I find that scene between Nate and Elena on the couch to be one of the most underappreciated yet beautiful moments in the whole series: Nate is finally letting himself be vulnerable and is willing to slow down after days of relentlessly chasing either the treasure or Sully, and it is in that moment truly catching up to him how this way of life and obsession is going to destroy him if he doesn't let things go. He already squandered his engagement to Elena, and because he sees how much care and love she still shows for both him and Sully, it dawns on him just how much he hurt her by choosing adventure and thrill-seeking every time they try to settle down with each other and establish a somewhat stable road forward. And all of that with just a look at a ring, "I'm sorry." and "I know." You feel that in some ways, they deeply understand one another.😊
