Stock airbox mod should be the next thing done man. And maybe some thermal gaskets like the hondata for the intake manifold and also one for the throttle body. I loved the hondata gasket on my rsx.
great video but dont you think the diameter of the intake at the midsection is a bit skinnier than at the very top?? i think the loss in airflow would offset the performance gained from colder air but thats just me.
The intake sucks air like a hoover so it gets plenty of air regardless of the narrow tubing. Lowering Air temp makes more difference than increasing air volume
I have the same snorkel from ebay and my hood hits on. Mine is 04 facelift model and i have a broblem with the fitting, my hood doesnt close. Did you had any issues? Is there enough clearance on yours?
Another great video! Awesome presentation and proven upgrade!! No dynamic needed, cooler air÷better performance... a bit off the s2000. I wanted to thank you again for the spirit mr-s video. I just ordered my Race Works 172s coilivers with custom spring rates. 10k rear,6k front. I'm running 245/45/17 rear 205/50/16 front with re71r's. Thanks again
@@TougeTime ok. I found that relocating the IAT to the 06+ S2000 position (intake arm) works well with cold air intakes. The IAT being in the metal intake manifold heat soaks the sensor. After relocating to the 06+ position I have observed the ECU was reading air temps much closer to ambient and as much as 3 degrees ignition advance vs the intake manifold location.
Regardless what anyone tells you OEM airbox is not better. Every dyno I have ever seen against any other intake there is makes at least 2-5whp less despite not being cold air. There are plenty of online videos verifying this as well. The online videos try to stack the dice in the OEM's favor by not adjusting the tune for the aftermarket and just letting the car run open. Still it wins by a substancial amount everywhere under 2500RPM. Not trolling, no biased review from being paid by the people. Just experience working at a shop and seeing so many vids over the years. Also the weight reduction , sound , and superior looks its just big bonus. Search youtube guys, colder air is always better but not if the box can't flow enough regardless how you modify it.
Wouldn’t water get in ?
great helpful video, thanks for posting! did you have any problems clearing the OEM hood? that seems to be a common problem with snorkels?
Seems functional🤷🏾♂️ Keepin the engine cool is a must💯
Any water introduced during raining season?
This was the video I needed. Definitely gonna buy it now!

Hello there. 👋
I know it's quite a while, vut was there any issues with water ingress during rain? What's the experience?
Many thanks in advance.

how about the ram air offsets the narrowness ?

Spend money to gain HP that are not detectable except on the test bench ?
What about when it rains? 🤔

Where did you get the part from?
Sounds so nice!
may i know if it is necessary to take off the bumper , then to remove the shroud? thx.
Hey, Try an airbox mod also ;)... it opens up the airbox a bit more allowing greater flow, I guess :)
right y have u not done that yet?!!!
I have ...
It has a huge restriction in the center of the curve it kinks
Chevrolet had almost an identical intake on the '74 Nova.A flooded street was not your friend !

Thanks. I'm going to be getting coilovers soon too. Most likely 7k , 10k or something close to it.
I shared my build with Race Works and with some chit chat got a huge discount. Check out theirs
She goes to MonkeyWrench racing in Detroit for the k20a's dyno tuning.
@@TougeTime I'm sure if you offered to cover your install they would do good things for ya
@@eddiedick9886 raceworks?
Did the hood rub??
Seems like it was a good investment!
Any issues with water you had over the years?
no way oreilleys had the filter in stock! I had to special order mine
results will be skeweed because you also added a K&N filter after.
do you have a link to snorkel? Or do you know the seller name on ebay?
Where was your temperature sensor located?
It's the OEM reading from the obd port.

Weather or not it increases HP it’s worth it for the cooler temperature.
It does the job, especially on a hot day. Been there done that
Which eBay seller?
Are u able to use oem hood still? With this setup
Yeah you can still retain your stock hood with this
More zzw30 content pls

Holy shit I did the same mod on my is300
