Apologies! Spooky is actually illustrated by Sara Szewczyk! I was coloring in a Kate Pellerin book whilst editing this video and my brain obviously got muddled 😅
It was an interesting video. I don't think I'll ever invest in colour cubes, in my opinion they're not very practical and quite expensive for what they are. That said, this option definitely has its fans and there's nothing wrong with that. You do you guys 😊 My method is very simple. I use Pinterest to find color palettes that interest me - like you said, easy to filter. I save the ones that cought my eye (as a Pinterest board, or download to my phone) and I start picking coloured pencils that match the pallete. Next I swatch them all on paper to see how different combinations will work together and that's it. I don't really plan placement of the colours on the actual colouring page like you do, but I might try to include this step in the future. Love your channel, keep up the good work ♥
The color cube is my favorite. Using the digital Color Cube will let you put what theme or general color you want to use. On the back side of the cards, there are light, medium, and dark colors from the front side colors. Boy, that was a mouthful. There is Pinterest and sometimes I use this to help with color cubes. Using this helps find a color maybe not on a card. But I most generally find it on a color cube card, in a different theme. The cost of the cube is worth the price. It just takes longer to get the use out of it to justify the cost. There is a rumor that she is working on another set or two color cubes. I will buy it sight unseen because I enjoy the cubes that much! If this is true, it will be awhile. Sarah has many fires going, a lot more than when she introduced the original cubes. Procreate is only for Apple products so a no-go for me. Plus I struggle with apps like Facebook and Instagram. I have the laundry app mastered though 😂 There is nothing better than having colors in my fingers. I love opening up pencils and seeing the colors. Instant stress relief ❤ of course it's even better once the pencils are sorted and put in order. I'm an old-schooler living in a digital world 😹. A side note, I love emojis but if you misspell a word, there is no auto-correct to fix it. It tells you no results were found. Digital kinda sucks😂. Great video!
I totally understand the appeal of the color cubes and I often prefer to work with my hands for most things as well! That would be awesome if Sarah came out with some new cubes. They would be a MASSIVE hit for sure 😍✨🌈
Would it be possible to see a color along for the picture that you prepared color scheme on procreate? I would really love to see it come alive from your preparations 🥺 I will have to try it too, it looks really neat!
I love the color cubes not just because of their function but because of how pretty they are Just to add I love the color combo in the second column/second row of the cube method
Loved this video! In my opinion, the Procreate method wins by a country mile. The Color Cubes, in addition to being quite pricey, are just too big & bulky and I don't have that kind of space on my desk. What I use is the beautiful little book Practical Color Combinations which gives a TON of color palettes and over 2,500 color schemes on how to use them. It's only $18+ and fits in a tiny space. I love it!!! ❤
Nice options however there is another option to consider. A book, Practical Color Combinations by Naomi Kuno, a resource with over 2500 color schemes. Its divided into color groups. If you are not tech savvy, not able to spend much or have limited space this might be another options.
I happen to have both Color Cubes and really enjoy them. But I also have Procreate on my iPad that I love to to do digital coloring and digital watercolor. I had never even thought about using it the way you did to plan coloring pages. How awesome! Thanks for teaching this old dog new tricks! 😜❤️
People have decorated using the coloring cube as well? I have seen artists just use Pinterest to pick out their combos only and proceed to paper. That is handy as most people can access through their phones. However, the Color Catalog was the first product Sarah Renee Clark created. It is an awesome, time conscious search method!! 😍 The Color Cubes came out because users wanted a physical product. They didn't want to keep printing out the combos, and printer colors could be less than accurate. It is a beautiful product, and her team has done a lot of different pencil brands matching now!! 🥰 I am like you in that I usually just pick colors as I go. I tend to have a pleasing color combo selector in my head, lol!! 😂 Of course, it is all around rainbows!! 🌈 As a low-tech person, I love the color cube and the idea of using Pinterest if I want a limited color palette!! 💞 That would be a coloring challenge to me! 😉I prefer to get to the fun part(coloring) more than the planning phase! 😅 I have limited art time, but more of it is I'm impulsive and impatient when it comes to art and color when the mood strikes, ROFL!! 🤣 Personality trait!! 😸 Have fun coloring!! Great inciteful video!! 👏👏
I totally understand the appeal of the color cubes! Honestly I think they’re so pretty to look at haha. But I am also with you on being on a bit of a time crunch these days so the faster I’m able to plan, the more coloring I can get down each month 😉🌈💖
It is a cats world and we are 100% living in it😂 my cat is my superhero 🐱 I prefer a hybrid method where I look up colour palettes and hand draw my blends. I like how you brake things up into sections I’ll be trying that with my next page thank you for the great tip. ❤ Also I love the colour cube but i agree it’s a bit overpriced
I just bought the color cube and it's on sale... And it's gorgeous but I'm like... Was it really necessary? 😂 I'm not sure. Sarah Renae Clark is awesome though
I agree with both statements 100%! I don’t think it’s a necessity but it’s also a gorgeous product if you want to add a little something to your coloring collection ☺️💖
I just wanted to comment that you could do everything on the same procreate file without the need of doing it separately. You can do it in different layers and once you’re no longer working on that layer you can go to the layers settings and hide them, so they don’t overlay, but you still can see them if you need and even edit them. I think is a good hack to don’t have many files of the same picture and don’t get lost 🙂
And on the layer settings you can also change the letter that appears there to M of Multiply and that will do that you don’t cover the black line with your colors. I find that very useful to work with and even color my pages completely on procreate
Yes! You could totally just work with the layers but for some reason my brain prefers to work with different canvases 😅 But thank you for the Multiply tip! I’ll definitely have to try that out 😍✨
I have the color cube, and it's fun to use, so for me, it's money well spent. For me, it's a ton cheaper than Procreate because I don't own anything Apple lol
I had the same issue when I started using Procreate. Then I learned you can convert PDF’s to jpeg from the free Adobe pdf reader. Apologies the unlike on ur comment was from me in error 🌸
I'd love the color cubes and all the thought and time put into their creation by the color page queen herself! However, the major downside is if you are buying from outside Australia, shipping is extremely pricey which is so unfortunate. It's about another $40-$50 USD to buy in US.
You can definitely screenshot if that’s easier for you. But you can also click on the three dots below or beside the pin and that will allow you to download the image to your device 🥰💕

I didn’t have room for the colour cubes so purchased Sarah’s digital colour catalogue and have that saved on my iPad to use.
I think I would definitely be more inclined to purchase the digital colour catalogue 😍🌈💖

I love that! It seems you’ve found the perfect mix of digital and physical to plan your pages 🤩✨

I’m an analogue girl living in a digital world, so I like the colour cubes. I’ve also used them for planning my interior colour scheme in my home.
I frequently vacillate between digital and analog haha! And that’s so awesome that you use the color cubes for interiors 🥰😍
The color cubes are also great for putting outfits together.
I love my color cubes! I love to use them when coloring mandalas!
That’s a great idea! Mandalas are perfect to plan with the color cubes 😊
Would it be possible to see a color along for the picture that you prepared color scheme on procreate? I would really love to see it come alive from your preparations 🥺 I will have to try it too, it looks really neat!
I’ll be sharing my coloring of the background for that page in my next video! 🥰
I love the color cubes not just because of their function but because of how pretty they are
Just to add I love the color combo in the second column/second row of the cube method
I totally agree that they are a gorgeous product! 🤩💖
This was super interesting! I’ve been wanting to play with procreate for a long time. I really should just jump in!
You totally should! I find procreate super useful 🥰✨
Thank u fkr all the fun videoa . Simply love your chanel.
Cnat wait for the christmas stuff ❤❤❤❤❤
Aww thank you! Christmas content is coming 😉💖

Oh yes! I’ve seen quite a few people on YT using that book. Definitely seems like a really budget-friendly alternative to the color cube 😍🌈
Ah! I wish I saw this before I bought the cubes!
Nice options however there is another option to consider. A book, Practical Color Combinations by Naomi Kuno, a resource with over 2500 color schemes. Its divided into color groups. If you are not tech savvy, not able to spend much or have limited space this might be another options.
Yes I’ve seen that book around as well! Definitely a more affordable option for those looking for something similar to the color cube 🥰🌈
I happen to have both Color Cubes and really enjoy them. But I also have Procreate on my iPad that I love to to do digital coloring and digital watercolor. I had never even thought about using it the way you did to plan coloring pages. How awesome! Thanks for teaching this old dog new tricks! 😜❤️
That's so cool! I'm glad you found a new way to use a tool you already love! 🤩
Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 🥰💕

That is totally fair! Haha 🥰💖
Can you tell me what video you did the start to finish using your method that you use? Ty
The link to the color along is in the video description 😘✨
@ ooooops sorry about that
great video, very useful! Does procreate handle PDFs too? I have several pages in pdf format that I cannot import in other drawing apps
I had the same issue when I started using Procreate. Then I learned you can convert PDF’s to jpeg from the free Adobe pdf reader. Apologies the unlike on ur comment was from me in error 🌸
Yes! Exactly what @giadr9911 said! If you convert the pdf to a jpeg you shouldn’t have any issues 😊🌈
I'd love the color cubes and all the thought and time put into their creation by the color page queen herself! However, the major downside is if you are buying from outside Australia, shipping is extremely pricey which is so unfortunate. It's about another $40-$50 USD to buy in US.
I totally agree with both statements! I think the product is amazing but shipping to Australia can always be tricky 🥲
How did you save the pictures from Pinterest? Screenshot?
You can definitely screenshot if that’s easier for you. But you can also click on the three dots below or beside the pin and that will allow you to download the image to your device 🥰💕
@@apicturedpurposeI did not know that! Thanks!
The colour cube has royalty free images that artists can draw and sell as well as just giving palettes. I am a technophobe lol
That’s another great way to use the color cubes as well!
Do you have an address or P.O. Box posted anywhere ? I have some happy mail I would like to send you😊
Awww that is so sweet! If you can message me on Instagram, then I can shoot through my details ☺️
unfortunately I use Android and so Procreate is not for me.
Yes that is such a major drawback for the Procreate brand 😔
