The first album I ever bought back in the late sixties as a kid in a grocery store was three dog night greatest hits. They were great musicians. Takes me back.
Allison Young I do t rightly remember. I don’t think so. I do remember it was a kinda dark rust color and had a picture of the band on the cover. I kept it for years but lost it somewhere along the way!
I Google it for you guys..."Shamballa has significant meaning in Tibetan Buddhist and Indian Buddhist traditions. Shamballa (also spelled Shambala or Shambhala) is a mythical kingdom hidden somewhere in Inner Asia, beyond the hills of the Himalayas. It is mentioned in ancient texts, many of which pre-date Tibetan Buddhism in western Tibet. Shamballa gradually came to mean and be associated with a Buddhist Pure Land, a fabulous kingdom whose reality is visionary or spiritual as much as physical or geographic. It was in this form that the Shamballa myth reached the West, where it influenced non-Buddhist as well as Buddhist spiritual seekers - and, to some extent, popular culture in general. In Western culture Shamballa is now associated not with a physical place but as a metaphor for the spiritual path one might follow. This path is the path to enlightenment, peace, tranquility, mindfulness and oneness."
No its not, its a city that comes to earth only when darkness and demons (basically the amergeddon) happens so that the Shambhala warriors defend earth
I saw this band in concert in the 1970's. Great band at the time. Still great songs.......... :-) Take care of yourselves........... :-) You guys are so cute.....
Big Collars (you meant Lapels) and Flares ( bell bottom jeans) defined the 70's. 3-dog Night also defined the 70's. I think they still hold the record for most consecutive hits in the top 10 or something.
I think you’re both awesome and I wish I could understand WTF you’re saying 😝 “Shambala” is nirvana, the promised land, our final peaceful destination. Not a specific place. It’s a hippie place. Off topic, TDN was the first band I ever saw, out in the middle of Iowa in say 1973. They’d just had their monster hit “Joy to the World” and everybody loved them. The road to the fairgrounds was backed up for miles. I still binge on them sometimes. If you cover their music, don’t forget to react to “Pieces of April, “ which I think is kind of underrated.
B.W. Stevenson released his version of Shambala first and was on it's way to be a hit until Three Dog Night stole it and left Stevenson's version in the dirt. Also listen to any version of this song (original LP or 45 single) and it's either mono or crappy reprocessed mono complete with some kind of phasing in it. The only stereo version of this song is through DES
