That was incredible how you compared the smooth proper sequence to a much more violent swing that looked more powerful yet produced 50 yards less. The right way vs wrong way is the most convincing demonstration I’ve ever seen because you can do both masterfully. Seeing is believing. Brilliant idea.

Love the one arm swing and dance routine. Plus the last tip about leading with the lat rather than throwing from the top. Currently trying to keep back to the target longer which is helping.
Okay, you've blown my mind on this one. I'm a terrible golfer and I do exactly what you're saying for the exact reasons you gave. My 7 iron goes about 135 yards when I actually hit it okay. Next time I golf I will focus on not opening up until my arms force me to. This lines up with a feel that I recently watched from a pro golfer (forgot who) where they try to feel like their back is to the target for as long as possible on the downswing. Their back isn't actually aimed at the target as they get close to impact, but it feels that way. This will be the next focus in my perpetually failing effort to hit a decent golf shot. I'm so bad that I don't even care about hitting a 7 iron more than 135 yards right now. I would be thrilled if I hit it 135 yards 75% of the time.
@@dry509 It's probably good if you assume I am worse than you and I assume you are worse than me. That will make us both feel better that somewhere out there is someone worse than us :-)
Kevin, You have a really effective way of explaining and showing what you mean. I'm enjoying your instruction and I'm practicing with my left arm and left side dominant. I'm forced to right now because I had an artificial shoulder implanted on my right side. I can't wait to start hitting golf balls in a couple more months. I'll continue subscribing and watching your instruction.
another great video.could you make one talking about using the ground and exactly when to do it or do you think it is a reaction to good sequence and will happen naturally?
I heard this advice on another golfer's channel and it opened my eyes. The golf coach played and replayed on a loop Tiger's swing on the range. He was hitting balls with a six-iron. The coach tells his TH-cam audience to get up from their couch and simply mimic Tiger Woods' swing WITHOUT A CLUB at the SAME EXACT speed that Tiger does. No problem. Next, the coach tells you to swing a dowel rod as if it were an iron at the same speed that Tiger swings his six-iron. Next, grab a six-iron. You will soon notice how unbelievably fast Tiger's actual swing is. You can try to do the same with Kevin's swing. The back swing may be slow, but Kevin's through swing is unbelievably fast. If you indeed do this, BE CAREFUL not to hurt yourself. That's why you want to go from arms only, to a dowel rod (a club shaft without the clubhead), to an iron. Next, watch a DeChambeau video. Try to swing a driver at the same speed he does. Have a paramedic nearby.
@@daveparsons7756 It was several months ago when I came across his video. It was a male coach, soft spoken like the guy from Be Better Golf, but I can't seem to remember who it was. The advice was priceless, though.
I think golf is counter intuitive. Kevin is able to square the club face precisely because he is supinating the lead forearm into impact (to square) combined with body rotation. He arrives at last delivery set up for success. His club head is in alignment with his spine angle, his trail wrist remains set, he has retained the pronation in his lead forearm and he has rotated his lower body into a powerful squat position with 80% of his weight on his lead side. His trail arm is still partly folded, ready to extend / release through impact. Kevin uses his lead hip to leaver his shoulders and arms down into the back of the ball from last parallel. With his hips opening onto the target it leavers the left forearm to supinate back to square from the last parallel position. Myles
what is your loft on your 7 iron to be able to hit it that far ? nice swing btw ... im aiming for this effortless swing because i know im wasting power by trying to get it too fast
So in reference to your last tip…..you are pulling through with your legs and lead side….NOT trying to hit hard with your trail hand. Is this correct? Thank you👍🏻
@@daveparsons7756 yes never pull with your hands independently in transition! Once we get to around halfway down you can use your trail side if you want 👍🏼👍🏼
I will t?y my best getting this fantastic results. Would be great if you could show clubhead speed as well. Then I know if I'm on the right track without hitting the ball perfect. So what speed did you have hitting the 7i 200 yards?
@@hiddenbunny7205 will do if that helps but I want people to notice that a effortless golf swing will create speed and distance but sometimes with the speed being on the screen people will tend to say I hit the ball far because of my speed and that’s not something a amateur golfer can do and totally forget about the actual lesson. Great channel and content but a general query: *what kind of irons are you using?*
How do you square the face consistently when supinate the release? It is hard for me to time it.
