The Saturable reactor ( which is the first load on your video ) was built to a forty Year old design by GE at Stafford and they wont be building another until that one needs replacing ... Great video btw 👍
What an absolutely awesome sight on the dual carriageway after they negotiated the tight bits in the town. Would have loved to put my Class 1 to use years ago in this field!!
Me too.........thirty eight years as a class one driver, and I always wanted to get on STGO work, but never got the opportunity even after applying to A.L.E , Allelys. wynns, Pickfords, and a couple of smaller operators over the years, never even got so much as a reply from most of them, and now I'm retired I doubt I ever will.
Somebody had the huge responsibility of planning the route for these loads. It certainly brought the crowds out in Polegate. The police should have cleared the town roads of parked cars to make things a bit easier.
The police are mainly tasked with enforcing theft from we the people by councils,courts banks and other private for profit companies. Moved many,many abnormal loads with out the need to involve in experienced, over priced not fit for task costumed clowns.
We absolutely loved watching this come through polegate and seeing ourselves several times throughout your video makes it even better, nice job 👏 👍 😀

The bridge over the railway line wasn’t believed strong enough to take the load.

And just think what we used to pull three hundred ton transformers out of BETs in Clayton road Hayes Middlesex in the sixties.
