China is a great place to travel. Highly developed even in the small cities, cheap, great transit, amazing food, and clean pretty much everywhere in 2024. Hope you can come back to China and spend more time there

I used to live in Shanghai and there's a few ways to cross the river. The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel (overrated, don't do it), ferry for 2 yuan (fun when it's not cold) or 1 stop on the metro (easiest and fastest). Changing lines on the metro is extremely easy, just follow the signs. Shanghai metro is the best in the world. Enjoy!
yeah, I eventually manged to cross the river, but changin the lines in the metro is still a mystery to me :D i thought I got it, I followed the sighns to the other line and suddelny I was out of the metro system and had to buy a new ticket :D

The maglev train doesn't go to all the way to the center, you have to transfer to metro. But it seriously shortens the trip. But get the AlliPay app beforehand to buy the metro ticket

yes, I know now :) I tried WeChat first, but I couldn't bind it to my card, but Alipay made my life so much easier :) It is actually amazing how you can go to the smallest little shop and still be able to pay cashless... )
well, the it is a lot more colourful that everyone shows it... and very clean and people are quite helpful even though they spoke very little english, it wasn't dificult to get by on the most basic level :) and also that my european debit card was next to useless :D
I would recom'd somewhere in southern part of china such as li jiang in yunnan province or guilin in guangxi province but the prerequisite would be you need to know some chinese coz these places are not very international you know what i meant@@LexUniverse

There is direct maglev train to Shanghai ? Did to transfer to metro train ?
The maglev train doesn't go to all the way to the center, you have to transfer to metro. But it seriously shortens the trip.

很多老外的第一站都是上海,上海很好,可是中国还有更多更有特色的城市或地方,比如杭州,四川,呼伦贝尔,西藏,义乌,云南大理等等,这些地方相比上海来说,上海只是个巨大的现代化都市,并没有什么可玩性。
上海很适合当老外来华的第一站,有传统的也有现代的,好似欧洲的伦敦巴黎,中国太大了,不好好规划行程会很容易花费太多时间
