    I have a 2011 Silverado LT and mine did come with the menu selection buttons. I’m not sure if they just included it in later years. Also you definitely color match your gray interior trim pieces on the doors and steering wheel and cluster. I did it to mine and it made the inside sooo much better and appealing

    • @cbro6535
      @cbro6535 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They offered them in higher trim levels most of the WT, LS, and LT models didn’t have that option. Plus if you have an LT trim it might have been special ordered with the select buttons. My 2010 does not offer them (unless I ordered the buttons and trim piece off Amazon or something) but the 2013 Chevy I have does it’s strange lol

  • @larrydeaton5452

    The dash looks great. I put the driver information center buttons on my 13 Silverado. Took literally about two minutes. I went with a pioneer full touch screen with Apple CarPlay. I also added steering wheel controls to control it. I installed leather seats and painted all the trim that was silver, the body color. It’s subtle but adds a nice touch. I wish I could send you some pics.

    • @LonestarHawaiian
      @LonestarHawaiian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds amazing - where'd you pick up your leather seats from? Did you have them covered, or buy whole new seats?

    • @larrydeaton5452
      @larrydeaton5452 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought the new leather cover from a local installer. They carry mostly Katzkin leather. I removed the original cloth and installed the leather covers myself. I have done 5 sets on my own vehicles. Check on eBay, his store is Touchups in Jonesboro Arkansas.

    Enjoying the videos keep them coming. I also have the 07NBS LT and a 21 GMC AT4 Carbon Pro. So we are both basically doing a lot of the same upgrades. My 07 LT came with the menu instrument toggles. So no replacement needed there. I dread doing my complete dashboard replacement tho 😬. Cant wait to see what touch screen radio you went with. I definitely want to replace mine with one that has all the bells and whistles. Reads all your trucks codes, tells u when the doors are open, Apple car play maybe play a dvd for the kids. 🤙🏼

    Want to help protect that new dash for many years to come? Two years ago, I put ceramic tint on the windows of my new truck, including a very light (85%) tint on my windshield. Ceramic tint blocks most of the UV rays from entering the cab and I can attest that it is 100% effective. The interior of my truck is much cooler in the hot summer months and I have not had to wash the inside of my windshield to clean the off-gases from the dash. Seriously, there is not 1 hint of haze from off-gassing in the two years I have owned the truck. Ceramic tint will be on every vehicle of mine from this day forward.

    It’s kinda funny how I have relatively the same trucks as you. I have an older truck like your dads 99 Silverado but mine is maroon and it’s a 2000. I have 2 of the 07-13 body style trucks so it’s kinda funny how we have similar trucks lol although the dashes in my 07-13 were not that rough. I had no idea they could be that bad 😬

    You can also put a steering wheel in from a denali or escalade to uprgrade it to a wheel that has a heated option and wheel controls for volume n what not. Nothing to replace it all plug play for all year models including clusters. From 07' to 13' years everything interchangeable from silverados to sierras to escalades from the trucks to suv's!

    Hey I am a fan of your channel. I have watched for a long time. I really enjoy your videos. I like that you do your own work. I am also a professional paint correction specialist and detailer. I noticed when you installed your dash you were worried about the slight color difference. You said you were going to put Armor All on it. Please do not. I have nothing against Armor All as a company. But there interior products excluding there glass cleaner does more damage than good. Their interior shine products will dry out your brand new dash. I am not going to tell you what to do with your own property. But if you want a long lasting non greasy shine or original look with protection there are so many companies that produce amazing products. Anything non silicone based will make a world of difference. If you would like recommendations I would be happy to give you some. But that was not the purpose of this message. I just don't want to see that beautiful new dash get destroyed.

    • @LonestarHawaiian
      @LonestarHawaiian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love this. Learning as I go, and if I don’t see comments like this I miss out on opportunities. Any recommendations on interior product you enjoy using?

    • @danieltetradis761
      @danieltetradis761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay. I have an 18 month old daughter who is a bit of a handful. The easy answer would be Meguires natural shine interior cleaner and protectant, or 303 aerospace protectant ultimate uv protectant. Those are probably the easiest to get and cheapest route. There are more expensive ones that can give you any result you are looking for. But it really all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are looking for a professional looking finish its more of a process than a product. But if you ever have any questions feel free to ask. I would be happy to help you out.
