@kevinhwangjr gets straight to the point and his video instruction is perfect for reference at the driving range. I love watching a lesson, practicing it for a few shots, and then rewatching as needed without taking long breaks during my practice.
Had an opportunity to try this with one of my hybrids which I “hit” rather well … i followed your advice including lifting left heel with shoulder to shoulder tempo … and what a difference … didn’t even know I was capable of being rhythmic - so much easier and more effective. Many thanks!
A swing thought I use to avoid the hit motion is to imagine my arms and club as a whip and I'm trying to "whip" the ball to send it to the target. A over-the-top move move with a whip would send the ball low-left into the ground which tells my brain its not a good swing. The whip swing thought really helps with my over-the-top tendency.
Excellent drill, when I plant my left foot should I throw the club or throw a Frisbee? One is done with the right and the other with the left hand for the right hand player. Which of the two is the correct feeling?
I think the general views is that you should be dominant with the leading arm but use both, so this is a pulling feeling but also a throw but not to flip the club keep the trail elbow close to torso. It does look like he is using a throw in the drill so a good question to raise.
Hey Kevin. I've just recently picked up the game of golf. I've been watching your videos and others but one thing that is not clear to me is the swing difference between irons, hybrids and the driver. Could you explain in a upcoming video? Thanks Denis
Hey Kevin, I've been following your channel for some time now. With that, can you help me understand the +/- yds differential that is displayed on your simulator screen? Thanks!
it represents plus or minus the ball will go left or right, however I do want to say it's not too accurate in my videos because I do not create a new lesson page before I record my lesson video so after 10 of my clients hit around 500 total shots the +- will not be accurate in my other videos
Question. I'm 65, 5'8". I swing hard and regular shafts are always a slice. What stiffness of shaft and length should I look at to customize my driver for longer distance?
@@mikeevans7331his point is, anyone who knows how to swing can hit a draw with a ladies flex shaft. His point is not wrong, if you are slicing any shaft, it's your technique, not the shaft
@stevenc9207 I appreciate your comment. Being not wrong isn't being right ...if I want to draw...that's a stance/swing change...I don't want to change my swing to hit it straight because I can already...lol. Same swing...stiff shaft straight...Flex shaft slice. I shouldn't have to change my swing. What I'm asking is length and stiffness (stiff/extra stiff? If length is increased does stiffness increase?)
Probably both then. Stomp heel, push forward. This video in particular feels like its the stomp to get the weight shifting and hence load for power. Cmiiw
@@garithsmith1798 hello I would love to help! However I would have to see you golf swing first before I can make any promises. Let me know if you would like some help I do provide online lessons👍🏼
im 63 and can hit it 260-270 when i hit it right - and im a weakling . this guy seems to know what hes talking about so definitely listen to him. if u ask me i would get those speed sticks and a relatively cheap swing speed radar from amazon and do those up the wazoo. you want to get your swing speed up in the high 90s to consider hitting 250 yd drives assuming you have decent driver. become an expert on swing speed /drills.. beat balls on the range as hard as you can till the cows come home. stretch / do yoga. get flexible. lift. get two iphones and a net in your yard and take dtl and face on slow mos very often and force yourself to look at youself. set goals. measure progress. you can do it but it takes dedication and time. it looks easy to do when pros do it but looks are very deceiving. oh yeah and dont get hurt! do it gradually. it takes time theres no magic. tips help but hard work is key.
Good technique and instruction for sure but also know that a professionals clubs shaft grip everything has been optimized to the nth degree for their swing. Just their driver shaft cost more than your whole set.
thanks Kevin for being so generous to share clearly the secret of effortless golf swing to hit further.
forever grateful
thank you for watching!
Had my first lesson with Kevin. He's a brilliant teacher!
looking forward to our next lesson!

I will try it at my next range session. Thanks for the tips.

This is great. My coach stresses tempo & smoothness
Your coach doesn’t want you here
@@jimmollica7618 this swing is smooth & not edgy. Great tempo
No problems. I’m not doing what he does except to try & be smooth as possible
excellent mentor!
Interesting. I’ll give that a go.
I am just too new a golfer to get my speed so smooth. Definitely gonna see what you think with your free assessment.
Good tips on tempo
Love it
Great tempo drills tips
Long driver and coach here,.. thx bud 😊
If you need a tester, lmk.
Also theres a LD chariety event in nc in nov 1st week foreu golf

Can you share with your viewers how the hand and wrist work through impact? is it necessary to rotate the wrist ?

Changing your shaft won't stop you slicing.
@@alanpotter3146 ..actually, the more flex in the shaft the more the ball goes right
Bring club more inside closer to your body on downswing, square club face at contact. Kee ball teed up one club head insise lead heel.

How long a driver should I use given a height of 5'7" in order to hit 326 yards?
I would suggest a standard length, if you need a shorter club I will seek a professional fitter but a standard length will do!
I’m confused ?
In 1 video he says to push right foot fwd in downswing, in this video it’s right foot back ?
Which is it ???

What about us seniors @75plus 🤨
Hi , great drills. Though how does this go with the lead wrist/ forearm rotation , I thought that was the main speed accelerator
Thanks.
we still have to get into a good position to throw the club just like a frisbee throwing motion!

why ball goes too much right
a lot of hand flipping from ams will cured unknowingly if they do it.
I'm noticing that I swing very slow with my trail arm even without any club in my hand. I need to practice to get some more speed into that arm
