I have the mini as my first direct drive wheelbase. I’ve been sim racing for about 2 months now with it and don’t plan on stopping any time soon, I love it. I know that no one can answer, “is the upgrade to the Alpha ultimate worth it from the mini” question. I’m pretty sure I am just going to have to buy it to make the decision for myself because the voices in my head will never quiet down otherwise!! Lol
From what i have seen, all Alpha's (Mini, Alpha and Ultimate) have pretty much the same feel. Only difference is the maximum torque output. If you find yourself wanting to turn the Force Feedback higher than the base will go, then i do recomend upgrading, not having any issues with clipping is one of the best things with such a powerful base. If you dont get any clipping with the Mini, than you should be fine. However, i do understand those "voices", they were the reason i got the Ultimate🤣
@@agracing08yea I actually just went ahead and ordered one - I’d rather spend the extra money instead of continuing to wonder :). I will definitely use some xtra torque, so it’s going to be worth it for that and the retail therapeutic effect :)
Ive been using the Alpha mini, its awesome, im also coming from the T818, The Alpha Mini far superior. The U must be nuts. Extremely powerful cant imagine as the mini us very strong and detailed. I think it will do for most people.
It is amazing. I felt the 10NM on the T818 was't quite enough, so i was looking at a Alpha 15NM, but as i could get the Ultimate for not much more, and has there some reviews comparing the Alpha U to a Simucube 2 Pro (which is much more expensive) i couldn't pass on the oportunity to get it. From what i've seen, all Alpha's are pretty similar in feel if you disregard the max torque. I currently use it at arround 14-16NM depending on the car.
The smoothness, the quick response, the higher detail in the feedback, everything in the T818 feels plastic and weak on Simagic everything feels super strong with 0 flex... Pretty much everything you see and feel while driving, Simagic does better. Only thing i cant comment on is the Simagic 10NM, has i have never used the Mini, but from what i have hear everything i mentioned also aplies to the Mini and Alpha.
I have heard a lot of reviewers say that. Its amazing that they could get the same feel on the Mini (that is half the price of the U). All Alpha bases are amazing.
Yes it is. Its an old Samsung i had lying arround. I use a program called SimHub, it takes the telemetry from the game and allows you to use it in variuos ways, look it up, its really easy to setup. The monitor is an AOC 34’ Ultrawide 1440p 144hz.
he's using the mag link (simagics' usb built for the GT neo). His wheel will be hooked up to simhub. No need for the mag link if you're going to use the simagic software though
Its amazing!!! I am really loving it, super detailed and smooth. Before getting the Alpha U i had a Thrustmaster T818 10NM Direct Drive, which was a super nice base, but this Alpha U makes it feel like a plastic toy. You got yourself a pretty fantastic base, hope you enjoy it!!

as the alpha mini and the t818 have both 10 NM, which attributes did you consider superior in the Simagic?

I can judge from the movement of the. Wheel that the detail in the Mini and Ultimate are the same.

All Alpha bases are amazing.
Is that dash a cell phone? How do you do that? Nice work

What phone mount is that
nice video, are u using the gt neo with a usb cable?

Thanks! Yes, i am using the Maglink so that i can control the lights using Simhub instead of the Simagic software
Ordered mine yesterday
How are you liking the ultimate? I just ordered me one. It shows up tomorrow. Was supposed to be today lol.

Im loving it and now that i have the settinfs dialed in. Omg is it so damn good or what!@@agracing08
is that the trak racer universal mount that you're using?
Yes it is!
@@agracing08 thank you!
What size monitor is that?
It is a 34 inch ultrawide.
Why not just put the dash on your screen??? lol
Its more emersive this way. It gives more deph to the sim, and also hides the bottom bezel of the monitor, which gives a nicer POV of the game.
