Thank you for making me really is my childhood of making snow caves. And thank you for making me forget about my cancer and my other medical issues that I’m dealing with now I’m gonna keep on watching your videos actually love them and you guys are adorable I must say thank you for making me forget about my pain for a day Hope you had a happy Valentine’s Day and stay blessed
That reminded me of a snow cave my brother built when I was a kid. It was huge and they played poker in it. Thanks for the memory. Happy Valentine's day to you two. Safe travels.
Dude you’re the coolest kids ever and if my daughters marry a man like you, I’ll be the happiest woman ever. Taking them camping in a snow cave for Valentine’s Day and cooking? Yeah…that’s so rare and precious.
Aaaah, the memories come flooding back...i made plenty of snow caves, i absolutely love them... nothing like finding the inner child that went into hiding....Be Well💙
Omgggg i ❤ it! I’m from maine. Especially when i was a kid we got Tons of snow! Snow pilled so high you could touch tree tops. And we, me and neighborhood kids would spend winter building massive snow forts! Tunnels from one end of the street to the bottom. Your cave just brought back so many memories!
Maybe I missed it but I used to dig almost horizontally into a steep hill with my sleeping shelf above the entrance that way you throw the snow down and out instead of up. Then dome the roof for strength so it does not collapse.
It's incredible what you did and so cool. But just curious...what would happen if, for example, an elk or Moose walked on top of that while you were asleep?
wow, 100 inch snow pack. U 2 are Amazing and so cute, wow,,, Nice sunrise,, That was a lot of work. My mind could not compute 500 inches or more of snow oh my goodness.
Just found your channel end of last week and it’s been great as I’m stuck inside with a pretty bad case of the flu. Can’t wait to check out more videos.
I did that butter go with the strawberries? because if so I think that’s why it didn’t but Melt properly and curdled. Have to be honest I would never particularly wish to be in a snow cave but I enjoy watching other people do it
I wish I can do what you guys do always wanted to do it. I defo will one day after watching your videos 👍👍 you guys make it look so gorgeous and it is so gorgeous 🙂👌
Reminds me of building snow caves at Hurricane Ridge many times. It really makes for a cozy night and for all of that work I was hoping you got a couple of more nights in it. You had fun and that's what counts. Good video guys
@@TravelersTale If you can, find a tree that's dense enough that there is hardly any snow around the base bull the snow is deep around it's perimeter. Make a camp under there. It's really a fun place to set up and very cozy. There might be a heavy layer of moss and needles to make for a natural mattress. Just hope for not much of a raise in temp or you'll wake up in an ice cold bathtub! LOL
too much butter and the chocolate can not stick together, therefore will not sit on the strawberry. it also looks like there has been water in the chocolate. Must try to fail. Keeper up the goid work.
If you actually would’ve just melted the chocolate and dip the strawberries in it would’ve been better so next time you melt Chocolate do not add butter if you’re going to dip something in it or doing any type of chocolate making of any sorts
Bro, you lucky that you got awesome gf. Your energy match is unbelievable great. I’ve been hiking for five years, I have met a lot of partners but their energy never matched to mine. In a result I am on my own. I wish I find great life partner as you found the one.
Shouldn’t you make a warning sign or something to alert people that you are there, such as snow mobile riders who might drive over the top of where you are and fall in, with a risk of injuring you all, or worse? I do like what you do, I’m just curious to know how you assess the risk, so please don’t mistake my question as being censorious or antagonistic.
P.S- Sukayu Onsen has a JMA certified rate reported by Wikipedia as being 694.5 inches on average per year, though they have recently amended it to 672 inches. It is estimated that the mountains in Hokkaido and Northern Honshu receive between 1200 and 1500 inches of snow per year, though just as in the Cascades, these places are remote with no one living there. The reason for the insanely high rate of snowfall is that the Siberian High travels across the Sea of Japan, picking up moisture from the Pacific on the way. The Sea of Japan doesn’t freeze over in winter (except in small parts in freak, rare, cases) because it is travelling up from the south. It is in effect like a giant lake effect machine, except that the lakes freeze over to the degree that the fetch capabilities start to taper off, usually sometime in February, when enough of the surface of the lakes has frozen over (though perhaps not as much so with Lake Erie). What is even more amazing is that Sukayu Onsen is only situated at a very modest 3,000 feet above sea level and some places only a few miles in land from the Sea of Japan receive around 11 to 12 metres per year (about 434 to 473 inches) at around 500 feet above sea level, or even less.
Nature is like a woman who, showing from under her clothes first one part of her body, then another, gives persistent admirers some hope to know her all someday.

Nice work on the cave, great video. You place your stoves on a cork bed/base?

Crater Lake National Park = 42 feet of snow a year!
the self inflating sleep pads need to be blown up a little, especially if they are stored compressed.
Hi Do you always tell someone where you are going in case anything bad happens
We always let someone know when we visit remote places!
do u not need to fill the hole back in ?
Yes you are correct, first rule ALWAYS Fill it back in. Saves anyone from having a potential accident from comng across an unexpected hole

You need to get a travel cushion for your boney butt (I have the same problem, it seems to be a guy problem lol) 😂😂
I always forget to bring my pillow! -Everest
11:00 Impossible, mostly because I have an incredibly boney ass though. :'D
