I was actually thinking the same.... AKROPOLIS, LA SAGRADA FAMILIA, SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE. I think its travellers basic knowledge about famous world known landmarks. Also comparing Sydney with Newcastle is somehow ironic.
Having only just recently made the 35 hr/3 flight journey home from Bali to Heathrow I salute you sir! 😂 The longest flight was 13 hrs in Economy with Lufthansa…hellish!
Yup, but flying Southwest in the US, the most expensive US airline, is a gross violation of "low cost" claim. I fly all the time and Southwest is a great marketing machine because it's nearly always the most expensive yet people believe it's "low cost".
I stumbled across your greyhound across america video, saw it was like 40 minutes long and thought, well F that, im not going to watch a guy on a bus for 40 minutes.... 40 minutes later and here I am looking at your other videos. Reminds me of a mileage run I once did, though definitely more hard core. To make my 120,000 threshold and get the extra upgrades, I once flew SEA->SFO->KCL->ORD->HOU->SFO->SEA for $250, and the weekend between Christmas and New Years. I get to the checkin desk, and when the machine spits out all 6 boarding passes, the woman behind the desk looks at me and goes "You're doing a mileage run aren't you?"

Southwest has their ups and downs cancellation-wise, but you can always count on their crews to put you in a good mood...that safety briefing had me cracking up!
As an aviation maintenance worker, I appreciate your content. ULCC (Ultra low cost carriers) is a physical challenge, not just a challenge of timing. Need to see if you have ever done a global first class, short leg only episode.
"with scoot you're not allowed to bring your own food" ok but like how are they going to enforce that? if you just put it in your bag they can't really check and it's not like airport security is looking out for kitkats
This is the first video of yours I've seen (I think) and I must say, it's refreshing and pleasant to see so many people (civilians and flight crew) that follow and recognize you. Good on you for being a cool dude!
As an aussie, I heard jet star and was scared for you. I’ve now realised that our standard for low cost is still better than airlines like scoot, 11 hours in what looks like a shitty coach bus seat with no tv looked like hell, jet star now seems phenomenal in comparison. Still don’t trust them to not cancel or delay my domestic flight by 6 hours 😅
I flew Scoot Chiang Mai to it's hub in Singapore, because in 2020 SQ to NZ was my only option, that Scoot flight was the absolute worst of my life, and SQ just does not live up to its hype in premium economy either. Then there was the compulsory masks in a plane with NINE passengers. A nightmare trip.
Hey, Aussie here too. I flew both Jetstar internationally and domestically recently. Since I’ve flown virgin Australia domestically a lot I can say that Jetstar international flights are about the same quality as virgin Australia domestic. However, for Jetstar domestic, it was really bad. At least I wasn’t canceled, but I was stuck in the boarding line for 45 minutes. I was so tired from my previous connecting flight that I slept before we took of and woke upon landing. Jetstar international was still very uncomfortable though.
Flew Scoot Perth to Singapore on a 787-9. It was like flying Ryanair but medium/long-haul, and with worse food. Pretty shocking that it's owned by Singapore Airlines, almost like the people in the quality department started wondering "how unpleasant can we make economy travel?"
I must have gotten really lucky because I've flown jetstar domestically 8 times and never had a delay longer than 20 minutes and never had a cancellation. Sure, maybe, it isn't the most comfortable but it has allowed me to travel around Australia without completing breaking the bank and I'm thankful for that
Fair play to you for doing this mamouth task. Its just proves what is possible in todays aviation world. I love how you show a bit of each country or states culture and history while your there. You are super polite to everyone. It really helps. Im teaching my daughters about manners and we got upgraded once as we were chatting to staff then they surprised us. My local coffee shop gives me the odd freeby too bless them. Just being nice makes everyone else feel nice too xxxx 💖💕
Southwest is one of my favorite airline despite being lowcost. My aunt was a flight attendant for them for decades so my family has some brand loyalty, but even the more prestigious airlines can hardly beat the 2 free checked bags that they offer and their safety record. I also love the wifi on board and the friendliness of the flight attendants. Of course, I wasn't affected by their logistical melt down over christmas, so I imagine if I had experienced that I would have soured on them.
Imagine Noel taking the Scoot flight from Singapore to Manila and then the Cebu Pacific A330 from Manila to Sydney as part of the 80 hour low cost challenge? That would be even another headache!
I appreciate your commitment to the low cost experience as you sailed by the window exit row seat on SWA with the double leg room. The greatest advantage of SW is the flexibility of scheduling which still is better than most others. Congratulations on your circumnavigation!
Awesome video Noel Back in 2014 me and my friend did around the world in 53 hrs never leaving the airports.. FLL-CVG-CDG-NRT-JFK-FLL. Best flights I’ve ever had and people thought I was crazy. Slept a total of 3 hrs on all my flights. Keep up the great work.

Back then in 1873 when, Jules Verne wrote Around the World in 80 Days, which is a real Achievement! Today in 2023, some ordinary man can do it for 80 Hours! Congratulations Noel!
Nellie Bly actually managed to replicate that trip in less than 80 days. The point of Verne's novel was that anyone (with enough money) could do that trip, on regularly scheduled carriers -- steamers, trains and such.
@@chuckoneill2023 Thank you! I'm hearing about her for the first time. I read about her now and see that she managed to go around the world in 72 days in 1890! A testament to the human spirit and drive! :)
Not really comparable, really. One trip is made on the surface, with the traveller visiting exotic places while the other is spent mostly in the air or in terminals where nothing much is seen or experienced.
Travel tip for YOU, Noel. When getting a NYC cab...get in first, close the door, and THEN tell them where you wanna go. Once you're inside, they have accepted you as a fare and they HAVE to take you wherever you asked to go.
Noel, since you travel many hours at a time on a plane, mostly stationary, this is where strokes and heart attacks can come from, you may want to talk to your doctor about taking an aspirin or two a day or two before flying many hours. Deep leg thrombosis is very dangerous. All the best as usual and thank you for sharing your experiences.
I did a similar RTW trip many years ago. I traveled on Pan Am... on all B747s. The total cost was $1199. I could have done it for less, $999 - but without a confirmed seat. Plenty of leg room, a big comfortable seat and oh... all meals, beverages and snacks were included in that fare. For comparison, the only in-flight amenity that I didn’t have back then was the variety of individual seat-back entertainment. Obviously air travel has changed. I truly miss those days.... and Pan Am too!!!
I flew from Tampa to Vegas on Frontier and the leg room was so bad I was in agony. It took me a day to recover from being so sore. The flight back I upgraded to safety aisle and it was fine.
Congratulations!🎉 As a former flight attendant for 33 years, I definitely circumnavigated our planet countless times, serving countless numbers of passengers from all over our planet. And I loved my job and met countless friendly people from all over the planet. But I could never survive an 80hrs. trip around the world, mostly squeezed in low-cost carriers' economy class. Probably you had to put me in a medical intensive care unit in Singapore 😂 or Melbourne, at the latest. I can still remember the mid 1990's, when a around-the-world ticket cost the same, but on full service airlines.

Great video, as always. Highlight was Southwests safety announcement from Hawaii. I think a lot of airlines forgot that flying can be fun and safe. Good to see that still exists in places.
As a frequent traveler on Vueling, i can say that space plus is definitely more leg room.. if you think it wasn't much, you should have tried the normal seats! :)
So glad you have the black light for my favourite ever loo review! Please use that every time, especially on business and first class to find out the TURTH!!
Really enjoyed this, Noel. How do you put together an itinerary like that? What tools do you use? How do you workout which intermediate airports will work? I imagine that must have taken more than 80 hours in itself!
I start with Google Flights & look for places I haven't been to. I also search for airlines & planes I haven't flown on yet. I then put together a 2 or 3 week filming trip that I can hit as many of those as I can. It does take a lot of time to put them together.
Nice one dude. Well done and extremely brave to give this a go. Once I did an RTW in a combination of Business/First via One World. I was totally exhausted and spent - I would never try this at the back of bus. Congratulations.
I was sympathetically exhausted after watching the 42 minute video- I can’t even imagine flying the entire 79+ hours in the air, in the airports, dealing with the fellow passengers…. Noel- thank you so much for doing these videos! I love being able to see these snapshots of places around the globe that I could never normally see! I especially like when you do a review of the meals in business class. Reminds me of flying in the 80s and 90s with my mom, when I was fortunate enough to fly with her frequently. Flying was always an adventure, something to be embraced and celebrated! A special day. (Unlike now, when it’s more considered a stressor than anything.). Back then, it was a treat. You looked forward to the meal- how cool to be eating a fancy meal while flying up high in the sky! If you were lucky, the pilot would show you the cockpit. Once that travel bug hits you, it’s there for life! Thank you for instilling a love of flying and travel via your videos.

Well done Noel, a great watch and you're always so courteous even when completely and utterly exhausted. So, your next challenge...the Ryanair challenge? Starting in the U.K, work your way around Europe, visiting every country within Europe and back to the U.K, only using Ryanair...in 7 days. Noel, I learned a lot about each low cost carrier thanks to you in-depth video. It was also nice to see major landmarks again or for the first time from the perspective of your lens.
In my opinion, Scoot long-haul is not for everyone, you have to be very flexible and be willing to deal with long periods of discomfort in an effort to save hundreds on airfare. Personally I also believe Scoot would be more suitable for short/medium-haul high revenue regional flights
I admire your bravery on going on low cost airlines around the world, must've been hell. Also shoutout to those SWA FA's that gave you something a tiny bit special for your journey. All other crew thank you for your work too 👍
I'm flying low cost from NYC to LHR later this year, and you've filled me with reassurance that I'll survive by doing this trip and sharing this video, so thank you! Haha
I'm amazed that Jetstar didn't take up the full 80Hrs just to get you out of Australia. Jetstar can be a good airline IF and only IF you get them on a good day. There are time where Jetstar can be a real pain to fly with delays, cancellations and even some nasty staff but I got to admit I've been very lucky with them and had some good flights and good staff. It's only recently they have decided to pull their socks up and make things better so hopefully they do. Our new budget airline Bonza airlines is already giving Jetstar a thrashing.
I've thought about doing something like this, but have so far chickened out. 'Adventure' is a massive euphemism. I once did CCU-DAC-BOM-KHI-TAS-SVO-LED-LHR on Soviet era Aeroflot. It took 42 hours and I would NOT wish to repeat it, adventure or not. I congratulate you!

Those low cost airline flights were a real blast from the past. My Dad worked as a gate/ticket/fueling agent for Northwest for almost 30 years. The 70's was our family's time for international travel, and those cramped seats and packed planes were the only way to fly (for us). The food was great, though. On one overseas flight home, me, my little brother, and our parents had four separate non-revenue seats in different parts of the plane. They'd take turns checking on us kids.🛫

It's nearly 4 years believe it or not. 2019 felt like yesterday.
😂 😂 Me too. First video and I've been addicted since.
You know what I like about you Noel, you don’t just travel first class like some other reviewers and take the easy option. I admire that you travelled economy for 80 hours. A real flier, well done !
Thank you!
As an Aussie its so nice to see Airline staff and viewers alike greet you with such enthusiasm and friendliness.
The suffering you put yourself through for our entertainment, especially compared to some other aviation TH-camrs, never ceases to amaze me
Suffering?!?
The dude is doing something billions of people alive today couldn’t even dream of.
Suffering. Get the FCK out of here
Other Airline youtubers: "$40,000 FIRST CLASS, BUT FREE FOR ME LADS! HOW FAR UP MY OWN ASS CAN I SOUND IN THIS VIDEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Suffering ??? Try working a real job with a family to support.
Suffering ? Go to any Third world nation thats suffering you clown.
This channel is a way to make money. Some people think TH-camrs make videos out of the goodness of their hearts.
@@cwg73160 Sure, but that’s ok. We gain from their experience.
Love that Noel deliberately mispronounces famous landmarks and no one notices. Barcelona church, the apocalypse and the Sydney theatre thing 😂 great video again 👍🏻
It's called intelligent audacity.
I went back three times to check if I misheard, but no, the famous, ancient Apocalypse
I was actually thinking the same.... AKROPOLIS, LA SAGRADA FAMILIA, SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE. I think its travellers basic knowledge about famous world known landmarks. Also comparing Sydney with Newcastle is somehow ironic.
Ok I wasn’t sure if he was serious or not
Haha. I thought it was just me and my imagination, but yep he did say apocalypse.
Having only just recently made the 35 hr/3 flight journey home from Bali to Heathrow I salute you sir! 😂
The longest flight was 13 hrs in Economy with Lufthansa…hellish!
I remember your previous around the world video from a few years ago. Thank you for taking us along a new tour. Lord Noel, you are just incredible!
Flying MEL-SYD on Qantas isn’t cheating. What you had there was a genuine, typical Jetstar experience 🤣
🤣😂
exactly
Yup, but flying Southwest in the US, the most expensive US airline, is a gross violation of "low cost" claim. I fly all the time and Southwest is a great marketing machine because it's nearly always the most expensive yet people believe it's "low cost".
❤
They once cancelled our flight on Christmas Day (!) but put us immediately on a Qantas one, so we didn't really mind haha.
I stumbled across your greyhound across america video, saw it was like 40 minutes long and thought, well F that, im not going to watch a guy on a bus for 40 minutes.... 40 minutes later and here I am looking at your other videos. Mildy entertaining, somewhat informative, occasionally comical and you seem like a pretty nice guy. Thanks Noel, keep up the good work
Reminds me of a mileage run I once did, though definitely more hard core.
Wow.... That must have been exhausting. Where did you sleep during the trip?
@@liftoffandtravel Mostly on the plane (it was all in economy too), and a nap here and there in the lounges. I was (much) younger back then and could do that kind of stupid stuff.
@@nonenowherebye Man im so jealous. Long ago i was trying to get the upgrade into silver for LM, and i was short on the mileage runs (i had the miles flown but not the sectors), and i didnt know how to get em. Now im really short on money and wish i could have flown again.
"New years"
New year's what?
@@toernebohmite Eve. Obviously.
Southwest has their ups and downs cancellation-wise, but you can always count on their crews to put you in a good mood...that safety briefing had me cracking up!
All flights have there ups and downs
The "stop screaming" had me laughing lots until I considered who was my favourite child. Now I know I am now prepared for this eventuality 😢
Great video. Flight Attendants deserve that recognition for all they do dealing with everyone's garbage. You deserve recognition also.👏
This is the first video of yours I've seen (I think) and I must say, it's refreshing and pleasant to see so many people (civilians and flight crew) that follow and recognize you.
Still don’t trust them to not cancel or delay my domestic flight by 6 hours 😅
no scoot is 1000% better than Junkstar
Sure, maybe, it isn't the most comfortable but it has allowed me to travel around Australia without completing breaking the bank and I'm thankful for that
The Scoot $15 “food” and landing 😆 Loved the addition of the black light! Southwest FAs are usually pretty funny 😆
I love them too, but that incident where the woman died really affected me
I still think SWA is preferable to Spirit and JetBlue
I'm flown spirit and Southwest and I would choose Southwest all day
Imagine Noel taking the Scoot flight from Singapore to Manila and then the Cebu Pacific A330 from Manila to Sydney as part of the 80 hour low cost challenge? That would be even another headache!
Id pay you to do that!
Dubai to Manila to Sydney on Cebu Pacific ❤
LOL Noel wouldn't make the 80 hours limit.
He did such a ultra density flight with Cebu
Is that one the all economy airplane?
I appreciate your commitment to the low cost experience as you sailed by the window exit row seat on SWA with the double leg room. The greatest advantage of SW is the flexibility of scheduling which still is better than most others. Congratulations on your circumnavigation!
Awesome video Noel
Back in 2014 me and my friend did around the world in 53 hrs never leaving the airports..
FLL-CVG-CDG-NRT-JFK-FLL. Best flights I’ve ever had and people thought I was crazy. Slept a total of 3 hrs on all my flights. Keep up the great work.
What airlines did you take? FLL-CVG to hop on Delta I assume? Didn't they end up massively overbuilding that airport?
@@RobJaskula yes it was delta and yes they did overbuild it and today it is a shell of what it was.
Hooray - more of these types of videos of low-cost airline endurance please, since these are what most of us fly on- great video though
I'm only a few seconds into this. Other than the obvious reasons, I find myself in my head asking WHY? I get it.. views, sponsorships, showing people the feel of it etc. etc., but.. man.. this must have been BRUTAL by the end. Just figuring it all out and not missing a flight is impressive enough.. well let's see how it goes. God Bless you Noel, you're a brave man! (and you have a funny accent so even better!)
That's insane! *I'm* exhausted just thinking about it!
Thanks for bringing us along!
@@purrfekt of course, you are right. I just mention from the raw time perspective
You can do it in a lot less than 80 hours! If you do a few long haul ones
Noel Phillips is do popular everywhere in the world! His videos are great!🙏🙏🙏
Congratulations Noel on becoming the first aviation youtuber who flashes black light on aircraft loos. Its an industry first
"How did it get up there??" 😂😳
I heard Noel's changing the name to the "Goo Review" lol GROSS!
I wonder what he would find if he flashed that light around his seat! 22:57
Travel tip for YOU, Noel. When getting a NYC cab...get in first, close the door, and THEN tell them where you wanna go. Once you're inside, they have accepted you as a fare and they HAVE to take you wherever you asked to go.
In this case you'll struggle to find a taxi driver that won't take you from an airport to an airport.
@indyracingnut. Exactly. That's what I do.
I love the diverse fans you have all over the world, and all such wholesome people!
Congratulations!🎉
As a former flight attendant for 33 years, I definitely circumnavigated our planet countless times, serving countless numbers of passengers from all over our planet.
I can still remember the mid 1990's, when a around-the-world ticket cost the same, but on full service airlines.
how long were you a crew? And what made you not scared of plane crash?
@@corykong6510 I was a flight attendant with Lufthansa German Airlines from 1982 until my early retirement in 2015.
33 years as a full-time crew, and not a single severe accident.
You are a legend for all the suffering you chooses to go through. That 11 hour on Scoot looked absolutely miserable-no headrest on seat and no entertainment screen sweet jesus 😂
I was about to mention your bravery & stamina for doing this, then you mentioned cost to coast on greyhound 😂🤦♀️ You deserve a medal 🥇
Great video, as always. Highlight was Southwests safety announcement from Hawaii. I think a lot of airlines forgot that flying can be fun and safe. Good to see that still exists in places.
41:08 wow, even the cabin crew were impressed with your challenge, you deserve this moment. :)
As a frequent traveler on Vueling, i can say that space plus is definitely more leg room.. if you think it wasn't much, you should have tried the normal seats! :)
Great show Noel! I’m sure this was a lot harder at 6’4” than it would be for me at 5’3”! 😂😂. Thank you for biting the bullet
So glad you have the black light for my favourite ever loo review! Please use that every time, especially on business and first class to find out the TURTH!!
Noel, so kind of you to greet people even when rushing to your next flight. Fascinating video. Thanks from New Zealand!😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
love how you went from 'not bad for a low cost airline' to 'loads of leg room' on the southwest max 8
My lord. Not since Lindbergh crossing the Atlantic has there been such a dramatic first in aviation. You really put yourself through it for us Noel!
Congratulations, Noel! I'm sure your sunny disposition masks all the worries of making it, but got did it!! It was a very fun video too!
You may go through physical hell on your journeys but these videos are so relaxing to watch. You're always taking the viewer on a new adventure and gives me so much inspiration for where to travel next. All the very best for your upcoming travels!
Thank you for your kind words!
Appreciate you Mr. Philips for doing what you do and thanks much for sharing your experience in this adventurous video.
Thank you!
I’ve watched the majority of your vids, but the moment I remember above all is when you’re welcomed on board by the steward in Sydney. A real laugh out loud moment
Well done Noel, a great watch and you're always so courteous even when completely and utterly exhausted. So, your next challenge...the Ryanair challenge? Starting in the U.K, work your way around Europe, visiting every country within Europe and back to the U.K, only using Ryanair...in 7 days. You know you can do it and Mr. O'Leary will love you forever! Keep up the good stuff, great videos, always entertaining on our dull U.K evenings 🙂
What a joyous video! As someone that spends a lot of his life on planes and in airports it's a joy to watch someone that truly loves to travel and share their amazing experiences. Keep up the good work Noel. You're one of the good guys
Thank you!
Noel, I learned a lot about each low cost carrier thanks to you in-depth video. It was also nice to see major landmarks again or for the first time from the perspective of your lens.
Glad you enjoyed it!
All other crew thank you for your work too 👍
How is that brave?
I feel like JetStar rebooking you on Quanta is a major power move.. That's a nice network to fall back on if they miss a flight.
I usually can’t last an entire vlog video, they aren’t usually my style of videos to watch, but yours has been very entertaining, great video!

Vueling gets terrible reviews but I found both ground and airport staff very gracious and accommodating
I just returned a few weeks ago from an absolutely incredible trip to Australia and walking through Melbourne Tullamarine Airport gave me a nice flashback ❤
Hey from Australia! I heard Jetstar and was a little hesitant for you but it was amazing to see people so happy to see you. Can’t deny we have some of the friendliest airline staff around! 😊
What a great video. That must have been a blur to say the least. And a wonderful shoutout to flight attendants. They are indeed appreciated beyond words.
Hi Noel, great video as always 😊FYI today you became a star in the Slovak National Broadcasting program dealing with interesting facts and people around the world with your 80 hours round-the-world low-cost trip. 😀 Congrats and warm greetings from Slovakia
Been a subscriber for around 2 years! I hope this channel gets to a million subscribers by the end of the year and thank you Noel for all your hard work and great content!!
for more visibility he should make a joint video with some other aviation geek, like Sam Chui. Artists do that to sell more records 😊
Noel's talent to endure suffering for views is quite unrivalled in the travel space!
Enduring suffering is Noel's raison d'etre. It allows him to have his usual moan. Sad Sack personified.
You are mental for putting yourself through this torture mate!!
Love the gratitude to the flight attendants!

I’m not sure if you meant apocalypse or acropolis but judging by the view both are a fitting description 9:17
I applaud you Noel, you're brave! Do a luxury round the world next time ❤️
Another brilliant video. It's really remarkable to think you circumnaviated the whole world. 80 hours in low cost airlines (50 hours flying or so) sounds gruelling and by the looks/sounds of it, it was. Not much you could do about the MEL-SYD sector - just have to take what's offered. Your "enhanced" coke was well deserved! [Edit, you're very well recognised down under!]
Happy mothers Day to all - especially your better half Noel - for going along with all your crazy schemes!
as an aviation services student, I just get chills when I see how unfriendly the ground stewardess at JFK is.
That aside, what an amazing video!!

@@stevenneill6605 unions have nothing to do with that.
There is a Southwest pilot that has a TH-cam channel and he frequently flies the PHX-HNL route. His channel is flyingwithbigern. I thought of him when I saw your path. I also grew up in Phoenix and Sky Harbor was my home airport for half my life. Love SWA, too! Really enjoyed the marathon you just went on! Cheers!
Lol acropolis means High Hill the building is the Parthenon and up close it’s very impressive. Yes I’m Greek and my grandparents taught me Greek history lol 😊
Great journey well done!!!!!! Enjoyed the video.
