    I don't like reading novel or romantic stories however I get indulged in reading articles about human behavior, psychology and philosophy. I don't know, I just feel like the need to understand what are people thinking and the whyness and howness of almost everything.

    • @faithworks217

      I used to read romances a lot when I was depressed, but no more. I have a lot of books and only four of them are novels, three of those spiritual allegories. David Balfour by Robert Louis Stevenson is my only other novel. I'd like to get my hands on a copy of the first book, Kidnapped. I love the Scots accent. I married a Scot with a beautiful accent.
      One whole shelf holds cookbooks. When my son was 15, he asked, "Why do you keep buying these books? You never use them." So true. I liked looking at the pictures, though I did that only the first time I looked at them and then nevermore. I bought the book IN CASE I felt like making one of the recipes. (Hasn't happened so far.) I like the Joy of Cooking cookbook because it includes little historical anecdotes about food. I have used it a few times when I wanted to make dumplings for my stew. My son is 42 and I still hardly ever open a cookbook. When my kids were in their teens, I figured they could do their own cooking, and they were good at it, like their Dad.

    INTJ female only child here. When I went to birthday parties as a kid, I would skip the party and went to look at what books were in the house. Sometimes I would find a grandparent and have discussions with them about their history. Or spend time with the family pet. I kept getting invited to parties though , yay more books!

    • @faithworks217
      @faithworks217 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      When I was a waitress, I attended a staff party at the owners' home. I was older than the other waitresses, but I looked young for my age, early twenties like them. The waiters didn't realize it and when one of them said something flirty to me, I said, "You watch what you're saying. I'm old enough to be your MOTHER." He looked at bewilderment at the waitresses and they nodded their heads and said, "Yep, she is." Well, anyway, all these young people at the party were drinking booze like fish and acting like fools, throwing each other in the pool. It looked like a situation where they might forget that I am older and don't hold with that silliness. I went into the house and came across a lot of books in the den, so I settled down to read. The hostess walked by and saw me. She said, "I think you're the only person here that has any sense." I felt pretty good about this compliment. The owners were so annoyed with the shenanigans that they never had a staff party at their house again.

      I had a boss who was 94 when I first started working for him. I loved it when he would tell me about his childhood and young adulthood. He was raised on a ranch and broke in his first horse when he was only ten years old, a cayuse that his father had caught on the yearly roundup when the ranchers went after the wild horses. I asked him, "Did you ever come across a horse you couldn't ride?" He said, "Nope." I then asked, "Were you ever afraid to break in a horse?" He said, "Nope. I figured if my father could do it, I could do it, too." Such confidence! He was bigger than life and I loved working for him. Arne was such a sweetheart, the best boss I ever had. I would try to get him to tell me more stories about "the olden days," but he was very single-minded about the ministry he started and, if the conversation wasn't about this, he would wave me away if I attempted to talk about something else. His friends were used to him doing that to them and we took it in stride. I often would pause and marvel that I worked for a man who was nearly 100 years old. He was very active and his mind was sharp.

    One thing I disagree with is the type of reading. All good novels are full of real world psychology and philosophy. I do prefer older novels written before the dumbing down and debasement of society. It is hard to find intelligent, thought provoking modern novels.

    I’m a INTJ- A, Female. Definitely agree with 8.5/9. #5 Art, not so much as an adult, maybe when I was young. #8 Reading, I have come to conclusion that Audiobooks should be part of this. Especially when I’m driving or whenever I don’t have the time to just sit down and read. For me, watching Movies with purpose, not so much for entertainment, should be on this list. I find Movies gives me an insight into others POV and a satisfying result on how other’s deals with situations. I love to forecast the ending and imagine how I can change it to make it more realistic if it was me in that situation. Dreaming/daydreaming, is another one. I love to remember what I dreamed, then continue daydreaming about it when I wake up, until the result fit my expectation. Others have commented, traveling. 100% agree!

    When I was a teenager, very insecure, terrible at sports, I was quiet most of the time. I hid behind my long hair, hunched over clutching my books to my chest, I felt like I was invisible and thought that nobody at school ever noticed me. But in English class, I came alive. I didn't do homework, but I had plenty to say when discussing books or writing essays in class, and when we read Pygmalion aloud, I got the part of Eliza Dolittle and loved doing the Cockney accent and putting emotion into the part. All the other students looked at me like they thought I was a weirdo. Eventually I got discouraged at their tepidness and stopped doing the accent near the end of the play, but my efforts up until then got me an A.
    I went into fostercare when I was 15, finally was allowed to wear makeup and short skirts, got my hair cut short, and then other kids noticed me and thought I was stuck up. A girl who usually called me "beaver face" because of my teeth, told me that some other girl said I probably thought I had a good figure. I was surprised; I hadn't even noticed my figure. My guidance counsellor said that the other students perceived me as confident. I was shocked. Regardless of how my looks and posture improved, I still felt like jelly on the inside, but my shyness was interpreted as being aloof and unapproachable. Guys never asked me for a date when I went to school, even though I crushed on some of them. If the ones I thought were cool had talked to me, I would have been tongue-tied and wanted the floor to swallow me up.
    I transferred to another school in Grade 10 and met up again with some boys who were nasty to me in Grade 6 because I wasn't the sort to fight back. They used to call me names, one of which was bucktooth, so I disciplined myself to close my lips and breathe through my nose like normal people. Those boys tried to taunt me again, but I ignored them, and then they wondered if I was the same person they picked on in Grade 6. Now they wanted to get to know me, when I was cute-looking. Too late, suckers. I talked to a male friend about this experience. He said I needed to forgive them. Sure, I forgive them, but I'm never going to date anyone who used to call me "fleabag." Lol!

    INTJ fem here. Everything is spot on (even painting), except for cleaning my surroundings. I procrastinate big time when it comes to chores like cleaning up my house, windows, car, laundry, and doing the paperwork. Because I live in my head where I generally have the order that I need.

    • @faithworks217
      @faithworks217 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I need order in my surroundings to keep things orderly in my head. I keep track of all my expenses and my checkbook in an Excel workbook that I have made look really pretty with colour and pictures. When I have gone shopping, I feel a bit agitated until I get everything in my workbook updated. As for my environment, people are pretty amazed when they see the tidiness of my cupboards and drawers and closets. I hate seeing clothes lying on the floor, so that doesn't happen in my place. I've sometimes left clothes on a chair for a few days. One time, when my grandson was three, he saw some of my clothing on a chair. He touched it and looked at me in annoyance. He was used to chaos in his own house (my daughter is an ESFP), but he expected better of me. Lol!

I can go through these videos all day or play videos games (that also have text) like Final Fantasy games. However, other than that, for me this is 100% spot on. I'm an INTJ. Sometimes, for relief, I like to get away from logic, and become very non-sensical. My wife never understood why I liked to watch Three Stooges, Keystone Cops,
    and Gilligan's Island, and slapstick comedy. I told her that I didn't like intellectual (dry) humour so much because there was too much thinking to be done. I watch humour to get away from thinking and kick up my heels, so the Three Stooges does it for me.

    I like romance stories, because you can learn things from it. We have trouble with emotions, and there is plenty of emotion in stories like that. If you don't have a partner yet, you might learn something that can help.
    Not really into art, I use to draw when I was younger, but I haven't done it for many years.
    Sorry, not a fan of nature, I like Technology too much to be away from it that long. ;)
    Not a big organizer, I'll sit something down, and I'll know where it is 10 years later.
    Sorry, this video wasn't very accurate for a INTJ, compared to the majority of other videos out here.
    Not sure what makes me excited anymore. Hmmm, I like stories, I do a lot of reading. I like putting myself in the shoes of the characters. I like being inside the head of interesting characters. Seeing how they think. Seeing the cause and effect of things. I like rpg games, where you can build up your character, constantly making them stronger.
    It's been awhile since I've been really excited by anything. So much crap is made today, that I'm constantly being let down by something I thought would be good. It makes it hard to get excited by anything when that happens so often.

    I'd say that this is the most accurate video describing me as INTJ! 9/9. Wow! Usually our type is described with another traits like generalizing concepts, watching and reading non-fiction only, observing life from distance, hating small talks, etc. I was surprised that my little personal hobbies and interests is in fact a common case within personality type.
    And yes, I like reading romantic novels because I learn from them too: the genre as a kind of art, the mainstream cannons, the literature structure of them, the character concepts, the social scenarios, the romance itself. Same thing what INTJs like - learning, but with an easy entertainment as a bonus (if the plot is good).

My life has many soundtracks, and music is essential to uplift, calm, and inspire me, stimulate thought, and offer an avenue of expression.

    for me i do loveeee stories, reading can definitely be a challenge but i could chew thru sword + sorcery/fantasty/scifi audiobooks like im breathing. However, i found that i LOVE writing! writing and creating the stories ive always wanted to read. i've got just under 5000 pages written and dont plan on stopping, or showing anyone other than my brother. It's really just for me, and it feels amazing. It's the best therapy ive ever had. I suggest any other INTJ's try and dip their toe in the writing game.

    This is a very accurate video. As a youngster, I would tend to go to the library and read various field guides about insects, animals, fish etc. I have a distinct memory of my sister coming into the room while i was watching a show about the origins of the universe...I was maybe 11 or 12. We both found it humorous though I knew at a young age that I wasn't like most kids my age and in some ways, didn't care. I really think that our education system would be so much better if said system used MBTI and tailored curriculum to optimize the experience.

      Six kids in my family. My brother Jim and I were the only ones who read encyclopedia and dictionaries. I read lot of novels, too, particularly adventure stories, at least one book every day. Even Jim was impressed and called me a bookworm. He didn't read as much as me when we were kids. I would sneak out into the hall where the light was on and read until 1 am, then I was tired in school the next day.

I don't read anything for entertainment at all. I definitely enjoy tacking problems and strategizing. Literally everything I do have strategies with a plan a, b, c, & d and maybe even a plan e. Always have a backup plan and backup plans to my backup plans basically.

    Female INTJ here. I am very organized, but also extremely messy. I've had a lot of childhood trauma I'm blaming for that, and seeking help with my mental health.
    This video showed me why I prefer to be alone, why I love to draw and want to learn to paint. I always wanted to be in school because I love to learn and also meant we weren't moving - again. (Ten schools in twelve years, two countries and six states. See where the trauma came from??) I'm now starting to read, which I avoided until I was around 25. I'll read any book as long as it's interesting - doesn't matter if it's fiction, romance, fantasy, or non-fiction.
    I am enjoying these videos because I'm learning more about myself and seeing I'm not as crazy as I think. :D

    under INTJ Strategy , for me in (20+ years old),
    im kind addict to strategy game , like management ,planning , strategize and all that in that groups
    like :-
    Assassin Creed - where how to plan to kill
    shadow of war - how to plan and conquer
    rim world / oxygen not include - colony management
    command and conquer - war stuff
    but i dont know why i hate COC(phone game), time consuming perhaps...
    but when i was younger like 10 to 18 years old i like to read books and learn :-
    philosophy, history , psychology, art (although i really bad at art) lol .

    No, no, no. Strategizing goes in the Number 1 slot. Bump nature down to the bottom.
    Nature by myself is extremely boring. I'm already alone in my head all the time. i do not need more time alone with just myself to talk to. I'm happy with solitude. Bot solitude out in the middle of a field? it lacks purpose. I enjoy the beauty of the world around me, but it's while I'm on the way to doing something else.
    Meanwhile strategizing encompasses organization and the future. It provides the satisfaction of doing the thing that you were made to do in life, a thing that apparently not everyone can do. We kind of suck at having the correct emotional reactions to our friends problems. We're just not good at it. Strategizing to help our friends with our problems though? It's a way of showing our love, and hopefully our friends will return our affections by appreciating our help.

    I could relate to a lot of INTJ traits when I started watching these videos, but then I started having doubts because of things pertaining to emotions. So, I started watching about INFJs and found I could relate even better to that profile. There is a man who noted in the comments that he used to test as INTJ, but discovered he is actually INFJ, though close to an INTJ profile. If an INTJ dug into their genealogy, and read about a greatgreatgreatuncle who was wounded while covering the retreat at Chancellorsville, and died three days later, would they see it vividly in their head, a young man of 20 lying on the dirt, in pain, dying far from his family and leaving behind no son to carry on his name? And bawl their head off over that poor, young man? I had to give up digging into my genealogy because it took up too much of my time, and stories like that about real people, especially one I was related to, hit me so hard.

    Note: When (maybe just some) INTJs (like me), say, haven't received enough positive feedback from those they gave advice to, either at work or in a relationship, they might decide to stop doing so. They would pretend to, if not pretending hard enough in a convincing way, have no opinions or thoughts, and instead keep the thoughts to themselves.

    • @kylemonstar_sh
      @kylemonstar_sh 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And it's not emotional (so I told myself at least). It's pure logic: The effort I need to put into convincing them and the trouble such communication may cause is too much. The chance for me to succeed is not high, and even if I manage to do so, what I would receive in return is not worth putting all that effort into.

    Making lists. It might seem like an obvious part of organizing. But it is a wondrous thrill all by itself. I have spent a lifetime making lists of anything and everything. And it is the process, not the result. Once the list is done, I don't really need it anymore. I have one list of pop music trends morphing into other, later pop music trends - that I have been working on since I was 18. Now I am 76 and still working on it now and then. And I still love doing it. What is its socially redeeming value? None, except my pleasure. Making lists. Better than going to a party! (Oh, yeah - we're also introverts - that's the "I" - and we hate parties. Much more fun making a list - or wiping and reinstalling my OS and apps on my PC. I forgot that. Uh oh, is this turning into a list?

    INTJ boy - pretty accurate. The books I read tend to be historical fiction or factual. I drew as a kid and love art, but music performing and learning musical technical aspects are my thing (goes with being a math geek). I tend to be drafted into organizational positions because I am competent and do things/participate (as opposed to not helping, like most people). I run a dog agility club and all the trials because I was told to - going on 20 years now and I like it because it is about organizing information. As a programmer, I developed The Signup Place for agility trial volunteering, the handle is from my videos.
