You should have included the fun you can have with Marin following you: if you go into the dried up well in town she'll fall on you, if you use the shovel she likes that, go into the trendy game and she gets you kicked out, if you attack a hen she doesn't like that, break a pot and she'll scold you, play the ocarina without knowing any songs and she'll be pretty judgmental, and in the color version you can get a cutscene with her on the ledge by the sea.
I remember getting a GameBoy Color for Christmas in 98 and the only game I wanted was Link's Awakening DX. I played the shit outta that game for 2 years! It was perfect for road trips. Then in 2000, I got Pokemon Crystal and fell into that pitfall for a couple of years. Then, in 2003, the GBA SP and ALttP port. Had to retire the GBC, the rechargeable battery and backlit screen were too good to pass up. Still, brings back a lot of memories.
in the German Version naming your character MOYSE (the chief of Nintendo Germany) also did give a unique song :) also the translation was.... funny to say the least. The Cactus Enemies said "give me your juice i give you mine" "never without condom" and "No War Give Peace a Chance" xD
Agree. Link’s Awakening is one of my favorite Zelda games to date. I won’t be the first or last to point out that a Yoshi doll is a reward in the claw game (part of the trading sequence), there are “Boo” ghosts in Bottle Grotto (2nd dungeon), and “Kirby” has a cameo in Eagles Tower (7th dungeon)!
Theirs also the bloopers the Squid like enemies from Super Mario bros they show up in the underwater parts of this games 4th dungeon Wart SMB 2 (the one based on Doki Doki Panic) makes a appearance in this game and is REQUIRED to talk to.
The bomb arrow thing was something I had to find out the hard way. I was stuck in the 8th dungeon forever as a kid and had to figure out how to bomb a wall over a lava pit. Discovered the bomb arrow combination after much tinkering.
@@triforcetimes the oracle series is my favorite. All the greatness from links awakening, but I really like the ring and secret systems. I've probly played through those games at least 100 times. Played them for 20 years and still play them.

5:50 Yeah, I imagine that we all learned of this one due to us trying to get into the game place there, and that stupid thing was close enough to get hit.
Great video. Thanks. If you play through the game without dying, Marin's wish will be granted and she will fly away with wings after the end. Her wish was to leave the island as a seagull and this is fulfilled after the credits, but only when the counter is at 000, i.e. 0 deaths.
Hi just wanted to say I like your videos as I love learning anything and everything about Zelda, and in particular I really like your thumbnails 👏🏼 They look great
The ballade of the wind fish makes another appearance in Majoria's mask. In the game once you have gotten the goron, zora, deku, and romani mask you can enter the bar. Once in the bar the leader of the indigo go band will be at the stage and will ask you to do a sound check with the goron, zora, and deku mask as well as link himself. Once you do all four sound checks the ballad of the wind fish will play and link will obtain the circus leaders mask.
I didn’t care as much for the switch version. The music style just didn’t fit to me. The graphics just didn’t capture the charm of the original, in my opinion
I thought of one, The Legend of Zelda, Link's Awakening that special edition for Nintendo Switch, comes with an Artbook and steel tin , in the shape of a Gameboy with an image on the tin of the original game. I have that. The colour dungeon is another one, to see if the player is playing on the Gameboy Colour.
For whatever reason even though I was able to beat a link to the past multiple times I've never beaten lynx Awakening. I don't know why it's just there were some parts in the game I always got really stuck at and didn't really know where I was going. Or didn't know how to pass these parts actually. Didn't understand how to solve these puzzles. I mean now that the Game Boy color version of Links Awakening is on switch online via the Game Boy catalog I have a good excuse to try to finish the game. I actually originally played it on the original Game Boy cartridge and somehow got my hands on that when it was after the Game Boy color cartridge had already come out.
It seems as though the producers of the 2019 game partially nerfed the Magic Boomerang because you can no longer 1 hit KO the final form of the Nightmare.
correct it takes like 5 to 6 Magic Boomerang/or ARROWS hits to kill it despite that the GX COLOR dungeon for the RED Tunic to double YOUR damage output IS still intact on the Switch version of the game.
With the file select name song, the name has to be fully capitalised as "ZELDA" to work- "Zelda" as shown in this video doesn't. Also, Marin and Totakeke don't play different music. Totakeke doesn't even fit there, Unless that's something they added in the Switch remake? And if we're gonna get specific, Marin and Tarin don't reference Malon and Talon- Malon and Talon reference *them*, since this game predates Ocarina of Time.
I had played the 3 prior Zelda games but since I didn't own them I was never able to wrap my head around how to play an adventure game as I preferred platformers and straightforward arcade style games. But I borrowed LA from a friend and really sunk time into to it and really started getting into it. I also made gratuitous use of the map glitch which helped with some of the confusion until later I vowed to beat the game proper without the glitch as a crutch. But yeah from there I'd started getting into Zelda game and got A Link to the Past that Christmas and my own copy of Link's Awakening a little later and the series has been my all time favorite since.
