sit in its corner is just sad and counter productive. Unless you have it your living room of course.
Hey sir I'm from India, this bike is kinda of a dream bike for me, as of now I'm using a 125cc bike for college going,i really hope I'm gonna buy this bike within 2years before i turn 21, lots of respect to you for this wonderful review, have a nice day 💪🏻❤️
i live in europe one thing i find enjoyable about royal enfield is that even the 650 models can be drived with a A2 license seen the limit of 48 HP and 35KW
i kind of like the old school halogen light, in terms of the color of the light and the way it looks. but the indicators really need to be replaced and since i’ve gotten better at riding, i really hate the slop in the throttle tube. but i get lots of questions and compliments on mine from people who do and don’t know about bikes. great video by the way!
I tried adding a spacer for the throttle, but it was still not as pristine as I'd like. And you're right, these bike have a TON of character. I appreciate the kind words!
I appreciate the subjective nature of your comments. However, 1.) Negative comments about the suspension, tires and handling while presenting non-paved-road footage is quite silly and makes the comments irrelevant to normal reasonable purchasers. Buy/ride a bike meant for that. (OH! you already did!) 2.) If you cannot tell what size motorcycle fits you, Try a bicycle shop. 3.) We never had fuel gauges until recently becoming ubiquitous. We got along just fine. Open cap, check fuel level. 4.) Fill tank with fuel to an objectively identifiable point. Note mileage A. Drive motorcycle. Fill tank to same previous point. Note mileage B. Look at fuel dispensed that you are paying for. That is how much you used. Subtract A from B and that is how many miles you rode for that amount of fuel. Divide miles by fuel used in gallons and that is your miles per gallon (MPG). 5.) We never had tubeless tires. What did you think patch and tool kits were for? Did it occur to you that a nail penetrating a TIRE may NOT penetrate the TUBE? Think belt and suspenders. 6.) We never had gear/shift indicators. If you need one, buy a car. 7.) Nothing in your video convinces me you truly mean what you say about your affection for the Interceptor. You order chicken noodle soup and IMMEDIATELY want to remove the noodles. There are disciplines necessary to be a practical motorcyclist.
I’m also getting rid of the 650 due to it uneven weight distribution which feels on the top portion of the bike even during running in to corners. It’s not an effortless entering in to a corner. No doubt the motorcycle is stable while riding compare to most bikes. Somewhere the Triumph Bonnie feels easy to manage. Street Twin is a better choice i feel.
Curious what you got on the trade-in. I love my 2022 Orange Crush. Love it in the curvy mountains of Idaho. My Corbin seat makes a huge difference. Camping is fun on it too and I’ve taken it to the Tetons. Ive got a WR250R for my off road fix. I started on an Africa Twin which was a mistake for me lacking experience. Hope your Norden works out.
I think they gave me 4700 🤔 My memory is failing me. Good to know on the Corbin. I seriously considered it. It was a fork in the road for me. If I’d had tubeless wheels I might have pulled the trigger…
Its not designed to go off road as such. Lacks the ground clearance & suspension travel as well as it's simply a bit heavy. You probably need the new Himalayan 450.
Adventure bikes are really good for tall people. You will enjoy yours. Me on the other hand.... I am 5' 7" so I cannot ride Adventure bikes. Well I could ride the RE Him like the one you have but I need more than just 400 cc's. I will just have to continue riding my Honda VTX 1300. I put over 100,000 miles on it and then put a different engine on it, so I am ready to go another 100,000. The old motor still runs pretty well but I got one with only 19,000 for 300 bucks so I just went ahead and changed it out so that I can ride across country if I ever want to and don't have to worry about something wearing out 5 states away.
@@AyushSingh-zw2nw My Himalayan feels under powered for how I like to ride. Of course I haven’t ridden the Triumph 400X yet but with 39HP (claimed) I imagine I’d like it much more. But that bike will probably cost about $8K US so the Scram has a big price advantage. There are no solutions. Only trade offs. 😅
Seriously considering the belt drive conversion for my INT650. Kind of like the pros of a driveshaft (no messy oil all over the rear of the bike and no messy cleaning + maintenance).
The 2023 model has option with tubeless tyres but has alloys instead and is blacked out instead of chrome. Also has led headlamps. But yeah the suspension and the seats are still kinda bad
Good call outs. I don't think the suspension is necessarily "bad" especially not for the price point. I haven't seen the alloy wheels here in the US yet, but that was a big concern for me.
If you "only" need transportation, check out the RE 350 series (Classic, Meteor, and Hunter). They are fantastic machines. Not as much power but lower cost, reduced maintenance, easier to manage (seat height, etc). That said, I do LOVE the Interceptor's power band. 😁
Nice bike for sure. Has it’s flaws, but I’m enjoying it. Do you recall what tires you have on there? I’ve been looking for something just like that. Best of luck with the new bike, looks like a fun one.
Thank you! These are the IRC GP 110 Trail Winners. I don’t necessarily recommend them but they are a great off road option. Link should be in description.
Great video and looking forward to the new content. I think you are dead on with your comments about RE. Great value and great looks! A quick question, do you think the ADV type tires are less likely to get a flat vs. the OEM street tires?
Thanks! Good question on the tires. I think it probably helps since there are deeper grooves in the knobbies to skip nails, etc. But I don' t have any facts to back up my opinion... XD
I had one in secptre silver for 2 years racked up some miles added some s&s pipes and it sounded amazing but alas it didnt measure up for my style of riding and tours that I do so sold it to a friend, great for commuting but not long trips.
@@advmike I live in Bali Indonesia and do a lot of touring the roads are not that good at times and lots of volcanoes so I bought an aprilia Tuareg 660… epic machine
Weird complaints? Who needs a gear indicator, apart from a newb on a 125, or Mr GSXR hammering round a race track. Fuel guage? I think every bike I;ve ever had only had a blinking amber light. After 2-3 fillup's, don't we all go by the mileage? If you know you get 200 mpg, you fil up from 180 miles or so.... Seat. Fair enough. I'm sure RE have something in the parts catalogue. And tube tyres? The market wants wire wheels on retro bikes That is your trade off. I'd prefer cast alloys and tubeless, for weight savings and easy patching, but if the market want it totally retro..... Me, if I asked for one thing, I think they should offer the 200cc big bore kit and clutch, on a better breathing engine, from the factory. 42bhp at the wheel? This heavy old thing needs 60 bhp min. Also delete the heavy exhausts and centre stand for a bit more zip when getting by other traffic. You can save 6kg from each silencer alone.
@@advmike I got stuck on SV650's. I found they were almost totally perfect for mixed open comutting of 50m a day, through traffic and more open A and B roads, economic, easy to ride, light to wheel about and park, perfect for 5'6 tall rider. A little gutless on a longer journey, but well, liked them so much I went through three of them. But I;ve got to that age an Interceptor appeals, or even *shock horror* a Super Meteor, and I was *never* that cruiser guy.
@@jujuUK68 The SV is legendary for a reason. I had a 2012 VStrom 1000 and loved the power. 😆 I’d love to ride a Super Meteor. Or maybe an HD Road Glide 🤔😁
@@advmike I was put off the SV1000 by many on the forums, saying the bigger, heavier engine lost the ridable charm of the 650, although I could have done with a bit more power to lower motorway rpm on longer trips. One bike is never enough!
I don't have good experience with this bike. Bought it Oct'22 but later get to know my bike under batch of piston ring issue, and it getting worst after 7000km where it start to lost power when I'm on the fast lane and almost get hit by cars because of this. After that I send to service centre and it take 2 and half month to fix & claim the warranty, and during that period my bike was sitting in their centre. After they fix my bike, then couple week later the same problem occur again, now my bike back to their centre again. Now not sure should i keep this bike or not anymore.
33,600 miles on my 2019. This review is dead on right . I ride mountain roads above 5,000 ft every day and drag metal everywhere. Don't do knobby tires. This bike hates dirt roads. Hates dirt roads!!!
@@advmike speaking of rear tires mileage only the original pirelli phantom 4k miles. Michelin pilot 5k miles. Pirelli sport demons 4k miles. Last tires im running is Michelin road classics at 6k miles. I'm dragging metal in corners consistently with the classics. Mileage and handling both.
@@sochineseThe cast alloy wheels are only available on two colours in the Interceptor - Black Ray and Barcelona Blue. The engine and exhaust on these are completely coated black. The Continental GT also has two colours with blacked out engine and exhaust plus alloy wheels.
I rode the Interceptor and the Himalayan one after the other quite recently. Loved them both, but I agree with your analysis. What I would like to see is the Himalayan with the engine from the Interceptor. Plenty of off road capability, but with a bit more bang. What do you reckon? Love the channel. Love and peace.
🙏 I appreciate the kind words. I’m more comfortable on the Himalayan. If you can live without the power, it’s a wonderful machine. But I needed more power for the touring I wanted to do. And off-road is a must have for me. If I had a similar budget constraint to these bikes, I’d look at a KTM 390 Adventure or a Honda CB500X. All that said, im really excited about the Triumph 400X. I think that bike will steal a lot of market share from Royal Enfield.
@@advmike The Himalayan is a classic in the making. A new water-cooled 450 version is coming soon, I believe, with a lot more power. I reckon the Triumph will be good, but more pricey. I saw the new Triumph at the Overland event this year. More tech and sophistication than the Himmy, but also more to go wrong. Possibly. Let's wait and see! Lpve and peace.
About the tubes. Yes its a hastle but once u know how to do it its not a big deal. Its worse if u have a tubeless and get a cut that is to big to plug.
Just seen this. I have a 2020 version. Funny that a lot of stuff I agree with. I have fitted an LED headlight bulb. Stunning. Fitted nicer cans for sound but also saved 16lbs over the original pair. Tubes ? I put 'Gloop' blow out preventer in the tubes. Added one tooth extra front sprocket. Nicer to ride at 70mph and still get about 85-87UK mpg. Gear indicator. Yes. Added one. Seat. Yep. Not the best. Would I buy a BMW or Triumph ? 😂😂😂 Had both. BWM worst bike I have ever owned. Triumph? Cheap Chinese build quality and parts.
The fuel guage issue is because the tank has a reserve seperation in which the fuel guage is attached so ehen your sliding or shaking the bike the fuel also shakes in the reserve compartment. This is not a fuel guage issue 🙏🇮🇳
When I was a lot younger, there were only trail bikes and road bikes. We too our road bikes to a lot of places they were'nt designed to go to. It's just a matter of adjusting your riding style. These days, we're spoilt for choice.
Dealers (I've worked for a couple) simply LOVE people like you! Buy a new bike, trade it in for another new bike...and so on. You've taken on both the dealer fees (prep and transport) and depreciation. Not to mention the 600-mile service. Plus you've added some nice farkles. Even better! Me? I think you're super, too, because I'm the guy who buys your 3000-mile bike and gets the best deal! 😉
I have a Husqvarna 701 and BMW 1200GS. Because of physical issues I started looking at shorter bikes. Been thinking of an Interceptor then installing 17”/19” spoke, tubless wheels, different exhaust and a luggage system. Or maybe start off with the Triumph 900 Scrambler. Not sure yet. You mentioned you were buying a new bike, what are you getting?
I got the Norden 901 Expedition. It's pretty tall. Check out my video on making the Interceptor into a Scrambler. I specifically talk about the Triumph 900 Scrambler there as a better value. If you find one of those used, I think you'd be much happier with the Triumph for off road. Interested to see what you decide!
How often do you need to take care of the chain maintenance? After how many km do you clean it, oil it, and tighten it? I'm considering the Interceptor but I cannot find this info. Thanks!
RE recommends lubing every 600 miles. I clean my chain every other lubing using Dupont spray cleaner and a chain brush. I use Dupont chain wax. The included center stand helps immensely.
I typically inspect my chain every 300 miles (on any bike). I check the slack, clean with WD-40 and a nylon brush, and apply 90W gear oil to lubricate. I wipe off the excess oil with a shop rag. It doesn’t have to be 300 miles exactly. If I’ve been riding hard in the dirt or sand I’ll clean and lube. Sometimes it went 500 or 600 miles if I had a long ride or trip.
Hi I own a gt650 and am based in nyc. Looking for some tires just like yours but would like to know how you measured them. I’m going off off rim and can’t seem to find any. Any advice? Thanks
I'm 6 ft talll and weigh 215 at A healthy weight. I would have concerns that this bike would be unsafe for me given I use the 70-80mph interstate daily. Unreasonable?
I think you’d be fine. It won’t be as punchy as a Bonnie with 900cc but it will easily keep up at 85 mph. I’ve ridden at those speeds often without issue.
Hi, Bro! How tall are you? Are your knees bent too much? Is the seat stock and custom? Is the seat very hard? The steering wheel is low: maybe it needs to be raised a couple of inches?
Great questions. I'm 6 feet tall. The seat was a touring seat with extra cushioning, but the arched shape of the seat was the real problem. I ended up letting this bike go for a Norden. It's a great bike, but I would have felt terrible scratching it up doing rough off road riding.
Tough question. These are IRC GP110 but I don’t necessarily recommend them. For this bike: The Shinko 244 would be a decent option if you’re not touring. I might try a Motoz Tractionator GPS if I wanted a premium setup. All of that assumes you want 50/50 grip (or looks). But the stock tires are perfectly ok for light gravel.
A well done review. I get your point. Rode this bike and I felt the footpegs are a bit to high up. Not having a gear indicator is also a minus. :) Otherwise a cool Bristih macnine. Drop by to check my content. You may like it. Cheers. Ride safe.
I have the new 2023 model Black Ray. But fuel gauge problem still persists. I am having quite a hard time finding the mileage on my interceptor. Can you explain your process?
I filled the tank and ran it out of fuel. I divided the miles by the fuel tank capacity. 200 ish miles by 3.6 gallons. Also - I carried a spare fuel bottle with me so I would’nt be stranded. 😁
I hear that the more you lean, the more it wants to fall over. Is the weight an issue? I hear people complain about it yet there's a lot of cruisers out there that are heavier so i don't understand what they mean. This will be my first ever bike so i want to be sure im going to be safe. Im older so could care less about speed.
This is a great question. The weight was never an issue for me. All bikes get heavy when sitting still and leaning over. When the bike is moving (above 20 mph), leaning is normal and it will not feel heavy at all. If you don’t care about speed, you might like the RE 350 series better. The Classic and Hunter are super cool bikes. Worth a look. Happy to connect 1:1 to talk more if you’d like. My info is available on the About page.

The 270 degree crankshaft creates a similar rumble to the 90 degree V twins from Suzuki and Ducati. It's not exactly the same, but the audio profile bears a strong resemblance. Thanks for watching!
I was curiously determined to waste 13'15" till the end to see that you traded the Int. for a totally different class of motorcycle, at a much higher level, so no comparison with RE. The truth is the Int. is a low-quality underpowered cheap looking motorcycle. It's good for the Indian market but definitely inadequate for Europe and America. Enjoy your new Husqvarna!

Love my Himi. I bet the V4 is a masterpiece! I can see the GT as a fun canyon runner for sure. 👍
3 bikes for 3 purposes. smart. That is also why I have 3 GFs. :-)
If you had to keep only one, what would it be?
The W800 is also a lot expensier. :)
11:10 my grandfather and father traveld around italy in the mid 50' with a Lambretta. They climbed the alps and crossed the sea to sicily. everything can go everywhere my friends!
Agreed. Possible for sure. Comfort is huge for me. ;)
Well said sir. 3000 miles! That's a road trip!!
That’s part of riding, it’s not supposed to be as comfortable as a car. Why do you think most people drive cars . The pain in your bum is worth it
@@AshHalls Yep, some people just want to have their cake and eat it, and ask for seconds, if not thirds.
it's actually air/oil cooled.
You make some good points. Ultimately it wasn’t the right bike for me, but I think the INT650 is a great platform!
Put Hepco Becker kit on my wifes BMW F800R
Had to repaint the frame within a couple of years
The Box on top is good but if I was to buy it again I think we'd Hammerite spray the frame before even putting it on the bike next time.
Poor little blue. Maybe you can get it back when you start having reliability issues with the husky
He wont get it back, it has no gear indicator 🙄
Nicely presented. It had the pieces of info that one was looking for. Yes, it's absolutely gorgeous.
Glad it was helpful!
Holy Hanna! $14,500.00 is a far cry from $6,000.00.

Looking forward to your review.

Agreed on all points. That new Triumph 400X looks like a winner!
I have the GT style touring seat, 3hrs no issue, I am 5'10" 220lbs, wish it had a gear indicator,
Bravo my friend! Well said and very excited for the Husqy to roll out! Congratulations 🎉

i live in europe
one thing i find enjoyable about royal enfield
is that even the 650 models
can be drived with a A2 license
seen the limit of 48 HP and 35KW
i kind of like the old school halogen light, in terms of the color of the light and the way it looks. but the indicators really need to be replaced and since i’ve gotten better at riding, i really hate the slop in the throttle tube. but i get lots of questions and compliments on mine from people who do and don’t know about bikes. great video by the way!
I tried adding a spacer for the throttle, but it was still not as pristine as I'd like. And you're right, these bike have a TON of character. I appreciate the kind words!
I appreciate the subjective nature of your comments.
However,
1.) Negative comments about the suspension, tires and handling while presenting non-paved-road footage is quite silly
and makes the comments irrelevant to normal reasonable purchasers.
Buy/ride a bike meant for that. (OH! you already did!)
2.) If you cannot tell what size motorcycle fits you, Try a bicycle shop.
Subtract A from B and
that is how many miles you rode for that amount of fuel. Divide miles by fuel used in gallons and that is your miles per
gallon (MPG).
5.) We never had tubeless tires. What did you think patch and tool kits were for? Did it occur to you that a nail
penetrating a TIRE may NOT penetrate the TUBE? Think belt and suspenders.
6.) We never had gear/shift indicators. If you need one, buy a car.
7.) Nothing in your video convinces me you truly mean what you say about your affection for the Interceptor.
You order chicken noodle soup and IMMEDIATELY want to remove the noodles.
There are disciplines necessary to be a practical motorcyclist.
summed it up really well ..i had issue with gears under warranty but it’s a good all rounder
Thanks! 🙏 sorry to hear about your gears. Hopefully they got it back to 100%!
@@advmike seems i got a friday one and mechanics in australia that i have met are poor ..
Tubed tyres a problem? Punctures? Carry ‘Green Slime’ and a tyre inflator 👍🏻
I have a can of Sahara for my Himalayan. Need to go ahead and put some in those tires. Ounce of prevention…
I hope you try Royal Enfield’s Super Meteor 650 if you want a cruiser
I would LOVE to ride a Super Meteor! Looks like RE really did their homework with that bike.
Love the VTX! Great platform 🙌
the gas gauge does that in many vehicles. In my 2017 jaguar fpace ,the fuel gauge just goes up slightly sometimes.
I think a 650 Himalayan would be a great upgrade to the current version.
I’m hoping the water cooled 450 lives up to the hype. But I think Triumph might have beat RE to the punch with their 400X.. 🤔😉
@@advmikeunfortunately agree!
@@advmikeTriumph 400x or Scram 411 what's your opinion
@@AyushSingh-zw2nw My Himalayan feels under powered for how I like to ride. Of course I haven’t ridden the Triumph 400X yet but with 39HP (claimed) I imagine I’d like it much more. But that bike will probably cost about $8K US so the Scram has a big price advantage.
There are no solutions. Only trade offs. 😅
Seriously considering the belt drive conversion for my INT650. Kind of like the pros of a driveshaft (no messy oil all over the rear of the bike and no messy cleaning + maintenance).
I didn’t know that was available for the INT. Definitely decreases chain maintenance. 😆
Thanks for the nice and honest review.
Glad I could help! I’m gonna miss this one 🥹
I've been looking at getting one of these as a work vehicle while I build up my car.
Maybe this is a good choice
XD
Great video man!
Much appreciated!
I had one in secptre silver for 2 years racked up some miles added some s&s pipes and it sounded amazing but alas it didnt measure up for my style of riding and tours that I do so sold it to a friend, great for commuting but not long trips.

I'm kind of a weird guy. ;) Sounds like you have a lot of miles on two wheels. What are you riding these days?
@@advmike I got stuck on SV650's. I found they were almost totally perfect for mixed open comutting of 50m a day, through traffic and more open A and B roads, economic, easy to ride, light to wheel about and park, perfect for 5'6 tall rider. A little gutless on a longer journey, but well, liked them so much I went through three of them. But I;ve got to that age an Interceptor appeals, or even *shock horror* a Super Meteor, and I was *never* that cruiser guy.

This was the Dart Classic screen in Petrol blue. Looks like they only do the "smoke" color now. Sorry! Maybe eBay??
That's exactly what it means growing out a bike. You just want to experience more specialized stuff
The fuel guage issue is because the tank has a reserve seperation in which the fuel guage is attached so ehen your sliding or shaking the bike the fuel also shakes in the reserve compartment.
This is not a fuel guage issue 🙏🇮🇳

Crickey! Is that a big dent in the rim at 1.02?
I’m kind of a Husqvarna guy so I approve.
@@michaelabernathy7013 many thanks for your reply!!

Any advice? Thanks
I struggled to find 18" tubed knobby tires. The Shinko 804/805 tires seem to be the best option without spending $$$$$. Let me know what you find.
@@advmike Great answers! Thanks, Bro!
I don’t understand the foot peg location. I’ve never had an issue with the pegs…
Which off-road tires do you have/recommend?
Cheers. Ride safe.
Are the piggy back shocks real? Or just cosmetic?

Why are you standing on a smooth dirt road?
Hard seat?
It can exceed the speed limit
Well, yeah ........... so can a 125........... WHICH speed limit?
More simply, what's the top end on the flat on a still day?
Maybe that's not the right question in a way though - If speed's your bag you'd buy a sports bike anyway.
I thought this was a parallel, keeps mentioning v twin sound etc? So why not mention what BMW you are getting?
The 270 degree crankshaft creates a similar rumble to the 90 degree V twins from Suzuki and Ducati. It's not exactly the same, but the audio profile bears a strong resemblance. Thanks for watching!
have you had a flat tire before ?
Those side indicators are notnstock right? It used to be that rectangle shaped small ones
The round ones are US-market versions.
