  • In this video, I review the Jeep Wrangler JKU rough country 3.5" lift.
    This lift is not anything fancy what so ever.
    Here is the direct link.

    I highly suggest this kit. I absolutely love it, with the few exceptions that are mentioned in the video.

    I'm looking forward to the future build videos! I've had good luck so far with the ZJ 3.5 inch lift despite some negative reviews, glad to hear that they're decent on other rigs too!

      I am very happy with it. Rough country gets so much crap for being "cheap."

    Great review you did use the track bar bracket and drop pitman arm correct?? Have guys telling me not to use them to leave it stock n get adjustabile track bar ,but I think I’ll just use all of kit for now ,maybe upgraded pieceies in future I’m no hardcore crawler just occasional Weeknd fun ect n by your review should all be solid for now

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the track bar bracket yes. But I did not use the dropped pitman arm. I actually did the drag link flip instead. The kit where it flips the drag link to the top side of the steering knuckle instead of the bottom. I didn't have any issues with any of that set up. Used the stock track bar until I swapped to one ton axles this winter.

    I have the same Jeep and color. I bought mine with a 3.5 " lift but not sure the brand. The springs are black and the shocks are white with a white stripe along the length.
    The issue I have are the shocks are not good so looking at Bilstien or Fox. Did you do a gear swap in the axels with lift or kept stock?
    I feel a little under powered with the stock so might to 4:88 or 5:13 gear ratio.
    I have the RC tube fenders which gave me a few extra inches of clearance.
    Great build so far can't wait to see more.

      I have not re-geared my jeep. On the 35s, it seems plenty fine. I even just stepped to 37s. Honestly, I don't drive my jeep like a race car. I drive it like a jeep. I know it's supposed to be slower to accelerate and I slow down for corners. I honestly don't really notice all that much. I accelerate fine with most other cars on the road and I hold 75 on the freeway easily.

    I have a upgraded tie rod bar you can have if you want . I upgraded from that and I went even bigger and went to the 1 3/4 rock krawler pro aluminum one to handle the abuse .my other is one is perfect .never really used it .It’s just sitting around if you want it .

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless it's aluminum, it will probably be the same as the one I just got. Haha

      @@4WDTrek it’s heavy duty and if you know anyone that wants it they can have . or a spare . it’s basically brand new . If I bend or break my aluminum one they will replace for free so no need for it now .

    I have the same lift kit on my 2015 jku and my jeep sometimes has death wobble, so idk what to replace to fix it.

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be a number of things. Ball joints, steering components, an alightment, wheel bearings, or even uneven tire pressures.

    Did you do anything with the stock driveshaft or had that already been replaced with aftermarket?

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I kept the stock drive shaft for almost the whole two years. I did end up breaking the CV section off the front drive shaft after about a year and a half of it. Replaced it with another stock one for about 6 months til I was able to get a new drive shaft for it.

    I have the same kit on my jeep and I got it installed about a month ago and it seems like it has dropped about half an inch or an inch, do you have this same problem

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The suspension will settle after installation. When I installed my lift, it sat about 4 inches higher. It settled the half an inch.

  • @maginusjames8859

    I have that on mine and the only thing that bugs me is it wobbles side to side far too much for me when I went to Sand Hollow in Utah and did some rock crawling.

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What part is wobbling side to side? Sounds like maybe an alignment or some warn ball joints or wheel hubs
