    The dad immediately popping up and offering to buy his son's neighbor a new mat rather than let his son resolve it proves his dad has probably been covering for him since he was little.

      Plaintiff dad still does for his adult son, instead letting the man settle his own adult issues. Sad dad will always do this and not let son become a man and be an adult.

    12:20 As outrageous as those quotes sound it's becoming the norm! I got a bid a few months back to have my bathroom remodeled. We were supplying the new shower tube, vanity, and plumbing materials. Basically, we wanted the demo of the old cast iron tube, the surround, and removing the toilet just in case we decided to put down a new floor. He quoted us 8K for the work. The bathroom is 5' X 7' nothing special about it. The contractor quoted us $1,3000.00 to remove the cast iron tube and, a $170.00 dump fee. He charged us $270.00 for a vapor barrier (which is a piece of Visqueen on the front door of the bathroom), and he quoted us $2,200.00 for the plumbing trim. For all you who don't know that consists of installing all your plumbing fixtures, which would only be a shower. Basically every step on the demo we were charged an additional $170.00 dump fee. The rest of the bid was crazy! So, $25.00 to replace outlet covers is not a strange number. I know people who will not touch anything electrical and would pay someone to come to their home and replace an outlet cover. I would do it for $25.00
    FYI I have the ability and resources to do the work myself, but didn't have the time. After that bid, I made time, and the whole thing from start to finish cost me $5K.

      How the judge arbitrarily decides what's reasonable and what isn't is mind-blowing. If the plaintiff has issues with the costs, it's up to them to provide evidence that the prices were bloated by maybe submitting estimates done by other companies.

    • @34stzoo
      @34stzoo 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marys4565 Yeah, it's crazy what they're charging for simple work. I work building maintenance for a high-rise office building. Part of my job is to get bids for projects. At times I can't see it, I can't justify the cost. It's crazy what these contractors are charging and it's not even my money at stake. Not everyone has the skills or tools to take care of home issues. I repaired my drier, washer, and oven at least three times which saved me thousands of dollars on replacement and repairs. The only way we can stop it is not to call them.

    The apt manger is not too swift, because he should KNOW that as a mgr. you ALWAYS photograph the apartment BEFORE the tenant moves in. Then, when they move out you photo it AFTER, so you have BEFORE and AFTER photos as a record. So much time is wasted here on something that could been avoided had he taken both sets of photos. It would have made his case so much easier.

    This is what happens, ladies and gentlemen, when you don't make your children take accountability themselves. You end up with a 28 year old man child.

      Probably not, but she is smart enough to research things before these cases and know the value of the things that she rules on. Anybody with common sense know it doesn't cost $350 to dispose of some old junky furniture. You break it down & toss it in the back of a pick-up truck & drop it at the dump, where they charge by the pound. A pick-up full of wood costs less than $20 in dump fees.

      @aerotaken5357 I love how u speak for all..I had a double hand amputation do I get to charge by the hr or pound to break down someone else's trash smh shits not free and not everyone is capable, nor should we have to be if she did what she ×as supposed there wouldn't be 350$ to tlk about in the 1stplace ..she's talking out her ass n so r u

      @alyssahamlett Yes, she should have taken care of her business. But he was inflating things, trying to make it punitive so he wouldn't have to give her money back, and the judge knew it. Both of them can be in the wrong and both deal with the consequences.

      @@aerotaken5357 she’s often wrong. She used GameStop trade in prices for stolen games value and they notoriously undervalue everything and have a high mark up for maximum profit.
      Selling directly you’d get more. But she’s an idiot and finds games stupid so doesn’t care and the guy got ripped off coming on the show for his issue.

    Why does the judge say i know the price because of family coming from construction? Those prices sound okay and fair. If you want cheaper, do it yourself or get someone that you will end up in court for a bad job. Small jobs are more expensive because they're not worth it for people to do. One hour job no one does it so they need to do minimum four hours.

    The father is doing the son no favors by cleaning up his messes for him. The son is a Man-child & very juvenile & I suspect will never grow into a responsible man. Any woman who ankers herself to this loser will soon enough find herself playing the role of a mother rather than a partner or wife. As for the defendant, 800.00 was a perfect decision by the judge as we all know that his estimates for repairs to the unit were greatly inflated. No one seems to possess integrity or honor anymore & that is truly sad.

    I feel like she was overly hard on the defendant. The plaintiff (son) seems like he was an obnoxious tenant who behaved (and treated the apartment) like a child. Let the defendant inflate the prices a little to teach the plaintiff a lesson. All she did was show the plaintiff he can get away with acting like that. Poor judgement.

    At 28 he has to have somebody hold his hand. That blank stare is not because of glasses. How entitled he is. He should be embarrassed. The defendant also should be ashamed for trying to rip them off.
