It turned out great! Absolutely loved watching you and couldn't be more proud of your hard work! I look forward to all of your future videos! Ashley @ UG2SOAP
I completely agree! Her books are so knowledgeable. I had no idea that I was interested in the chemistry aspects of soaping and cosmetics until I started reading her stuff. 👍🏼
I know! It is go great to have a resource that goes beyond combining melted butters/oils and lye and making designs...although I am a sucker for designs LOL
I got a liquid soap making book a couple years ago for Christmas and I haven’t tried yet. Every so often I will look at it and get intimidated by it. Thanks for sharing this video because it’s given me some courage to try it in the near future!
Just found you! Ordered through your links below so you get credit. Thank you for the reminder about UG! I have three of the books...adore. Worth every penny, which isn't a lot when you consider a failed batch!
Thanks for watching! I'm sure you won't be sorry about purchasing that book - it is a doozy to read LOL. I had several failed batches before purchasing it. I have the hot process one as well which is very good, although it's just not for me. Good Luck!!🤗
Did u preheat the crockpot too? Be a good idea prob. I cook food and always heat my plates so the plate doesnt cool off my food. I found a paint stirrer but a shorty one. Has a different tip but fits into a drill. The stick is only 12" or so long. I think it might be good for stirring the super thick stages? When it starts getting tough for the stick blender, can use that instead?
Coconut oil acts very differently but in a good way? I read it makes the soap more clear and liquidy I think? I'm reading a book about liquid soaps, no expert but I did learn that it behaves different so u need to be aware of that. Suggest reading a book because watching a bunch of videos of different methods is confusing.
Hi! Good Question!! Technically no it does not need a preservative. But I do add one since I sell it. the pH is usually high enough though that nothing can grow.
I got this e-book right away lol & I wanted to ask which is the name of the recipe that you used. I'm not asking for you to post the recipe but to instead give me the name. I want to try making it as I watch your video😁
Hey Nina! Sorry for the delay - I needed to get my book out to see which one I used - it was the crystal clear orange sunflower 30-htls recipe. I hope it turns out for you! Let me know how it goes for you! I have a few more I want to give a go at and (if I can get to them LOL) I will be sure to say the name of the recipe in the videos!🤗
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique Great thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I'm very busy with nursing school lol. I did try one of the recipes but it turned out really bad. On the next day the soap was still very thin still and the water separated from the soap & so did the company. I used a mica as a company. I did forget to heat up the water before adding it to the soap so that could be one of the reasons. & I might have put way too much salt water😬..I desperately tried to make it thick but it didn't work. I should read the whole book since I only skimmed to it😅. But pretty much everything went wrong with this soap😅I also want to try the dish soap recipe that is all coconut oil but I don't wanna fail it😅
@@Nina-2311 Oh NO!!! I'm sorry that happened to you! That stinks. I'm making another couple of recipes from the book in the next few weeks, I'll probably tape them. I think the salt water may be the problem - I use crothix. It can be hard to find but it is the easiest and most fool proof thickener I have used. I made the charcoal one and it was so thick that it doesn't even need a thickener at all (shocking!). I failed several batches of liquid soaps when I first started. I know it is easier said than done, but try to chalk it up to learning and making you better... 🙂
Dear Mam, I appreciate your time and effort BUT, in my long long experience, I can tell that this soap you've made is missing a lot of things. You didn't let it cook enough before diluting, you start adding water before seeing the transparency phase, you didn't do the PH test, the clarity test, and the density test. Maybe you've cut these parts of the video to make it shorter, I don't know.
Bar soap is the worst for getting in the air & sticking to everything attracting dust that u cant just dry dust away. U have to scrub it off w soapy water. I used to clean houses. I'll never use those gorgeous soaps unless I'm bathing outdoors. Makes me sad but soap scum disguised as grime makes me sadder. I'm gonna make liquid soap. Do u clean your own house? If ur getting solidifed dust in less than a month, thats usually bar soap scum in the air. I've seen a few times some Indian families thatcook w a lot of oil & dont use the fan and who knows when they cleaned, last get a similar build up. And u can easily tell the difference in the soap scumminess of the bathroom. It shouldnt be a marathon scrubbing workout to clean regularly. Is there some secret soapmakers are privy to that I am not? Using your fan, opening windows sure... yeah not sure if that would solve the issue. Soap scum doesnt matter if ur bathing in a river like old days...

You can do it! Just jump in, be ready for things to go sideways and have fun while you are at it LOL
Thanks for the video. Would like to know why you added sorbitol.
sorbitol is a replacement for sugar - I had it on hand so just wanted to use some of it up🤗

I have the ebook too. It's nice to see a demo.
I'm glad you think so. I may have to do another one soon...or maybe even try my own formula...maybe LOL
This looks really fun to make. Thank you for sharing Tammy.
You are so welcome!♥
Thank you. I've never made the liquid soap. But, I feel like your videos have been very helpful ❤

It's good vedio about about making liquid Soap .really helpful..I"ll tring your recipe tomorrow thanks.
Thanks and welcome!
Great job can l use coconut oil instead of palm oil what is the measurement of ingredients you used

Do it need a preservative ?

good work
Thank you! Cheers!
This looks so lovely! Thank you for sharing your process. I have been wanting to get into liquid soap making soon.
You are so welcome! You should give it a try!😊
What did yoh add go speed emulsion
The liquid soap help seep emulsion - just a few "pumps" is all it takes. That along with the choice of oil qualities help🙂
Thank you for sharing Tammy

What is your recipe? I love this and would love to make it for myself.
Hi Bobbie, the recipe link is in the description - I paid for it so can not share. Good Luck!!🤗
Hola 👋. Has pensado en subtitular los vídeos en español? ❤️😊
hi Eloisa - as soon as I can figure out how to do this I will!! I thought it was automatic for you🙄♥
can we have the recipe?
the link to the recipe is in the description
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique no its not available in description
@@firasmusmar2097 actually it is, but here is the link for you - www.ultimateguidetosoap.com/liquid-soap-how-to-process-book-buy-online good luck!!
Ph 7?
I would expect the pH to be between 9-11 for a liquid soap.
No sound?
You might check your settings, there is sound when I went to check it.🤔

I would guess that the recipe had high Castile oil percentage that’s why the soap came out thick
It seems to me that you added a super big amount of lye.
it may seem that way but no, I added the correct amount of lye. This was a very large batch.

Why u not mention quantity?
I explained that this is a paid for formula. The link is in the description if you are wanting more info on it.
