      YES! I was really struggling to get excited about the liquid soap making - I think that is why I love this ebook so much, it makes me actually want to make it 😂

    Hi, thank you for all your effort and time invested in your videos. I have been trying to find information about how to color/tint my castile soap but there is nothing on Google or YT. What's safe (estable) to use to give castile soap a color? Dye, pigment, liquid colors, clays?? I feel lost honestly 😅🙏

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello!!! So - no clays LOL they would not mix and settle in no time flat - micas could work in maybe very small amounts but I would not use them, they will settle to the bottom I think.
      Safest (as far as reliable and giving no trouble - not skin safest) would be your Dyes or Liquid colors (usually those are micas mixed with glycerin but they mix better and don't settle, at least I don't think they do. I have used them before) I like dyes the best. A very little goes a long way and they are completely water soluble so they mix in great with liquid soaps
      Hope that helped!!! 🤗

    I am curious @sodium lactate in a liquid soap: what is its purpose exactly since it is normally used to harden CP soap?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andree, Thanks for such a great question! SL (along with glycerin) speed up the process of the soapmaking and also make a softer paste for easier diluting.

      I create all of my labels in Canva. I then either print them on full size sticker paper and cut them by hand or I print them on Online Labels sheets of pre cut labels. I do have a couple of videos on my channel that shows some of this process!

    What was the reason for adding soap into the oils?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The soap makes the liquid soap saponify faster - it's not necessary but in a 30 min process it sure helps! Thanks for watching!

      sorry for the delay! I wanted to check and make sure - it does not. Most makers now agree that any lye based product is not ideal for hair though. The pH is really high for most hair types.

      I love the tea tree and charcoal soap! I just made it before I started my channel. I think I may be making that again after the busy holiday season. I agree, it is very overwhelming - I have read it so many times LOL. But slowly it started making more sense and "sticking". Best of luck!!

    How to preserve hot process liquid soap ?by both chemical and natural way.(for tropical country's like India)
    )if chemical means how much grm I need to take for *100grm of shampoo base + Required quantity of water to dilute*?
    Types of preservative,and their quantity .
    ) if natural preservatives means their quantity used for *100grm of shampoo base + Required quantity of water to dilute*.
    Types of natural preservative and their quantity.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I don't use "natural" preservatives so can't speak to that. As far as chemical preservatives, I would say there are just so many out there...I would not know where to begin to help you find one in your location, for your tropical environment. I will say it is very important to choose one that is compatible with your soap. Find a preservative that has an effective range for that. Sorry I am not more help with that!

    Hi Tammy! what preservative do you use for liquid soap?

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't remember what I used in this soap but I usually use liquid germall plus. It is really hard to find a preservative that works in the high pH environment of liquid soap, germall plus isn't the greatest, but studies show it does work some with the higher pH
      I bought a different preservative thinking that it was better for soaps, and then realized afterwards that it actually wasn't better at all. That is when I went back to germall plus

    • @laurathompson3040

      @@WalnutCreekBathBoutique okay thanks Tammy! I watched the video where you said you had found a different one. Couldnt remember which video it was. I just curious how it turned out. Thanks for sharing! I found one on making cosmetics website said ph up to 10. It was "A somthing Banana". But their website went wonky and wouldn't work or load. Tried on 2 different computers and my phone and kept getting the same error message.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laurathompson3040 I found that preservative - WOW that is a pricy one - 30 + s&h for 8 oz. I figure that would take my cost up to about $5 per bottle. (that is using it at the lowest usage rate - 2-4 % is also really high) Mine are already kind of high at 3 or so each. Thanks for finding that for me -I will have to think about it though. At this time I just can't justify the cost.

    Rub some of the rosemary and mint oil on your scalp and hair a few hours before you wash. Not too much though. Why the addition of the liquid soap to oils. I never seen that before. I do live under a rock.

      Really!? I love making wax melts, but I can see what you mean...I think that is why I have to add colors. I think if I did only the white wax melts (which I LOVE the look of) I think I would get way too bored with them. 😆

      I was so excited to make them. I thought it would be fun and easy. But when I made them I just felt blah about it...lol. Literally melt it and pour it with some color and scent...hahaha..And them I was thinking about how much candles cost in the store and I was really mad about it....hahaha...I will always make my own now, but not to sell.

    • @WalnutCreekBathBoutique
      @WalnutCreekBathBoutique  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sabrina, This is a little late of a response, haha - I wish I could make and sell candles but with insurance and testing costs, I think I would lose too much money. I don't see how there is any money in them at all. Not sure how they make them so cheap in the stores, it is maddening.
      I make them for myself and family too. But I'm not very good at it. I made sand candles once that was really fun - but messy lol (where you take a wine bottle to make a hole in a box of sand and then pour your wax in) those were also not very good but I like the rustic look of them.
