Three Dog Night had a string of cool hits in the 70s; check out "Shambala", "One" (which was written by Harry Nilsson, whose name you might've heard around), "Never Been to Spain", and "Old Fashioned Love Song".

You are right that they had a number of singles I saw them a number of times live, and they were always the warm up band to the headliners at festivals, as I recall, so because they had less time to play, they just fired about 7 or 8 hits at everyone, and the crowd loved them.

Overlooked was that absolutely incredible 4-piece band that worked behind them and contributed the instrumental arrangements. Three Dog Night certainly had many great performances in their time and they have stood the test of time.
