Thank you, just moved into a new place and the pressure was incredibly low. Turns out the filter was filled with plastic pieces that looked clogged. But wouldn't have thought to look there unless this video. Awesome saved us $50.
I removed that piece and my low pressure was fixed but it nearly blew my flesh off so I soaked it in white vinegar, brushed it off, reinstalled it and it works well now. Thanks!
Mine didn’t have an O-Ring, BUT it had loads of sediment mashed against the mesh inside. Cleaned out with a metal pick and used porcelain cleaner to dissolve any leftover stuff. Slapped it back on and BAM! HIGH PRESSURE BABY!
This worked like a champ but when reinstalling I noticed what looked like a coating that manufacturers spray on pipes had leaked over and formed a "dam" blocking half the pipe. I removed this and reinstalled and the pressure is amazing. Thanks.
@@pyroshayniac1090 aww yay!! I love comments like these!! I hope you subscribed, because I have a lot more of these homeowner videos! Also feel free to drop any video requests for the future :)
Done this.. Works great. You don't need to turn on the water very high so you control how much water pressure you need for the job like when you need to rinse long hair. Conserve that way but have an effective shower head.
I just took out the entire green restrictor ..and what I mean by that is ...I completely destroyed it ... I drove the head of my screw screwdriver through the center of it cause the needle-nose weren't working ... wish I had just took out the black ring first to see what the difference would be .....but the shower works great now ..thanks for the vid =)

Absolutely! Unfortunately with many single handle shower valves, you can only control temperature, not flow. In my case, that’s how it works.
Aaron Fixes Stuff oohs darn.. These new houses lol. Well you don't want to do this to a shower in a teenagers bathroom 😳
Omg I can’t believe this worked!!! Thank you so much!!

Anyone had one where shower pressure goes low then high then low again...ad infinitum?
What is the purpose of black ring?
It helps restrict the water flow (gpm).

thout u where gunna take the flow restricter out
That’s what that was :)
I only have low water pressure for hot water.
It sounds like it might be an issue with the valve. This solution will not work for you unfortunately.
Doesn't work folks
Wrong. Worked a treat! 😅
That indicates the issue is not with the shower head.
