A brief bonus episode going over statements on the Character design of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from developer interviews.
Legendary Adventures is a Legend of Zelda playthrough podcast. I’m exploring the evolution of the Zelda game series by playing through each game in release order, excluding spin-offs and multi-player focused releases.

MM was really the best kind of sequel in respect to the character designs from OOT. The side quests allowed a lot of these neat designs to get more screen time

I’m in the same boat. I didn’t watch Twin Peaks until 2020 and it became my favorite TV show. I played OoT as a toddler and it was my favorite video game.
      Crazy how that works huh?

I love your videos but I do have a couple suggestions for your audio design. I primarily listen on a phone and it's often difficult to hear your voice over the music, and also your vocal inflection makes the loudest parts of your speech very easy to hear, but the quietest parts very difficult. I would recommend a couple of things to address this. The first is the use of a plugin called a compressor. When properly calibrated, a compressor will make the volume of your voice more even, without changing the way that it sounds. There's also a technique called audio ducking, that will allow your voice to be easily heard above the music without lowering the music volume. If you use audio ducking and a compressor on your voice, all of your mobile listeners will have a much easier time hearing all of your great videos!

I'm really enjoying this series and love these bonus episodes. Oot was such a big part of my childhood and I have found myself replaying roms and watching speed runs of it still to this day. I love learning more about what went into making this gem

I'm really glad to see someone doing this kind of thing. Years ago I had the idea of doing a Let's Play series covering all the main line Zelda games like you're doing and going into deep dives like this as well as I play them. The only big difference that since I played almost all of these games around the time they came out I wanted go try and give a prospective of what it was like to be playing it at the time I did compared to how it would feel to play them now. I also wanted to rate each game based on how good it was when it came out as well as how well I feel it still stands up against modern games.
Life however never game me the chance to pursue this dream but like I said at the start of this post, it's good to see some one doing something the same vain as my idea. It's nice to see how these games were shaped, not in some abstract over all way but level by level, how everything feed into each other.
If you happen to read this, any ideas about what you're going to cover after you're caught up on Zelda? For me it was going to be Silent Hill.

A neat gathering of interesting view points of OCarina's various creators, even if it felt a little like just recapping what other people already said. Miyamoto more being interested in putting the characters out there to be like... vibes, be impressions and archetypes that each person who looks at the game can then weave their own narrative from, sure does feel like a very Miyamoto-like opinion. I do wonder what he means by "since Link is a boy, I wnated more girls than Princess Zelda to show up". Maybe that he thought that Link being a boy meant that he should be mindful of having girls around to balance out the boy being a main character? Or was it just crude "waifu"-thinking? Who knows? I for one do approve of all the freaks that exists in Ocarina of Time- he is right that there being so many weird ones mixed in with the pretty ones make them stand out, indeed... make them perhaps the cutest of all.
