I absolutely LOVE these ideas! That ray background is fantastic! I happen to love to watercolor on its own so I have TONS of watercolor palettes including this particular MeiLiang one. Just a note…certain watercolor pigments naturally granulate no matter what paper they are applied to. It’s just the nature of the pigment. I happen to adore granulating paints. ❤️
I definitely realised this after reading up more on watercolors after filming this video haha! I still have so much to learn 🥲 Thank you so much for watching ❤️
obsessed with all of these, they're so cute!! i've been on a alcohol marker kick, but might have to pull out my watercolors to try the cookie cutter one. also - i would love to eventually see the finished pages of these, but especially the cat!!
Thank you so much for watching! I’ve finished the light ray page already and have nearly completed the cat page! I’ll be posting them on Instagram soon 🥰✨
Using a cookie cutter for a stencil is a really great idea! 👍 It makes a bigger shape and is therefore easier to use!! 🤗 I loved all of them!! 🥰 The moon rays were sweet!! 😊 That would work for sun rays shining through clouds look!! ⛅️ The hearts are my favorite, and I can't wait to see that page colored!! 💞❤
Love these ideas so much, especially the cookie cutter one! How fun, and would love to see this with a gingerbread man as you mentioned 😍 I might even try it on its own on watercolour paper, since just that on its own would probably look amazing!
Love your backgrounds! You just popped up on my recommended channels so I watched and subscribed! I have this set, but the old one. And I’ve never used it because I’ve been too afraid lol. I thought the hart one was super fun and I’m looking forward to trying them all. ❤️❤️
Gday hun beautiful painting I love water painting and I didn’t think to use a biscuit cutter that is great I’ll have to check out Coles Woolies and ALDI for the cutter or even the reject shop take care lovely ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx
I love it when I can find new uses for random household items! Definitely give it a go. The reject shop would definitely be a good place to pick some up ⭐️🌈❤️
Omg all the backgrounds are so beautiful!! I can't choose one, they are all so lovely. But doesn't your page get all crinkly after the amount of water you use on it? I'm afraid to try it on thin pages, it might tear them.
Yes it does wrinkle a little bit! But what I do is actually iron the page afterwards with baking paper covering the page and that does wonders to smooth it out 🥰🌈💖
I do use masking fluid in Lulu Mayo's books. The paper has to be completely dry, though. I have the UK edition, so the paper quality is quite good. Try it again on a small surface and let it dry well. Good luck.
All of the backgrounds is absolutely beautiful 😍 love them all!!!!
Thank you so much!!! 🙌🏻🌈💖
Love all of these background ideas 😍🩷
Aww thank you so much 🙏🏻💖

I loved all three but if I have to pick one I’d say the heart background ❤😊
Thank you so much for watching! The heart background was really fun to create 🥰✨
I love them all❤
Thank you so much for watching! 🥰💖
Agreed with you. First one was my favorite too.
There’s something about a classic watercolor background that just hits the spot 👌🏻
I love all three backgrounds but my favorite is the hearts. I wonder,, doesn't water colour make the paper in your coloring book curl?
It wrinkles a little bit but covering the page with baking paper and then running a low temp iron over the top does wonders! 😍✨

Can you do a tutorial with Gouache?
That's a great idea! I'll add it to my list 😉

Yes I think that was my major faux pas there 🥲 I should definitely try it again. Thank you for the tip!
