Air travel is truly amazing! Planes that can stay airborne for up to 18 hours without stopping to refuel makes you appreciate the wonders of traveling by air.
Hell to the N and O. 18 hours is a long time to be on a plane even if you are in business class. It certainly does make it easier but sitting and only moving to use the bathroom is crazy. I used to go to the back to stretch but stopped after I saw a video about how flight attendants didn't like that.
Great video Noel. I love Singapore Airlines. Great service and food. Sometimes a bit pricy compared to other airlines. One time I gave up an economy aisle seat so an older couple could sit together. The next flight I booked with them they gave me a free upgrade to business class 🙂
The only A350ULR operator ever and Singapore Airlines has 7 A350ULR. Once again, thank you visiting Indonesia🇮🇩, Mr Noel. Don't forget for Indonesia's Aviation Adventure if you are coming back to Indonesia soon.
I did LAX to Singapore in Jan. 2024. It’s billed as the 3rd longest flight in the world. Pullback from the gate to touchdown in Singapore was exactly 18 hours to the minute. And business class made it totally enjoyable. The only way to go. Thanks for your video and report.
Did I miss the Premium economy cabin, you mentioned once or twice you would visit there. On the world's longest flight, again, you mentioned that once or twice too!! 😄
I agree with the others that it would’ve been a bigger accomplishment if you could’ve done this in an economy seat. Being in one of those ultra comfortable business class seats is no challenge at all. C’mon Noel, redo this trip in economy, and we will all be impressed!
I'd be absolutely fine in here for 18 hours - flying, for me, is one of the only places left in the world where you can disconnect from everything - I just find it SO relaxing!
Keep the vids coming, Noel! FYI the potable water protocol can vary by nationality, sadly. In the US, the FDA requires airlines to adhere to sanitation standards, but little oversight is given. Having said that, I have worked for two major airlines in a capacity involving potable water service and training of personnel in proper procedures. And I can say that from my perspective, the water is safe. In both cases, the potable water systems are flushed and sanitized with a proper sanitizing solution on regular maintenance intervals by A&P technicians. The weak link is the employee or contractor who refills the tank in between flights. But even then, that person would have to be grossly incompetent and make an extra effort to introduce contamination. Long story short, it’s possible to ingest contaminated water from an airplane’s potable water source, but it’s extremely unlikely. And as someone who has trained personnel in proper potable water procedures - and has witnessed the *actual* procedures - I drink the coffee on a regular basis.
Been there, done that. Well, 16 hours with a 1hr stopover, pretty close (Sydney to Munich via Dubai, cattle class, no "premium economy" for me because my employer paid for the flights). Yeah, it wasn't very fun. Thank goodness for per-seat inflight entertainment (I'm old enough to remember when that wasn't a thing), phone charging outlets, and good books.
Or U.S. Military contract flights with an extra 15 to 20 rows of seats jammed into the aircraft filled with drunk adults and grumpy kids and babies... We did those 4 roundtrips from McGuire AFB, New Jersey to Frankfurt, West Germany on either DC-8's or DC-10's...
Just had that type of flight, but in addition to the kid being obnoxious, he was also sick and spewing germs all over the place. And yes I did catch his nasty cold about four days later
Hi Noel, I did this flight in Premium Economy on the A350 ULR and even that was pretty good. If you are going to take this flight in Premium Economy, try to get the couple of seats that are on their own at the back of the cabin - you get a large storage box next to your seat (since there isn't enough room for a second seat between the isle and window) which you can use for some extra desk/tray space. I'd happily fly that route again in PE (but I'll certainly be looking for the BC deals you mentioned!)
Noel thank you for sharing this with us aviation enthusiasts. This particular flights on my bucket list who else can say they were in the sky for 18 and a half hours on a twin engine plane and actually not go insane 🙃.
Great Video Noel - Love the fact that your video covering your journey on the world's longest flight (18+hours) is shorter in length than your video covering your journey on the world's shortest flight (80 secs). Small minds and all that.
A full day on a plane would sound like a nightmare for a lot of people. I would love it however. Business class on an A350 for 19 hours sounds cool to me. Especially for the price you paid.
Actually, the shortest possible route (great-circle distance) from Singapore to New York is due north over Thailand, China, and Siberia until the Arctic Ocean, then crossing it almost above the North Pole until reaching Greenland on the other side and finally coming down south over Quebec to New York. However, more often than not the flight will follow the eastbound route you followed to get a little helping push from the jet stream, which nearly always blows eastward at middle latitudes. For the same reason, the return flight is also eastbound, over the Atlantic, Europe, the Middle East, and India. So, the two flights literally go around the world just to save fuel with the jet stream.
That was the routing (in reverse) we took. The boycott of overflying Russia is at the airline’s discretion (and of course their home government). Was not happy about this but…
@@DomingoDeSantaClara, not all countries are banned from flying in Russian airspace or are boycotting it on their own initiative, as you can easily see on Flightradar24. Another fantastic flight review from Noel! I really enjoy watching your videos! It is amazing that technology has advanced so far, and now 19 hour flights like this are possible.

Another amazing review Noel! My only speedbump (for lack of a better word) is the thought of going to bed, getting six hours of sleep, and then waking up to a steak dinner for "breakfast". Maybe it's because I don't eat breakfast to begin with, but I'm sure when you're not even sure what timezone you're in, and you wake up hungry, it'll hit the spot. Keep 'em coming! Waiting for you to review New Pacific/Ravn Alaska out of my home airport (ONT). Let me know when that day comes!!!
I used to fly to Buenos Aires from the UK via Frankfurt/Dakar/Rio/Sao Paulo in the late 70s early 80s. Those flights although not continuous were insanely long and not too disimilar to this.
Great video. From what I know aircraft water is typically drained periodicallyl about 3 days, and disinfected regularly so yes, onboard water is safe for consumption and I'm pretty sure majority of airlines do this because who would want to face backlash from someone who drank aircraft water and got ill from bacterial growth in the water.
We took this flight (actually the one EWR-SIN-EWR return) before Covid in the cheap seats, premium economy. While you don't get a lie-flat bed and service levels are definitely lower than in business class, the flight was surprisingly comfortable. Lots of choices on the inflight entertainment, and the "book a cook" meals were certainly up to standard, and I certainly could doze off enough not to be totally wrecked by the time we arrived. Obviously Noel got a great deal on business class, but I think we paid about that amount for the seats in the back, and felt it was overall good value.
I have to say something about my favorite city, New York City. I used to go on day trips into New York, and I used to take the bus. It’s amazing. You take the Lincoln tunnel and, once you exit the tunnel, you are in a whole different world. You are on the island of Manhattan, which is totally different than the surrounding areas. I love New York City!

Great flight review Noel . SQ so far has been my favourite Airline to fly with . I did the longest n/s flight many years ago from LAX to SYD on a QF B744 in just over 14 hrs. Amazing how the A350s are flying these incredible distances.😀
Enjoyed your video. I am glad you had an enjoyable 18-hour trip. I never been on the longest flight, but I have been pretty close with 16 and 17-hour flights from Eastern USA to Asia with connecting flight ironically to Bali via Delta Airlines. This was before Covid and economy. Delta did actually give an amenity kit to those with economy that even included slippers. After the 17-hour flight, I had a mad rush to my connecting flight to Bali, which wasn't so fun.
We use reverse osmosis cleaning at our airline quie regularly. The coffee on the plane is made with aircraft potable water. Pretty rare for samples to fail.
I wonder whether your route over the Bering Sea was because SQ are avoiding Russian airspace? The most common used (used to be) over Irkutsk in eastern Siberia. Great video Noel.
Wow, I am flying the new DFW to Auckland route in a few months and I thought that was ridiculously long at 16 hours and 7900 miles. I'm already dreading the flight itself - I'm in economy (although I did get aisle exit row seats), I'm claustrophobic and the longest flight I've taken so far was 10 hours from Frankfort to DFW.

I flew 14 hours in economy from Osaka to Zurich (then London) back in 2000. Never again. I was well and truly stir crazy by the end. I vowed ever since never to fly legs longer than 8 hours in flight followed by an overnight stopover somewhere before continuing on. I never get jetlag that way.
Quite surprised to see SQ's Business Class on a 18 hour marathon to be that cramped and obviously not too much of legroom. At the end of the day, it may always depend on the "deal" you are able to make 🙂Brilliant video as always, Noel !

In the pantheon of great survival stories I rate this one near the top. I mean, the account of the guy who survived 27 hours without oxygen trapped on a ledge just below Everest summit was impressive don't get me wrong, as was one woman's account of 14 months as a hostage held in Syria, but Noel somehow making it through many hours in Singapore airlines business class with only vintage champagnes, sumptuous food, 100's of movies and fully flat bed to take his mind off of the suffering has got to be up there.
I'm doing LAX-SIN-LAX in March, normally I enjoy long haul J, for this one, ambien will be packed in large quantities....At least it's on SQ and not UA.
Love the challenging music. Amazing how the plane can hold that much fuel. Looking forward to flying with those kinds of seats. Cool arriving at your destination a day before you took off.
one small thing what i think josh is doing better is adressing the crew performance, because i think thats a good way to distinct different flights and airlines.
Another great video Noel.. one epic journey.. 18 hours is so long to be in the air! Amazing that aircraft can do this now. Can you tell who you booked the flight through please!
great video 👍longest flight i've done is the SIN-LHR on many occasions but i've got EWR-SIN booked for next year in seat 10A...i remember when they first launched this flight back in 2004 with the A345 and thinking how cool it would be to fly but never thinking i would ever get the chance to do it, let alone in business.
The pedal to open the trash in the lavatory is really cool and a much needed update. But please wear at least slippers when going to the loo. The floor is always really nasty in there..
Noel. Your opening background song was absolutely brilliant along with your editing. The introduction built me up like I was going on… the world’s longest flight. Or I was about to watch a John Wick movie. Haha
That was an interesting one... The longest flight i've done was with Philippine Airlines, PR720 from Manila to Heathrow. It took just over 15 hours although it should have been quicker than that! Not sure what delayed us, it took over 8 hours just to fly through Russia, and we did a couple of circuits of the Lambourne Hold. But when we came in we used 27R even though all other arrivals were using 27L.... i wonder if we were getting short of fuel and ATC got us in quick using the departures runway?.....
Honestly, one of the best channels on TH-cam at the moment. The fact Noel doesn't have 1 million subscribers is just wrong, in my opinion. Keep up the great work, Noel. fantastic content as always!
Two amazing things here: 1. That a commercial aircraft can fly for over 18 hours without stopping 2. That Noel would want to do that, and he enjoys it. To me, it would feel like I was facing a prison sentence 😅 Noel should win the “Golden Buttocks Award” for sitting that long 😉
It's supposedly safe to drink potable water on a plane, at least on our aircraft (British, orange). Samples are regularly taken for analysis. But considering we're technically authorised to uplift water in places like Egypt, then I'd stay well away from it. Treat yourself to a bottle of Highland Spring. The crew only drink it in hot drinks if it's been boiled first. Also don't forget different aircraft do different routes each day. So don't assume that because you're on a domestic route from London - Belfast, that the water in the tanks was from either there. It could have been to Egypt the day before. Fantastic videos as always Noel. I hope to have you as a passenger on my plane one day.
18 hours is a crazy long flight holy crap!!! The longest flight I been on was 14 hours and some change from Seattle to Hong Kong and I was happier doing it last time from LA to Taiwan, which is a little shorter.
This flight review is awesome thanks Noel,18+hours in a plane in business class has to be a win win.,but not sure if premium economy would be suitable or good enough for that time length.BTW Noel, have you ever flown to New Zealand?.
I'd love to know if there's any turbulence etc on flights like those? I've done one "long haul" (9 hours to Cuba) where it was quite bumpy over the sea, and the rest short haul. The idea of turbulence scares the hell out of me.

You win 😂😂
My heart bled for the poor soul having to endure that 😂
You WIN! 😂
fair go, I didn't see a single peeled grape !!
It's the absence of caviar that makes this experience so grueling. The man has real endurance.
Singapore Airlines was named one of the top 5 best airlines. Welcome to New York Noel!
I'm doing LAX-SIN-LAX in March, normally I enjoy long haul J, for this one, ambien will be packed in large quantities....At least it's on SQ and not UA.
Wish I'd not looked at the comments 😔 Noel your videos are aspirational and keep me motivated to level up.
Love the challenging music. Amazing how the plane can hold that much fuel. Looking forward to flying with those kinds of seats. Cool arriving at your destination a day before you took off.
You certainly hit the Quercus jackpot on this one! As a Quercus enthusiast, I can certainly say that is some top quality Quercus.
What is the URL for the website what you got the amazing ticket. Love your channel and I enjoy your unbiased airline reviews
I can’t find it as well. Searched for fly it all but I can’t find any website called that.
Be good if he could post a link to the site
I believe he’s referring to Flyer talk. It’s more of a forum and news site. He probably saw the deal on there.
The FlyerTalk forum. You need to be a member.
@@bardo0007 You do not need to be a member.
one small thing what i think josh is doing better is adressing the crew performance, because i think thats a good way to distinct different flights and airlines.
Another great video Noel.. one epic journey.. 18 hours is so long to be in the air! Amazing that aircraft can do this now.
Can you tell who you booked the flight through please!
Flyertalk
I dunno how you do it , Noel !
Such a long time on a plane !
But the comfort, facilities, food and staff definitely would help.
Thank you 😊 for another video this week Noel. My son absolutely loves it. All the best.
My pleasure 😊
You keep throwing me off with midweek videos. Really enjoying them!
great video 👍longest flight i've done is the SIN-LHR on many occasions but i've got EWR-SIN booked for next year in seat 10A...i remember when they first launched this flight back in 2004 with the A345 and thinking how cool it would be to fly but never thinking i would ever get the chance to do it, let alone in business.
Haha
Singapore Airlines is by far my favourite! Been to Singapore nine times, so far :)
Wow Noel thank you for all the content this week 🙂 keep up the amazing work and videos
Thanks! Will do!
@@noelphilips Worlds LONGEST Flight:; Air New Zealand
New York to Auckland. - 19+ - HOURS ???
@@mtl-ss1538 It's 17h 55m, not 19+
@@ultracubing5032 yes + 90 minutes for flying into the strong jet stream. as they got to very low fuel reserves.
Wow, thank you!
I agree. He's pleasant, and his content is interesting to watch.
@@noelphilips welcome !
I did SQ from SIN to Houston with a stopover in Manchester, 26 hours total. Awesome flight.
I was hanging for the tour of premium economy Noel! I'd love to take this flight, but business class is a bit too expensive.
Mate ur body would kill itself off in economy on such a long flight haha
2 midweek uploads???!!! Happy Thanksgiving indeed Noel. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the states good sir.
Two amazing things here:
1. That a commercial aircraft can fly for over 18 hours without stopping
2. That Noel would want to do that, and he enjoys it. To me, it would feel like I was facing a prison sentence 😅
Noel should win the “Golden Buttocks Award” for sitting that long 😉
I would definitely donate towards that award!
I've done the 16.5 hour DFW-SYD and I can say that Ambien was my best friend.
Isn't that by prescriptions only?
"ho chicken usually don't have scales, so I think it might be fish" 🤣🤣🤣 you made my day
Thank you Noel for all the videos you do, I like watching you! Greetings from Australia.
Glad you like them!
Another great video! Thanks for always entertaining Noel ✈️🚌🚂🍀⭐️
18 hours is a crazy long flight holy crap!!! The longest flight I been on was 14 hours and some change from Seattle to Hong Kong and I was happier doing it last time from LA to Taiwan, which is a little shorter.
New drinking game. Take a drink every time Noel says 18 hours :D
You do get an amenity kit you just tell them what you want it’s on the menu that way they only give out what is being used.
No, the amenity kits are all prepacked & all contain the same things.
Hi Noel great video did 16 hours with air New Zealand once
This flight review is awesome thanks Noel,18+hours in a plane in business class has to be a win win.,but not sure if premium economy would be suitable or good enough for that time length.BTW Noel, have you ever flown to New Zealand?.
Really enjoying all the videos
Noel bet u looking forward to getting home to the family
The a350 is a thing of beauty
Absolutely beautiful bird.
I'd love to know if there's any turbulence etc on flights like those? I've done one "long haul" (9 hours to Cuba) where it was quite bumpy over the sea, and the rest short haul. The idea of turbulence scares the hell out of me.
Have a look at Mentour Pilot's channel - he has a great video about turbulence that put my mind at ease about it (I was terrified too)
Excellent video 📹
The view of New York is unmistakable.
Excellent video Noel. That was a long flight for sure!
Thanks a lot!
Sleeping 6 hours on a plane? I wish I could sleep 6 hours in my own bed never mind on a plane.
Exactly what I was thinking 😅
Maybe that's what we need,to fly to sleep lol
Hi, Great vid, love the A350, could you please put a link in the description to the web site you mentioned, Fly it all, Fly if all !! can't find it when Googling, for it.
Same, I have been trying to find it desperately!
7;53 he mumbles it on purpose
Found out the place that Noel found this, it is 'FlyerTalk' it is on several of the social network platforms.
did anyone catch the name of the website he used to find cheap flights?
I would like to know as well. It sounded like he said “fly it often” but I can’t seem to find it.
Subtitles said Fly At All, but couldn’t find that. I thought I heard Via Touch but that’s also not right
GOT IT!
Flyer Talk
Flyertalk
But there’s no flight deals on there it’s just a forum?
Thank you for sharing this! I'm a new subscriber and absolutely love your videos. I was just telling someone about you and we were talking about this particular flight! Great timing 😅
Awesome! Thank you!
Could anyone please tell me what was the website that Noel used to find the flight, it was a bit hard to understand what he said. Thanks👍
@@robertjacobsen410 I think it was Flyer Talk. It’s more of a bulletin board where members post trip reports & deals they find, rather than a search engine.
"Survive" when you are flying in First/Business class. I enjoy every bit of it. Survive may be a word more suitable for coach.
Wow another video this week it's getting better and better :)
Glad to hear it!
Thanks Noel!!! Have always wanted to try this flight. Living in Brooklyn I can easily get to JFK. Gotta visit a friend over in Indonesia. Have also seen many cheap fares in business class on this one too.
Great to see a new video on a Friday evening. Got my snacks and ready to fly…
Enjoy!
Smashing the content out this week Noel 😄 Great stuff as always, hope you and the family are settling into Texas
WTF!!!!!!! Noel Phillips overload????? Hey. Not that Im complaining, but this is usual. Love it though. Thanks mate.
Love your vids as always! The flight looked amazing, I'd love to try l9ng haul one day. I'm so glad to see you didn't end up back at the JFK INN 😆🤭🙈
Liked the soundtrack.. Also around the 27 minute mark I initially thought you said "I've slept and drunk, I've worked and drunk." I don't blame you 😂
Look into your video sponsor Noel. Other TH-camrs are posting in the last 24 hours that this company is a sham.
"Chicken doesn't normally have scales" is my new favourite phrase
Bonus videos for Thanksgiving! Gotta love Noel!
Enjoy!
Great video once again. Thank you Lord Noel.
Hey Noel, can you post the website you mentioned in the comments? Great vid as always!😊
Found out the place that Noel found this, it is 'FlyerTalk' it is on several of the social network platforms.
I love how the flight attendant tucked you in Noel :) another great video sir!
