      Yet the dams were built both to comtrol flooding and to generate electricty .. @Peter Cunha

    I predict that whoever is responsible will pay pennies on the dollar towards the damage their criminal negligence caused, and the state, also a perpetrator, will be there to collect most of those pennies while the individuals affected will have to haggle and fight on their own.

      Depends? Are you driving a internal combustion car? We’re all part of the problem.

    • @JesusFriedChrist
      @JesusFriedChrist 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hyperdrive E Driving an internal combustion car is not the cause of flooding. Don’t be fucking ridiculous. We’re NOT all part of the problem. We are infinitesimally tiny and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The earth has been around for 4.5 BILLION years before us and will be here for billions of years after us. The earth has been both much, MUCH hotter and colder in the past. We are in a brief warm period in an Ice Age which is driven by MILANKOVITCH cycles, so curb your human centric self importance, bucko.

      @@hyperdrivee7922 What do Internal Cumbustions cars have to do with Hydroelectric Dams These Dams were built to control floods in 1925.. This is the first time they have failed .. Though there were floods in 1986 and 2007.
      I would say driving an electric car caused this with your logic... Want to know some real facts?
      Rep Upton,
      As Usual Government over regulation and total lack of common sense has caused another disaster in MI . Some Dams that were built around 1925 failed . After the EPA revoked a Power Generating License from a Private CO turning over authority to various Government Agencies. Some Local News Agencies have actually done some Investigate research on this matter..
      www.mlive.com/news/2020/05/owner-of-failed-dam-state-fought-over-wixom-lake-levels-before-flood.html?
      Since the Private CO lost their Power Generating Permit in 2018 , It sounds to me like Authority was relinquished to the State of MI I have read articles that say Governor Gretchen Whitmer Thinks that the Government should own and Operate such structures. There was a Local Government Authority in the Process of purchasing the Lake bottoms , dams and electrical power generating Turbines for $9.5 Million
      Their first concern was how much they can raise Property taxes on Home Owners ect.. They also talked about doing a study that would take until 2022 to get permits to improve the Spillway Structures and Procure a new Private Operator to manage their new source of income Electric sales. The Previous Private Owner tried to lower the Wixom Lake Level by 8 feet to avoid any Spring Rain Flood Disasters. You can look up the Court Documents.

      No answers yet. Just a lot of talk so far. The lakes will be back eventually, but the dams have to be repaired first, and before that happens the roads and bridges will take priority. It will take a long time to fix all of this. As you can see, there's a lot of damage and more upstream not shown in this video.
