You, my friend, are truly a life saver. I was going absolutely crazy, trying to figure out what that noise was. I sprayed a whole can of WD-40 in every crack and crevice I could find, I’ve hit my dashboard probably 20 times until I was afraid I was going to accidentally set off my airbags and all I needed to do was tighten a couple of things I didn’t even know existed. Thank you so much.
Actually my noise slowly started coming back and within a week it was back just as loud as before… I actually needed struts and new front tires along with an alignment and told the mechanic about the noise. I know when I did everything this video suggested it DID help, however my problem was much bigger and much more expensive, lol. But the best way I can explain how it sounded was just a constant squeaking when I hit the tiniest of bumps and sometimes when I was even driving on a smooth road… it sounded like a loud mouse 🐭 behind my glove box
THANK YOUUUUU!!!!! 2012 RX 350 (Japanese version) here. She is VERY QUIET when its warm but starts to squeeq in colder temps. This video inspired me to look OUTSIDE of the car (inside she is TIGHTLY held, but I thought the noise was coming from the dash). As it turns out, she was squeeqing from the outside and the noise was seeping through. It was the plastic/rubber moulding next to the wiper blades. What I did was put some lube and I THINK IT'S FIXED!!!!! Will be able to confirm after a week as the squeeqs were based on temps and humidity. However, I am CONFIDENT it is fixed. The noise was driving me CRAZY as she is such a PERFECT gal.
Genius, you are! My 2011 Silverado that i bought recently was doing this and driving me nuts. I tightened all of the hinge bolts and problem solved. Thank you very much for the info!
This is the only video I’ve been able to find that has the right sound. Quick look and my bolt is a bit deeper, going to try in a little bit. Really hoping this is what it is
Is there a rubber bumper piece that is supposed to be there? I did some compressed air cleaning of my engine bay, and I found a piece of hard rubber that looked like It blew out from somewhere, but where? And now I have a similar sound.
I have the exact same sound in my Audi A5, and the most annouing thing about it is that is doing when cruising at low speed and small bumps on the road. I will try and do this tomorrow to see if it will get it fixed, as i am in the UK mu car is making those sounds on the RHS and it seams that is coming from the base of the pillar
My 2001 Durango is doing it and funny, it didn't start until I adjusted the hood latch to keep it from bouncing while driving. I'll check that hinge this evening. Thanks 👍
Hey, I’m having a very similar issue with my Subaru outback 2023. Took it to the dealership but they couldn’t replicate the noise. Very frustrating. Will check this area out of the hood hopefully that’s what’s causing the issue
I had the same exact sound on my car. I went to my mechanic to have it checked. Turns out my shock mounting is damaged. Replaced it and now no more squeaky sound! Mine might vary to yours but hope this helps.
i had the exact same noise and it turned out to be my spare tire was not secured in place. i tighened the screw/nut with my hand and wala that noise is now gone. i still here a rattling sound in the front right side of my cabin, sounds like it could be pretty much anything/everything (dash, glove, air vents, door who knows lol). i have a 2016 RDX. The squeaking was much worse than the rattle so I'm glad that's gone, I just wish the cabin was silent like it was when i first bought it.
I did the very thing he suggested without resolution. I continued to seek to resolve the squeak and it turned out to be the bolt that holds the Parking Brake Pedal to the body frame. The bolt is located behind the kick panel immediately next to the Parking Brake. You have to pull the driver's door weather stripping and the kick panel behind the parking brake to access the bolt holding the parking brake assembly to the body. The kick panel is held in place by the weather stripping and a lone press-in attachment clip near the rear portion of the panel. Follow the Parking Brake Assembly structure to locate the bolt behind the panel. I retorqued the bolt, which was not to spec, to 25-30 psi, I reassembled the weather striping to finish to job. I may have torqued it higher, by feel, but the result was accomplished... No more Squeak. Good Luck if you still seek a resolution! All conditions are different and may differ from advise read here.
Another video said it’s the windshield wiper linkage and you gotta grease it that worked for me I’ll check this too just to make sure it never comes back ever again made me hate the truck
Yes weird after having new tires put on my 2009 ford f 150 I have passenger side rattle ,definitely wasn't there on way to tire shop,or ever with old tires on
Thanks for the video man it helped me alot same problem I had both sides thinking it's my dashboard trying and trying different thing's going crazy with the noise while driving lol
If it didn’t work you have to tighten the hood latch. Eventually my noise came back. What fixed it was tightening the hood latch. I made another video on it as well. Click on the about section of the video below and check it out that fixed it for sure
As soon as I heard it I was like that's my noise, but at the passenger dash/front tire. Please let it be something I can get fixed since TWO different mechanic shops couldn't figure it out after multiple things being replaced. Annoying thing is that they didn't know and didn't really hear what I heard even after recording the dang noise. Shouldn't they have realized something needs to be tightened if that's what's wrong? I deliver mail constantly pulling to the right and one of those pulls or pothole filled driveways always sets it off and it is so loud. Also annoying to use my one day off taking my vehicle to get worked on every week. Going to watch the video now with fingers crossed.
ohhh my god i am having this issue i mean nobody has address this in a video thank god i found urs. im going insane and i took it to the dealer and they have no fucking clue like bro this is ur brand of car and u dont even know ur own car noises

I did end up tightening the hood hinge. That helped it permanently
Does yours sound like a 2 plastic pieces rubbing with each other? Creaking sound

My dude... I was about to make a 20 hour road trip and my wife's wagoneer was doing the same thing... THANK YOU!

Rubber and plastic wear down after 13 years even if they are made in Japan 🤣🤣🤣

My versa note just started doing this😭😭
My 2015 note rattles like crazy. Did this work for you?
I had 13 Tacoma with a squeak somewhere in the front end and I fixed it by greasing the hood latch. It sounded like it was coming from the fender.
I get almost this exact sound on a 1994 bronco. Thanks for making this!
Thanks for the video man it helped me alot same problem I had both sides thinking it's my dashboard trying and trying different thing's going crazy with the noise while driving lol
