- Enjoyed following these two huge 230ft long 300 tonne lorries which slugged 40 miles from Shoreham to Ninfield. Quite an achievement actually, especially with all the narrow tight turns and roundabouts to negotiate. The weight was perfectly spread and top marks to the drivers and all involved here.
Huge wide load? I thought it was going to be a video of my ex wife
Wth lol
your ex can't have been that big there's only two trucks pulling that load lol,
lmao
Loved the sign on the lane “unsuitable for heavy good vehicles” well done guys very professional.
We live in the area and it gets even tighter further down the lane.
What a sight! Well done!❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When it came round the first bend I was like woaaaahhh
Just saw one of these today crawling through London hauling an electrical generator. Certainly is an astonishing sight to see how it all moves in motion! 😎👍🏻
Impressive weight distribution for sure
Nice to see Bexhill and Ninfield on the map once in a while
Ah, yes. The generators for my castle!!! ;-) Great stuff, 10 mins into it... still watching. :-)
These were ya little back up ones right ;P
@@bobsurgranny Yes. Spot on!! ;-)
The driver in the lead truck was in a TV series 2 or 3 years ago on Sky called Train Truckers. It was about Alleyes hauling vintage steam & diesel locos around the UK
Top driver
Very impressive load ! Is that an electrical generator ? An-225 once delivered similar 117-tonne generator from Europe to Australia few years ago in 2016
I reckon so yes. Such a shame what happened to the Mriya
It's a transformer.
@@KeesAmf transformer in disguise
Bob, I am not from the UK and have never seen something shaped like this. What is this and what will it do?
@Janet Slicer The red framing you see is only to support the thing on its journey and distribute the weight,as for the cargo in the middle it looks to be some sort of electrical transformer not so sure on that but its typically transformer which are hauled like that. You can also see this sorta thing being done elsewhere around the world with the giant frames to carry massive loads.Hope this helps!!!
@@frankzilla4437 Thank you, I appreciate your response.
The transformers job is to convert the electrical current down from the high voltage used on long distance power lines to the level needed for local distribution.
One of the loads is a Saturable Reactor for a substation you will need to google it as it`s hard to explain what it does and the other one is a Transformer .
@@scammellman831 Thank you. You have all been very helpful! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
How do they co-ordinate the throttle between front and back?
Love the number plates T111AHH, T444AHH, T888AHH and T800AHH - didn't manage to catch the 5th one thou.
Real life Thunderbirds!
I’d like to know like everyone else. What this operation cost. I thought that it might have been a large scraper later on you could see that wasn’t right.
Might of cost a couple of quid less if the guys had tried unscrewing and removing the road furniture without destroying it all
Excellent Video👍 One trip' up, by them two idiots @2:51..Squash'
Cheers
Ah! My bitcoin mining machine finally arrived! Now where do you plug it in?
Amazing going round the corrner. Am puzzled though why the second load entered the town last when it was the first to go up the road to the site. If the other one had got there first then it wouldn't have had to do all that reversing.
Late change of plan
could of been they were loaded wrong way on the ship or the site workers decided we can do the other side quicker/easier... or a simple change of wind with something that heavy
Impressive weight Distribution looks like they were 2 axles short on both low beds which gives the road an extra 60 tonne to bear with against the road rules
Title reads 300 ton convoy suggesting that is the total weight including tractors and trailer. With 20 lines of axles the maximum weight of the trailer plus load in the UK would be 20x16.5=330tons at 2.06tons per wheel.
welll done Bob , strange how everything else gets smaller over the years - transformers seem to get bigger ?? love the MAN's .
They sure did a great job transporting that "thing" about
I think that is a part of a Substation
Some nice kit there
Sure is. The weight was balanced perfect and great job by the driver getting round that last turn
Wow, I never saw something like this
Me neither
That's gonna need a fair few 50 pence pieces to operate
Yep just a few
And when they got there the bloke said - "No I ordered 2 of them toy cars that turn into robots, bloody amazon"!!
And no Daffodils were damaged !!
I build the transformers and nothing like the feeling when they leave on these trucks
So to me they look slightly different, were these both transformers?
@@bobsurgranny
Transformers , Reactors of that size usually build in same factory, and they look very similar.
They would be 800MVA and 400kV
Thanks for that
Wow 👏👏👏👏
the lorry looks bigger than the load
Is this the one that caused chaos in Brighton I saw on the news?
Yeah
I think 200 tyres
160 on the trailer, 12 on each tractor plus a few spares.
and half the people watching this cant drive there car around a corner without using both sides the road
The MAN's are just for steering. It's the Deutz BF4M1013 at the back that is providing the drive 🤣
Impressive bit of kit. Perfectly balanced too
@steveb1739 Is that supposed to be a joke.?
Come back on your other left 😂😂😂😂
The number of people recording this in portrait has given me cancer
